I can't eat Gluten so this food is perfect for me! 90% of it appears to be Gluten Free (except for that amazing bread)
The food was fabulous. Restaurant very noisy and a mistake occurred with our groups order. It was dealt with very well by staff.
The food was delicious and they had set up nicely for our party of eight! Service was good and the food was amazingly family style so everything was shared!
It was the first time at the restaurant. The waitress was very helpful and gave us great information regarding the menu choices. Really enjoyed our dinner and are planning on going back to the restaurant at a later date.
First time and WHAT A PLACE! The food was phenomenal, the service was friendly and outstanding, and put up with the bad dad jokes all night - she was a gem. The whole evening was amazing, we didn’t know what to expect but we were NOT disappointed. Can’t wait to tell everyone about it and come back to try more dishes! The cheese stuffed bread was drool-worthy
The food and service were excellent. Our server was attentive and we never had to wait for anything. Designed to be a shared meal. So order different items and enjoy.
We had no clue what to order! But having heard from friends who had been there before.....we asked for the ‘Chef’s Recommendations’ - turned out to actually be a menu item! And it was fantastic! It was a LOT of food though, and we were there well into the evening......but the server was amazing in her descriptions, and it was a very good way to get a sense of the incredible spices, and the genre of the food from Georgia - next time we will have a good sense of what to order individually if we want to! A great evening to be sure.
This was our first time at the Georgian restaurant and I would highly recommend it for any occasion. Some of the dishes were very popular and they ran out so get there early!
We had the Georgian Dinner for 4. It was fabulous. And there was so much food that we took ALL of the mains home as leftovers.
Slow service, meat tasty but overcooked
Great food, amazing taste. Excellent service. Nice authentic wine from Georgia. Expensive.
This was our first time at Saperavi and we absolutely loved it. We enjoyed every dish we tried, and our server was very helpful with recommendations. The wine of course was fantastic as well and complemented our meal. We would love to return with a group and try the group meal. Either way, we will be returning!
We were in Georgia in June and loved the food there. The dishes at Saperavi were authentic and delicious. Our server was great too! I will highly recommend this place to our friends!
We went to this restaurant last year and were thrilled. The food was different with unique preparation and spicing. The spices were quite pronounced. We had raved about it and finally managed to get a visit there together with friends. Well. ....
Saturday night.. humming in Corydon. One waitress to cover the restaurant and patio. She was good but new and quickly became overwhelmed when the restaurant started filling. She didn’t know what drinks were available. They had to run out for tonic for my gin. There was no rum other than white.
My friend ordered chicken kebabs which came twenty minutes ahead of anyone else and was cold. After ten minutes my lamb meatballs came. The sauce was like a canned rose sauce with none of the promised Georgian spices. Then finelly the chicken in cream sauce..... bland.....bland...
It was a huge disappointment. Our friend complained and was told someone called in sick. The manager finally started helping with serving, but way too late. All we got was an apology. Had we received some compensation off the bill, I might not have written this review. We won’t be going again.
Fantastic spot! Went for the dinner for 4, ended up getting about 10 dishes. All were excellent, would highly recommend!
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. The service couldn't have been worse. We waited an exceptionally long time for absolutely everything and then even had to request one of our forgotten dishes when the waitress tried to bring our bill. The waitress was not friendly or helpful and set a terrible tone for the restaurant.
The upside was the traditional cheese bread was amazing! I can't say it was worth all the hassle, but it was definitely the highlight. ...unfortunately I guess I'll never have it again because I won't be going back!
Birthday get together with friends.
The food was delicious, the prices were good and the portion sizes were large. The service was a little slower than other restaurants, it seemed like there was only one server for the inside dining room... but being a large group getting together we were fine with that, as we were in no hurry. We all agreed that we want to return as there were so many choices on the menu that we want to try!
Normally, I would highly recommend Saperavi. However, this time, for the first time, the food was disappointing. We ordered four dishes, and the meat in the two chicken dishes, while tasty, was overcooked. The "sausage" wrapped in pastry was nice, but very dry. In addition, the service was extremely slow (probably the kitchen rather than the server). All in all, a very disappointing experience.
Great intro to a unique culture and cuisine. The appetizers we tried were all great, but the Katchapuri was outstanding. Super nice service from Hanna. Will go back
If this is what Georgian food is like then I’ve been missing out. Great menu and variety, loved the clay pots. Delicious home style flavour. Excellent service.
Surprised this place wasn’t busier. Winnipeg you owe it to yourself to try it!
It takes time to get your order, and you go to be ready for not hot meal
I was not sure what to expect but I was impressed. When we arrived the food smelled delicious. We did not know to order and asked for recommendations and we were not disappointed. The food was tasty and filling. We will definitely return.
We booked through open table, and we received confirmation, but they didn’t have my name on their reservations when we got there, therefore no table was ready for us. Not a good start .
The food was good but several of the hot dishes were cold or undercooked eg. the cheese bread, and also the mushrooms with cheese, and the dumplings.
The chicken was excellent, but the beef kebab was not good, no flavour and tough.
The girl waiting the table was friendly and helpful.
Not likely to go back, has so much potential to be a “wow” different dining experience but it was a disappointment.
Excellent food! Delicious. Good portions. Excellent service and atmosphere. My new favorite restaurant in Winnipeg
It’s a very intimate place. If you’re looking for a quiet place romantic with great food, this is it.
If you don’t know the area very well you’ll have to look for parking around.
I loved the place!
My fifth time here. Always great food and pleasant service and you just can’t go wrong with Georgian wine.
Good food. Interesting menus. Large portions. Bring your appetite!
Best food and service I have had in a long time! Strongly recommend it!
Everything was great, except some of the food from the menu wasn’t available.
Love this place! Great food and great service!
Nice clean looking place. The server was very helpful. The food was fresh and very well prepared. The food was good and filling. Somehow it made me feel like home cooking, if I were Georgian.
The veggie flatbread was very nice for an appie. We ordered the kebabs of pork and chicken which had great flavour but very little meat for the price point. The sides are ala carte, rice or a potato dishes which are over $5, we had sweet potato fries. If not for the flatbread, we would’ve left hungry.
Unfortunately my wife uses a walker so we were in a bit of shock when we arrived to see a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. Had I known about the flight of stairs, I certainly would not have booked this restaurant for my birthday party.
With some help from your staff, my wife was able to get up the stairs and we had a very nice dinner.
A Tuesday outing for dinner. Restaurant was very quiet. It is family run and the food reflected the personal touch. Georgian food was totally new to us but the waiter explained the dishes to us and made suggestions. Started with the pickled herring appetizer, with one of their breads. Not as pickly as we were used too but good. They encourage sharing of dishes so we did that. Had a pork skewer dish, dumplings with 2 beef and 2 mushroom, a chicken dish with a garlic cream sauce which was very good and finally a dish described as lamb stew. The latter dish had very nice flavours, but it was more soup-like. All in all, a pretty good meal and intro to Georgian cuisine.
Great food ..... although too much. Get Chris to be your server if you want the whole experience.
Great home cooked quality! The baked breads with cheese were delicious enough to order double. We will definitely be back and have referred this restaurant to all our friends.
They add alot to the restaurant complement on Corydon. Authentic food and proud, engaged staff. Highly recommended!!
None of us had eaten Georgian food before and were pleasantly surprised. The cuisine was like a cross between Easter European and Middle Eastern food. Everything was very fresh and had a home-made flavour. Portion sizes were generous. We would definitely return.
Really enjoyed the khachapuri imeruli, chkmeruli was fantastic. Sauce was great with the rice. Wife loved the chicken shashlik. Was all kind of family style so think it might be fun for a group.
