Both myself and my daughter had the most amazing evening. Even though it was extremely busy the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. A truly authentic Spanish evening, perfect. Highly recommended, we can’t wait to return, I just wish we lived closer.
Lovely food! Paella was lush! Nice wine selection
Great food, service was great. Just had a really relaxed time with lots of small plates and wine. Perfect for date night.
Very disappointed with the food , after reading the reviews was expecting better.
Excellent food, great wine and a very nice ambiance. The Paella was exceptional. Would really recommend it.
Would reccomend, great food and service. Booked outside seating but was raining so was offered a table indoors!
Table was 30 minutes late. Took 15 mins to be served drinks and had to ask to order food. Nothing was offered to us due to the inconvenience of the delayed table.
Music was too quiet so no real atmosphere.
Staff seemed stressed, didn’t talk or explain what dishes they brought over when they brought it.
please remember we are in covid times...
3 of the 7 dishes we ordered were not available
too slow & they turned away a lot of people - they really needed another couple of members of staff
what we ate was fantastic.
Our first visit here, not sure what to expect.. only one toilet that was shared , and wasn’t clean.. no door handle on door. Had plenty of tapas in past but this wasn’t great. Overcooked prawns over cooked octopus. All dishes seemed to be swimming in grease. Don’t think we’d go back which is a shame
Lovely food and great prices. A few things out of stock. Waitress was awful. Didn't say a word to us or tell us what food she was delivering. Just left it on the table and walked away.
Excellent food and wine. Thank you so much for a lovely lunch
I’m a Spaniard myself and I found the food here pretty good. A bit overpriced in my view, but a good choice to have some delicious tapas. Good variety and nice atmosphere. Service was also very good. In a nice central area as well. Would definitely recommend.
Great experience as always! We dine here on a regular basis and always love it!
Enjoyable lunch would be happy to recommend to friends
Food very bland, feel like I could have made tastier food at home. The prawns pil pil in so much oil it turned both our stomachs. Service- nothing to write home about.
Really lovely place, food was amazing. Will be back :)
Fantastic food and service.
Couldn't ask for more as all was spot on
Great service . Good food and a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. thank you.
Excellent food, atmosphere and service overall. Great.
Lovely tapas meal with my son. Food was delicious.
Great Tapas & good value for money. Location was very central.
The food was some of the worst I’ve ever eaten. Definitely the worst food I’ve had out in recent memory. Everything was over cooked, lacked any sort of flavour and tasted like it had been microwaved to death. Paella tasted like it was mostly uncle Ben’s rice. Potatoes were edible. Left most of what we ordered but enjoyed the wine. Toilets were filthy.
Brilliant tapas restaurant in the heart of Cardiff. Food is excellent and the staff are friendly & efficient. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend!
Food was out of this world amd the service was fantastic will definitely be visiting again soon 🙂
Good food, lovely staff, and nice atmosphere. Will be back again soon
It was a nice time out. The food was good overall but there is still place for improvement. Service was very good!
Excellent service and once again the food was outstanding. We were obviously sat outside but the staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Always impressed with Santiago’s but yesterday more than ever!!
Very good meal with great service. Highly recommend the Sangria and the Croquetas
Ambience was out of staff control as very limited number of outside tables allowed. We would have stayed longer if they hadn't needed to limit reservation times. In spite of covid restrictions, food and service excellent. Would definitely return.
We had a great time here, highly recommend! The food was lovely and the staff were friendly, can’t wait to go back.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food, some pricing doesn’t make sense, staff friendly but seemed stressed, took a while before we got anything and never got the chance to order a second drink.
Superb experience despite needing to dine outdoors because of current Covid restrictions. great waiters, quick service and very tasty food (tapas).
Fantastic food but because of
Covid regulations had to eat outdoors and some form of outdoors heating would have been welcome!
Absolutely amazing food. Great atmosphere, staff very welcoming and accommodating. Chorizo & calamari were soo tasty! Will be back again soon.
Delicious and well presented food, excellent service
Lovely staff 10/10 - delicious food and one the wait staff were so friendly. I recommend the meatballs and the patatas bravas
Service was excellent and food was delicious, especially the calamari! Olives were also great. Overall pretty good value as the tapas plates were bigger than expected (we got 5 dishes between 2 and that was plenty). Would definitely recommend and visit again!
Staff are really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food is generous and delicious. This is simple, traditional tapas. No surprises, nothing fancy, just really tasty food. Drink selection is good. Atmosphere outside was nice, the street is lively with bars and people walking through. The inside of the restaurant when open is lovely and relaxed. There is some shelter outside but might not be the best in very bad weather. A lovely choice for a really sociable meal with reasonable prices.
I was looking forward to this booking being the first time I'd been out dining since last year but must say I was quite disappointed.
I opted for the lunch time special of 2 tapas and a small drink. Firstly the restaurant was out of cider so I asked for an elderflower tonic which was also out stock. Considering it was 12 midday and they had only just opened I was surprised that they did not have these in stock.
Secondly the food was unfortunately below par. The paella of the day was chicken and chorizo and only 2 tiny pieces of chorizo on it and the rice was not paella rice, in fact I'd go as far as saying it looked and tasted exactly like Uncle Ben's golden vegetable packet rice. The patatas bravas were also disappointing. These were not as I have experienced when holidaying in Spain, they were basically glorified chips with garlic mayonnaise skirted over them.
All in all I failed to get the authentic Spanish cuisine I was hoping for.
nlikely to return or recommend this establishment.
Been here many times, always great food and very pleasant atmosphere. Service great despite being busy (even under current limitations).
