The food is very well prepared with some of the best ingredients one can get access to. It's not an every day kind of place but I'd highly recommend Sapiens Paleo Kitchen for special occasions.

Finding good help is hard these days, so I’ll give the wait staff a break. But the service was disappointing.

The food was excellent.

I’ll definitely return.

Food was great! My own fault for not realizing this place does not serve alcohol or wine. Apparently you can bring your own wine but we were not aware of this. Service was very friendly and attentive although I felt they should bring fresh cutlery between the appetizer and the main course. Had the creme brûlée for dessert and it was fantastic.

Excellent food. Server (young woman, short hair) rushed us at every stage of the meal including trying to remove plates while people were still eating. She actually removed my plate without asking when there was still food on it (fortunately I was done eating). BYOB is a bonus. Good restaurant. Just needs a better server.

The food is terrible and is equivalent to cafeteria food with zero presentation. I will never go back.

Some customers expect us to serve pizza and chicken nuggets . As a Paleo restaurant we've made a commitment to serve meals prepared only from the most mindfully selected ingredients that contribute to the optimal health. Being rude to our server and demanding food that we don't serve is simply unacceptable.

Very barren, probably because of the pandemic. We were told there was no option for anything cream-like to add to coffee because “dairy is not paleo,” then handed a container of sugar packets, so that seems incongruent. Otherwise, food was generally fine, if a little salty & the waitress was quite pleasant.

Thanks for your review. Sapiens is the only 100% Paleo restaurant in the US. We do not use dairy products. The sugar selection offered to you included Stevia, Monkfruit and Brown Sugar. Some guests experience sensitivity to Stevia and Monkfruit, so brown sugar is a reasonable exception. We offer an alternative to cream , our bulletproof coffee with whipped MCT oil. It is healthy and delicious. 3 stars for not serving cream in Paleo restaurant is unreasonable. Please, let us stay true to Paleo

The chef at Sapiens was trained in Paris. Her dishes are luscious. Absolutely out of this world.

Also, she and her husband are experts in different foods and what is the most healthy for your body, so in addition to being delicious, it's beneficial for your health. It's all gluten-free and organic.

The seating is small and intimate, and because of that, the noise level is low.

I will definitely go here many, many times.

This is a really nice little place although we were unaware that they didn’t serve alcohol or wine but you can bring your own so next time we will. It was kind of funny we both ordered a Limone Pellegrino and when we got our Pellegrino we got lemon wedges on the side. It was the same price as the regular Pellegrino which is what we got, (lol), it was just kind of funny. I guess during these times creativity is the key right? Service was pretty good although it seemed to take a long time for our entree, a table of three got there meals before we did and we were there at least 15 - 20 minutes before they were. But no biggie, we will definitely go back because the food was really terrific.

While we do not follow a Paleo diet, the menu was enough to prompt us to eat there. The food was excellent. We have Oysters Rockefeller (be sure to add the cheese), the greens salad (added blue cheese), and for our entrees we had the lamb and the duck. Both were excellent. For dessert, we had the apple crisp which was the most disappointing part of the meal. I would term is so-so, but otherwise, a very good meal. Keep in mind that the restaurant is BYOB and they charge what I think is an outrageous $15 corkage fee.

Indeed, we've received the loudest guests from the community that Friday night and for that my deepest apologies. I also miss the quiet lockdown nights at times. However, I must say that a limited capacity mandate over the past year created lasting expectations on the part of some customers that are simply unrealistic and unsustainable. Luckily, there are UberEats and such, who can turn your loud restaurant nightmare into a magic night within the confines of your home ...in absolute silence.

It’s nice that someone is out here trying to cater to special diets but the execution is lacking. I’m a kitchen managers of a restaurant and I was fairly confident that we had microwaved food. Filet was over cooked and not enough salt or pepper at the very least. Veggies were not cooked enough and to crunchy. The mushrooms were good and so was the bone broth. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day?

Sapiens Paleo Kitchen
Responded on June 23, 2021

No chance for any microwaved food to be served at Sapiens Kitchen. All vegetables are served " Al Dente" to showcase their superb quality, taste and nutritional content. No fine restaurant in the world will match overstimulated by sugar and excessive seasoning palate of a BBQ aficionado like you, so it's only natural to feel that a grass fed fillet taste bland. Stick to BBQ places. Even the worst of them will offer you more than Sapiens ever will. Stay healthy!

The food as always was excellent. It was perfectly prepared. The escargot was one the best I have eaten. The duck confit was delicious and the vegetables were perfectly prepared. My wife had the vegetable Napoleon along with the mushroom soup which she was raving about. My daughter had the paleo bread board along with the meatloaf which was delicious. For dessert we all shared the paleo chocolate waffle which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Can’t wait til we go back again.

I'm sorry to say, but on a pass-fail basis, we must give this restaurant a fail. Out of our four dishes served last night, one dish arrived at the table so cold that it had to be sent back. Two of the other main dishes were disappointing and tasteless. Our escargot appetizer was overcooked and rubbery. Only one of our group liked the main course. So, on balance, the overall experience was far from perfect and I cannot recommend the restaurant to others.

For us this place did not live up to its excellent reviews. The food was tasty enough but not what we would consider excellent. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty but completely fell apart just when transferring from the serving dish to our plate. More ended up on the table than on our plate! My husband ordered the ribeye steak special medium well and it was cooked well done. The service was unnecessarily slow. We were seated and it was at least 10 minutes before anyone came to collect a drink order and then when someone did approach the table he asked if we wanted to order any appetizers. We told him what we wanted and he turned to walk away without even mentioning beverages. We placed a beverage order and after at least 15 minutes we had to ask for our beverages. In the end our bill was $150 plus a $30 tip. Considering we had no alcohol (they don’t have a license) $180 for this dining experience was not worth the money.

One could not go here without knowing it was a Paleo/Keto kitchen, but I fully underestimated how vegetables would dominate the plating. When we order Duck ana Liver as my wife and I did, we expect the protein to be featured as opposed to being buried under a pile of assorted vegetables. To us that was a turn off. We had started with Escargot and Oysters Rockefeller and while the Escargot were excellent the Oysters should never have left the kitchen. When my complaint of them being smothered in spinach and I mean smothered, reached the owner/chef's ears she fully agreed with me and apologized for the error of a new employee. She offered to prepare another order but as I had already eaten the fine oysters after removing most of the Spinach, I declined. Nevertheless she insisted I try at least one, which I did and it was a vast improvement. Our protein in our main course were excellent and in fact the liver was outstanding. We ate about 1/4 of the assorted veggies and had no complaints. We would return to this restaurant, especially for the liver but would request the assorted veggies served on their own plate and I would caution any friends I recommended this restaurant to . I should also mention they did not charge us for the oysters.

Chef Aurore never fails to deliver. The flavors of every dish she creates are exquisite. The use of so many fantastic vegetables and her sauces are all top notch. My family could not have had a better Mothers day meal. I would give her restaurant 3 Michelin stars if I could. Thank you again for another phenomenal meal.
