This was our first time at the restaurant. We arrived early to enjoy a cocktail only to learn the bar has no seating. I am not sure you could get a cocktail without being seated as there was no bartender. We soon found out the hostess, waitress, bartender and bussing were being done by one person. There were approximately a dozen tables that required service. Understaffed. The table water was warm. All that aside, the food was delicious. Dessert was good and the coffee arrived after the dessert was eaten.
Limited menu, but well done. It is a small restaurant. We dined early on a weekday and we were the only diners for 1 hour. The almond gelato was excellent.
This was my second visit to Sapore; I couldn’t wait to go back. We brought another couple with us, as we’ve been raving about the entire Sapore experience since our first visit. Wendy is the perfect Server; she is friendly, efficient, and it is evident that she loves her job and customers. Once again, the food did not disappoint— it was delicious. The guys each ordered the bone-in pork chop, my friend had the ravioli with the peaches, and I had the pasta sampler trio (ravioli with peaches; pesto linguine; Maccheroni with grilled eggplant in a spicy tomato sauce), and the key lime pie with raspberry coulis and coconut cookies for the table to share for dessert. It was a delicious and fun evening, and our friends raved about it, saying they want to return again very soon, as do my husband and I.
One always feels welcome at Sapore. Friendly and attentive, without being over-bearing, the service is perfect. The food is even more so! Tastes of old world Italy combined with flavors of today make everything delicious! You can’t go wrong here!
The first time we went everything was perfect. We thought the food was good but definitely nothing special this time
They have to work on the salads. The Caesar salad was overwhelmed by the anchovies.
The natural deliciousness of the scallops was covered up by whatever they were treated with.
The service is always impeccable and the Ambiance lovely.
Excellent food except for the pork chop not as tender as it could have been.
Everything was wonderful, fresh and flavorful.
This is a restaurant to return to seasonally as they change their menu. We brought some die hard Italian foodies who continue to rave about it. You can't beat the quality of the food, should be pricier but it its not. The prix fixe is a bargain, but go hungry. Love this place. Favorite restaurant in all of Cleveland.
It was our first time to dine at Sephora and all four of us were very pleased. It will be one of many times we dine there.
Exquisite food, exquisitely prepared!
Disappointed in the quality of our meals. Two had the scallops and one had the veal and one had lamb shank. Everthing was tender but very little flavor. The salads had too much oil and the greens were too soft. The desserts were excellent. Not an upscale restaurant.
Outstanding food and service , has become my favorite restaurant in northeast Ohio
Menu was great , food was outstanding. Farm to table options. Heard menu will change second week in July . We will be back. Service was personalized and excellent. There is only one server and she is fun, knowledgeable and very efficient. Highly recommend. Only sorry that it is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
I had dinner here with four other people on a Saturday night. One had lamb shanks and ranked them as excellent. One had lobster ravioli and ranked it as good. Two had the fish special [walleye] and both were disappointed, saying the fish was quite overcooked. I had veal scallopini which was ok but not scallopini as the veal pieces were quite thick. The soup special, cauliflower bisque was very good. As the evening wore on, the noise level was very high, precluding normal conversation which is always a negative for me and my friends, but the room is small so that is to be expected, I suppose.
Sapore is a hidden gem in Chesterland. Everything we were served was made from scratch ,from the delicious bread to the scrumptious desert . The food was absolutely Devine!
Came for a friend's birthday. Nice room, friendly waitress, good food options and tasty food. We really enjoyed our evening
The food was as always delightful by Loretta and her team - love this place!
Server was pleasant and attentive. Chef/ owner greeted us with a small delicious appetizer. The restaurant was charming and quaint. Love the white table cloths, enhances the cleanliness and charm. Enjoyed Caesar salad, warm bread to begin with followed by sea bass special for husband. Very nice. I enjoyed the 3 choice of pastas, specifically the beef and vegetable filled pasta. We ended the meal with a moist, light & generous carrot cake.
This is a great find! Personal service and made from scratch food! What an excellent restaurant!!
There were three of us and we were the only ones in the restaurant due to bad weather! The service was fantastic and the food was even better! The tastings of the pastas were delicious as was the veal scallopini. Super nice and friendly people.
We went for my wife's birthday. She loved it, she says it was the best braised short rib she ever had. I'm not sure when, but I will be back.
The kitchen, with quiet confidence and attention to detail, always puts out a beautiful, and creative, menu with the use of local and seasonal foods: delicious. We took friends for their first visit who were totally captivated by the hidden, neighborhood gem. The front room is managed in a confident manner; they compliment the kitchen nicely.
Had the chef's special of the day, which was scallops, and were hands down the best I have ever eaten. The accompanying sauces were spectacular and severed in the perfect amount. Gourmet food at its best and not outrageously over priced for the quality of the food. The dining room is small, seating only twenty something, but tastefully decorated was soft American / Italian music in the background. We will most certainly be visiting again.
Overall tasty meal. I had a delicious piece of grouper that was prepared well. The home made bread was a big disappointment The caesar dressing was way too fishy. Could not even eat it.
We celebrated Valentines Day at Sapore a couple of days late. Our second visit was just as great as our first. Outstanding food, service and romantic ambiance are all hallmarks of this wonderful restaurant.
This was our first visit to Sapore and we were very impressed. My wife had lobster bisque and veal marsala and I had a stuffed oysters special app and the three pastas entree. We finished with Opera Cake.
Every dish was excellent and compared very well to Dante in Tremont, Chinato downtown and Trentina in University Circle. The good news for us is that Sapore is much closer than the other three. We will definitely be back.
Great food, fresh locally sourced ingredients, beautifully presented, and totally delicious! Worth going out for on a cold, icy winter's evening!
Small and intimate restaurant. Great atmosphere amazing food and awesome service. Everything tasted so fresh. Another gem in Northeast Ohio dining scene
The flavors were outstanding. If you've never been there, make it a must.
A friend and I had a lovely meal at Sapore. The food was nicely done and delicious. Overall each course could have been hotter in temperature, things came out of the kitchen tepid.
The flavors were very good and especially the pasta dishes were authentic.
I thought the drinks were very expensive, good selection but expensive.
Overall well prepared and delicious. Making reservations was easy and painless on line.
More advance warning of the parking situation would have been helpful. In the dark the driveway is hard to see and luckily i did not pull into the small lot with only a few spaces. Some directionals would be nice.
Will return for another meal.
Fantastic dining experience. This isn't a venue you can afford every week, but definitely worth the trip.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!! If you want a true dining experience with EXCEPTIONAL CREATIVE cuisine along with great service - spend an evening at Sapore! Embrace the experience - not recommended if you are in a hurry - one of the pleasures is relaxing and enjoying a everything Chef Loretta and her team have to offer!!
Excellent meals, well prepared, friendly and good service, very nice experience
I love Sapore. It’s small but puts on a great spread! Great options for small or larger appetites. I like that you can choose a small or entree portion of pasta. I couldn’t decide between entrees, so i had a small pasta as my appetizer! Prixfixe meat and seafood menus available. Small bar available for basic cocktails. Some wines by glass or bottles I’ve you prefer. I love this restaurant and will return again ...and again!
fantastic ambiance, food, and service. can’t wait to go back.
Had the most wonderful evening, the food was mouth watering and the owner very gracious and Italian. Going back for more. Don't go if you are in a hurry- this place is meant to enjoy.
Food was amazing! We were there for a special occasion and Sapore did not disappoint. The food, atmosphere and staff were excellent! Would highly recommend.
Not impressed, Food was salty, waitress was pushy. I realize the restaurant in in a renovated home, but was musty smelling
What a hidden gem! Our food was perfectly prepared and presented and delicious! I had porchetta, my husband had the prix fixed seafood dinner. Portions are generous - we took food home. Sapore is affiliated with local chef training school ICASI, and chef Brandon Walukas is an instructor there. We will definitely be going back!
A true gem small setting with and a great wine list. It is a place that we keep on coming back to time and time again
