Beautiful outdoor dining patio -great value pre-theater — we did prix fix menu and enjoyed the selection
We went to Sangria 46 after the theater...two couples celebrating 2 birthdays. We were seated in the beautiful outdoor space in the back. The indoor restaurant was very full and quite loud but our area was much quieter. The wait staff was attentive...although there was a wait for the delicious peach strawberry sangria. We had a variety of orders with the beet salad being a standout. It had almonds and delicious goat cheese croutons. We also enjoyed skirt steak, lamb chops as well as seafood paella. I must say I preferred the paella Valenciana that I had previously as I am not a mussel fan and the seafood version had many...along with tasty calendar clams and shrimp. It was huge. They brought out Apple pie on decorated birthday plates with candles for a fun finish. I would certainly recommend this restaurant...our third time there on theater visits. Thank you Sangria 46!!
Great spot for South American/Spanish food. The paella was out of this world and the Mariscada might be the best value in NY. The sangria, naturally, was excellent. Great atmosphere (the outdoor patio was a nice surprise) and service.
Went to Sangria 46 on a weekday night. Great location in the theater district. We did not order entrees. Classic sangria and tapas was perfect. The chorizo, tortilla, eggplant. Garlic shrimp and asparagus were delicious!
Shrimp sauteed in garlic was average. Came in a red sauce
Spicy sausage tapas Excellent!
Good dinner with hefty portion. Not gourmet, but really tasty and flavorful, and these are not gourmet prices so it’s a really good value. Servers were very friendly and seemed to have fun working here - they kept dancing to the excellent background music. Sangria was excellent and a good amount for the price. We go to dinner and a show in nyc every few months and really glad we found this place. Highly recommend.
Authentic Spanish cuisine: tapas, entrees, desserts, great sangria. I got the prefixe menu: mussels tapa, poached salmon entree, flan dessert, and a margarita that was strong! Our server was very helpful and fun. The ambiance was casual and inviting. Great restaurant!
I can always count on wonderful service, good food and fabulous drinks and wine at this restaurant at a reasonable price.
Not authentic tapas restaurant. Disappointed overall. We will not go back.
I've been there many times and I've never been disappointed!! Bartender is amazing too!!
Our go to for Spanish Tapas in Hell's Kitchen. Never disappointed. Great for celebrating. Music on Monday nights. A great touch.
Always great food and service
We returned to Sangria 46 while in NYC after two years since our last trip. The food and service were just as good as we remembered. The sangria is delicious. Great value. Love the outdoor seating in the courtyard. We will definitely come back on our next trip!
Friendly service with big smiles. Great tapas and wide variety.
Everything was fantastic- great food, great service, great price. Highly recommend!
We usually get the tapas here which we love but this time we each got an appetizer and meal. The mussels and beet salad were excellent and large servings. I got the salmon over risotto which was delicious as well. The portions were more than adequate. The homemade flan was worth every calorie!
Food was delicious. Server was attentive. Great meal and great time. Would def come again
Excellent Spanish style food in a nice location near all the theatres. Food was excellent as was the service. Outdoor dining was a nice treat. Authentic tapas were a treat.....our dinner was a selection of only tapas. One thing, my beer was not cold enough..,but sangria was.
Been here quite a few times. Food is ok, but a little overpriced, especially considering the competition of other restaurants nearby. I wouldn’t suggest the sangria, since it is pre-made with lots of ice which waters down the flavor 👎. The positioning of the tables is narrow, so you will get a lot of people bumping in to you. I would suggest sitting in the back open courtyard or the tables on the left side of the restaurant when walking towards the back, which gets less direct foot traffic.
We will probably not return. Time to explore other options, especially ones that make fresh sangria.
Great tapas (large & small portions) selection and they also have full meals. We had the red sangria - very good, but I thought it could use more citrus fruit. It was a cold wet night and we both ordered the black bean soup. This was basic black bean soup, no toppings or anything else, and it was very tasty and just what we were looking for. The salmon tapas plate was great, tasty and filling. We would definitely go there again!
Always love sangria 46 for pre theater or just a fun dinner out.
Came here for my wife’s birthday on a Saturday night around 9pm. Wasn’t very crowded, about half full. Tapas and Sangria were great as well as our server. Ambiance was lacking, could have used some entertainment.
We were heading to the theatre so I got to the restaurant a little early. I’m glad I did because it takes 30 minutes for the ch FSU to make any of the rice dishes and we wanted paella. Our waiter recommended sharing a single serving of paella and getting some tapas. Great recommendation! We had a couple of the special tapas and seafood paella, along with the red sangria. Perfect dinner. Did not have to rush and had a wonderful meal! Will be going back.
Recomendable, buena comida y servicio rápido, eficaz y amable.
Empanadas were burned. Stuffed mushrooms were burned. We received new empanadas but we're told that is how the mushrooms were prepared and offered something else. We didn't order a replacement. Later perfectly cooked and very delicious stuffed mushrooms were delivered to our table. The other tapas were good.
I have been here twice before. My parents and sister were visiting from out of town so I brought them here since they enjoy Tapas and Paella. My Dad and Mom said it was the best they have ever had. Our waitress was very helpful in guiding us to the right portion size. It was also crowded but the food was brought out fast. The only negative was being seated at the table right by the door leading to the patio. It was very closed in. With the waiters going in and out from the patio it felt very tight. Thankfully they let us move to an outside table. Absolutely delicious food. I will be back. I want to try a Monday night when they have live music and dancing.
Great patio, paella and Sangria. A theater district must.
In for Saturday matinee. Birthday lunch. Very quiet at lunch time/pre theater, but lively day, nice outdoors, delicious food and sangria!
Went prior to a broadway show- service was quick, tapas were delicious and so was the sangria. Was super happy with the experience.
The food was simply delicious. Two of us had the amazing Paella and those who had salmon absolutely loved it.
This has been our go-to restaurant in the Theater District for years. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Can't wait to return!
My family who came from out of town, Italy, wanted to eat Spanish food before our show. The food was good, except for the mussels which tasted a bit fishy in our Paella. The only part of our meal that was not to their liking was the 20% mandatory tip that was added on to our bill for parties over five. I must be out of the loop when did it become 20%???
Great spot with delicious tapas options. Was there prior to attending a show but it’s a cute little happy hour spot or a great place to meet up with friends. Drink and food prices are reasonable and there was even some music about to start before we left.
Amazing experience here! We came after a broadway show and it was a blast. The sangria is truly excellent. The food is in large portions.
Good food and great service. Red sangria was delicious!
Went for pre-theatre. They’re not reinventing the wheel with their mostly old-school Spanish food but everything was good quality and well prepared. Grilled octopus with pesto was our favorite dish. It is noisy in the dining room, which could use a little updating/freshening. there is a garden in the back that I would sit in next time, weather permitting. Service was friendly, prices reasonable. They got us in and out in time to make our show.
First of all the food was excellent! Sangria was fruity goodness. The only drawback is don’t go right at 6:30-7:00 unless you are going to a show. ( even if you are going to a show, please go early. You will be stressed to get to the show on time and will miss the atmosphere ). Most of the customers we pressuring staff to get fed and get done before a show. We were in no such hurry so wasn’t a big issue but due to this the service was VERY slow until the show-gowers left. I will still go back but likely at a different time.
Very friendly atmosphere. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the bartender who was happy to See us. We sat in the back outside area which is very nice.
Our waiter made several recommendations for us and they were all spot on.
The white sangria was fabulous with slices of orange and apple, it was great and a hot summer night.
I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection.
I would definitely go back.
The food was wonderful and I loved sitting outside. The service was pretty slow, but everything else was fantastic.
