Enjoyed brunch last weekend for my husbands birthday! The food was great and portion sizes out of this world huge! We were 1 of only 2 tables inside at the time and 2 outside, however service was slow and we sat with empty drinks for quite a while before our server came back to check on us.
We loved the nachos with pulled chicken, my husband got a breakfast burrito and we got my son the french toast- all was delicious! I got what was described as a “mexican pizza” with al pastor on it and it was good but extremely hard to eat as it came out the size of a pizza but not cut at all. I do realize that cutting it would crack and crunch some of the edge but when something that big is coming out, it should be cut to make for easier eating for your customer.
Also it was eerily quiet in the restaurant, maybe turn the music up a little so its not so awkwardly quiet?
I love sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender is they are always pleasure
Good food and great service. The new restaurant is beautiful. We highly recommend.
new space is very inviting, food was good, I felt the regular margarita was a little weak. Overall nice to see them open again
My wife and I dined at the previous incarnation of Santa Fe many times without complaint. I understand the staff is inexperienced and new and the place is popular, but we had a very poor experience last Friday night. We had a reservation and were shown to a table that had not be cleaned .We had to make two requests to get someone to just wipe the table down much less sanitize it. We ordered cocktails and an appetizer to split. The appetizer arrived before the drinks and the server asked us for our entree orders . We ordered but asked specifically that they hold off bringing any additional food until we had an opportunity to finish our drinks and appetizer. The entrees showed up less than 5 minutes later and we were given the bill shortly thereafter without requesting it. The focus clearly was to turn the table over as quickly as possible regardless of our efforts to enjoy our meal.
On an unrelated note,we sat outside and watched numerous patrons dodging traffic on a very busy Pennsylvania Avenue both coming to and leaving Santa Fe.That appears to be a recipe for disaster.
Hello DEdiner, we are sorry to hear about your experience. As we go through our opening weeks we are working hard to find tuning to our timing at the bar and the kitchen. I have passed the feedback to our management team and they will address your feedback during our continuing training sessions. Also, we will continue to inform guests about our private parking garage inside the building so they dont have to cross Pa Ave. Thank you for reaching out and we hope to see you again!
Welcome back Santa Fe! The food was great and the new restaurant was beautiful. It was so great to have you back in the neighborhood. Please bring back your shrimp tacos and sangaritas. We miss them
Staff was very accommodating. Great drinks food and service. I think we can add this to our list of local hangouts!
Terrible selections for kids, took forever to check in despite FOUR people behind host stand, waiter didn’t write anything down, couldn’t find a server for 10 minutes, and to top it off SALTIEST meal I’ve had in 5 years. Was hoping for the best, but not gonna return now. Too many good choices in town.
They were amazing and very accommodating
Hats off to Sante Fe, it’s so good to have you back!!!! Food was amazing!!! Service was amazing!!!! Already ha e my reservation for next weekend!
Good food and service. Hostess Claire was outstanding and found us a great table on such a busy night.
Very happy with the experience. The building is incredible and food was great. Nice outdoor seating.
I was celebrating my engagement, we requested to sit outside and they were able to seat us outside! Yay.
But no one said congrats, nothing was actually special about our night out which sucks because this is the first time we’ve gone out since February (I had a baby in February ) so this was suppose to be a celebration dinner, so we’re a bit disappointed that our server didn’t mention anything.
We got churros and they were slightly under done.
But everything else was amazing.
Superb better experience than former location the new restaurant is top notch & we will be visiting a lot!!
The enchiladas were great but the other 3 burritos were cold inside. My friends didn’t want to send them back because it was very busy! Great outdoor seating but a bit loud on the street. We will be back though!
The Honey Chipotle wings were phenomenal!!! Derron is an amazing server or see Alexis at the bar! All the food was great!
We love Santa Fe in Newark and are so happy to have them closer in Wilmington!! Great service and amazing food and drinks!
First time at the new location. We were very impressed with everything.
The food was excellent. My partner avoids gluten, and was pleased with all the gluten free options and accommodations with substitutions without gluten.
A great new restaurant in Wilmington. The food was great and the prices are reasonable. My only comment involved the service. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine before we put in our dinner order. The wine did not arrive until we were about half way through the meal.
They have just opened their doors and were in a soft opening mode. It was quite busy and clearly there is pent up demand for relatively upscale Mexican. It was our first time there, and they offered a complimentary queso sampler. This was a good move as it was outstanding, and we will definitely order when we return. Our server was super nice and helpful. They appeared to have a lot of staff training, so was a bit loud and felt as though staff was all around you but to be understood this first week. I got a taco dish with salmon, bacon, pickled onion and some other items that was outstanding. Great portion size and extremely flavorful to include homemade tortillas that had nice seasoning . I would reorder without hesitation. My wife got a black bean chimmi that was huge. She really enjoyed it but couldn’t finish. The new decor, outdoor seating and open air bar were all well done. My only criticism is that the drink rack blocks the view of the TV at the bar when you are sitting at high tops. This layout isn’t conducive to getting drinks and watching a game. I would consider removing it. Bar drinks were good and well crafted. Bartender seemed really professional and was keeping up with a busy restaurant. We will go back soon
So many staff wandering aimlessly..yet service was so slow and horrible. Crowded bar area with no social distancing guidelines. Food took literally one hour to come out of the kitchen. We won’t be returning.
The service was exceptional. We ordered the guacamole dip which was so fresh! Our group ordered the chicken quesadillas, chimichanga, street corn salad and street corn. We were all satisfied with our meals. Everything was delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
