Amazing sushi from chef Ryuchi Nakano
And great service from crew
Always very attentive!
Our only go to place for Sushi.
Great service, Dahlia was amazing.
And the fish was fresh, delicious and was a wide variety.
The Omakase was so good! Best sushi I’ve had in a few years.
So happy Edmonds has a sushi house!! This place is amazing. Fresh, consistent and friendly.
The Viking roll was one of the most unique and delicious sushi rolls I have ever tasted. The chef is personable and a true master. I will definitely be returning!
Food very yummy! Rolls were great and we loved the tempura brussel sprouts!
What a wonderful addition to the Edmonds downtown area. Wonderful food and dining experience. Would recommend!
An ok sushi spot but with the competition I would say Sankai was only average. The Tempura green bean app was great. The nigiri was ok. The sushi rice was pretty good but not outstanding. I had a great Northwest roll but it didn't impress me and wish I had tried a spider roll. Very small tables and somewhat noisy inside. The bar looked to have more space so would be the way to go if I go back. Nothing unique and only average sushi. For the quality and the value there are better sushi places up the hill from Edmonds in both Lynnwood and Everett that I find to be better.
Went with a girlfriend for dinner, service was awesome...great suggestions for sake to pair with food and some of the best sashimi I have eaten in Seattle. DEFINITELY make a reservation, even on a week night, as restaurant is very small. Loved this spot and will be back soon!
Sushi is perfection!
The Chocolate Mousse is unbelievably good! Best ever!
All food and waitstaff wonderful. Pricey but fabulous.
Great setting in the restaurant. It is not a big place. If you are looking for a cozy and comfortable setting and good food, this is the place.
wonderful sushi - fish and preparation is excellent, love the chef and the owners, so proud of this place in our town! would love a little more elbow room when dining, but so glad it’s popular!!! i couldnt recommend this place more
The food was exceptional. Very sophisticated preparation. Kasu cod was the only dish we didn’t absolutely love. Highly recommend.
Great food and experience. Would definitely recommend.
This was our first time here. We will definitely go back. Everything was fresh and tasted good. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about their selections.
We were in on a quiet night with a three month old, and without asking they seated us with extra space so we could lay the baby down if they wanted a wiggle. The rolls were excellent, as were the small plates. We'll definitely be back.
The food and service are outstanding!! I wish the Michelin people covered our region because this place would be sure to get a STAR!!
Just.Incredible. Everything we ordered was very good and the service was friendly. Would highly recommend for a birthday or celebration.
Once again an excellent meal at SanKai. Had the Sashimi Salad, Seattle and Bracket's Landing rolls and sashimi scallops and oysters. All was very good! Good service and pleasant atmosphere.
Was disappointed on our Omakase experience. It was more like a Sasimi combo plate all came at once, instead a few pieces at a time. We also waited over 20 min for a simple bowl of Udon noddle.
Not only was the food amazing, so was the service and ambiance. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. We will for sure be back!
Outstanding restaurant. Will definitely come again and will definitely recommend to others.
Though a spendy meal, it was high quality meal. The chef choice gave my husband 11 different pieces of sushi. I only like cooked sushi, but found an interesting choice to try out. The best sushi place we have ever dined at.
Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and responsive to requests. The monkfish was delicious as were the green beans. Really liked the plum wine. My out of state guest loved the sushi rolls we ordered. I will bring more visitors to enjoy eating here.
Food was over priced and the food was meh. There were good items but a lot of underwhelming items and a unnecessary amount of micro greens on things. I will say, the Wild West roll was a pleasant surprise and was pretty unique though!
The chefs special is a great exploration of what they have to offer. Try the geoduck small plate, you won't be disappointed.
We were disappointed that they sat a party of 4 at the bar and not a table. The service was seriously lacking. The nigiri was tasty but overall a little disappointing.
Ask for trumpet fish; get it if they have it. Other faves were marinated ikura, fluke, Brussels sprouts, sweet shrimp and head, the coffee jelly dessert, and the Bubbies mocchi. All sushi was excellent.
We were out on our first date in a long time. New parents. Feels wrong indulging in sushi when the sustainability of the fish is in question. Our kid might grow up and never experience the seafood bounty that we take for granted in the form of occasional sushi binges. So, I encourage all seafood places to source with ethics top of mind.
Fantastic date night or with a small group. Space is small but service and food are fantastic. Noise level is pretty high (at times I struggled to hear across the table) but didn't put a damper on our evening.
It took a long time to get a reservation, but well worth the wait. Everything was topnotch. I have lived and worked in Japan and San Kai is up there with the best ever.
Some of the dishes were a good quality and some were mediocre. The restaurant is pricy and I don’t think the quality warrants the price. We may try the Happy Hour at some point.
A wonderful first experience, we got a little bit of everything from apps and sashimi to rolls and nigiri. The fish was all very fresh, very interesting rolls with some unique pairings of flavors. It was a very nice atmosphere as well. I can't wait to go back and try more! To happy to finally have a nice sushi spot in Edmonds.
We absolutely love this new sushi restaurant in Edmonds, WA. The chef makes fabulous preparations and has such amazing fresh products. It is our new go to sushi place. You just need to plan ahead. They book up quickly and it a very intimate place.
We had excellent service and delicious food. The recommendations from the wait staff were right on. We were celebrating an event and we’re surprised with a wonderful complementary dessert.
Food was amazing, vibe was excellent. We look forward to next time. Excited to have a great sushi restaurant in Edmonds
Excellent service, nice small quiet spot. Wasn't wowed by the sushi but it was good. Prices were very reasonable and on par with the quality. Would go back!
Finally! Amazing sushi in Edmonds. We found our favorite rolls: Great PNW, San Kai, and caterpillar. Great service from the moment we walk in the door. I also discovered a tea that I love, roasted green or hojicha. Thank you!!
