Sangria 46 Ratings and Reviews
Have been here twice, a few years apart and food has been pretty consistent. They have great sangria and a tasty saffron rice w/ chicken and chorizo that is baked like palella in a cast iron pan. Apps are tapas style, so smaller portions but the entrees are pretty generous and also tasty. We finished off our meal with tres leches which was also very good. Staff has always been friendly. Nothing fancy, but It's a hidden gem in NYC for authentic Spanish food.
We loved Sangria 46! They were able to accommodate our party of 8 comfortably. Service was wonderful and the wait staff very friendly. The original sangria was delicious as well as the food! The price fixe menu (or you could order a la carte) was a bargain and included a glass of sangria. We will definitely be dining here again!
This was a perfect find for a between show dinner. The menu has many options and each dish was delicious. The bacon wrapped dates and empanadas were two favorites. The paella was unbelievably large and very well prepared. (Allow time if you plan to order the paella, it is a 30-minute lead time). I dined with my daughters and we all enjoyed our orders. We hope to go back another time with more friends and family.
My mom and I stopped in for tapas and sangria at Sangria 49 after seeing a show on Broadway (can't beat the 5 minute walk from the theater!). We are both huge tapas fans and have lived in Spain, so we're all about authenticity. This place did not disappoint! We had about 5 plates of tapas and a pitcher of sangria, plus a plate of churros and we left feeling full without spending a ridiculous amount of money. The tapas were delicious and very authentic. When we first arrived (around 5pm on a Saturday), the restaurant was nearly empty, but by the time we left 90 minutes later, it was full, so I definitely recommend making a reservation! The only thing that could have been better was the service once it got busy. We had to wait a while to get our dessert and check - but the staff were all very friendly!
The restaurant is nicely decorated and the wait staff was very attentive. There was a delay in getting the food but the staff kept us informed of the progress, which was reassuring. We had the tapas and the food was just OK. There was a burnt or smoky taste to most of the dishes which was not as described or expected. There are many good tapas restaurants in NY and with other choices, I would not recommend Sangria 46.
Was perfect for my craving of Spanish food! Enjoyed excellent jamón serrano, chorizo, manchego and so much more along with a bottle of Spanish wine. followed up the appetizer with some excellent Spanish cuisine and desserts. The whole family was beyond happy and we will include this restaurant in our dinner plans next time we are in town. Staff were also excellent, we really appreciated all of there attention as no experience is complete without great service!
I took my wife and step daughter there the other evening. Very nice warm and welcoming folks who run the place and service was very good. We loved the sangria! Food was good but I had paella that was chocked full of seafood but needed a little salt and the rice was not crispy on the bottom the way it should be otherwise every one else was satisfied with their meals.
We arrived 20 minutes late for a reservation on a Saturday night before an 8:00 o'clock show. They held our table, which was lovely. They sprang to attention, got us our drinks and food with time to spare, which was great. It is something they probably do on a regular basis having to serve Broadway clientele. The drinks were good. The food was restaurant row quality, which is to say, edible but nothing to write home about. We do dine out quite frequently however, and probably have higher standards than some.
As the name suggests, there's a pretty wide selection of sangria flavors, both regular and sparkling. I got the strawberry & peach, and it was delicious. The prix-fixe menu is a great value and all of my food was perfect. This was my first time here because I had a gift card, and it has become a new favorite.
Our meals were delicious! The house dressing for the salad, included in the meal price, is made in-house and very tasty. I would duplicate my meal again, as would the rest of my party....all the dishes were that good. I had salmon prepared just the way I like it, and I didn't even say anything. My daughter had lobster ravioli, each ravioli had actual lobster, and my husband did not order from the lunch specials, had seafood paella. We ate lunch when they opened for the day and the service was super attentive. This is two thumbs-up recommendation.
My sister was in from out of town. She's a hardworking teacher so I really wanted her to have a great weekend. We were craving tapas all week long and Sangria 46 didn't disappoint. The stuffed mushrooms were incredible, the mango sangria delicious and the flan was the perfect ending to our meal. Thanks Sangria 46!
We've been at this restaurant at least 3 times in the past and it always meets our expectations with good food and service. This time, we were celebrating our Anniversary before attending a show. They gave us a complimentary desert (flan) which was great. The only negative is the Paella was a little bit too salty. Other than that a very good dining experience.
I went with a friend of mine, we were visiting from Canada. We really wanted sangrias, and at first we were slightly underwhelmed with the scenery, but still decided to give it a try. We sat outside on the patio, and everything turned out to be amazing. The food was INCREDIBLE!! The sangrias were delicious, and our server was hilarious. Would definitely recomment this to anyone :)
Great variety of tapas dishes, and the best sangria recipes (both red and white) that I have found in mid-town. Secret outdoor patio in the back is a real prize! No need to sit on the sidewalk and breathe exhaust fumes while thousands of people stampede past you. Worth it to skip the set price menu, and select from the extensive a la carte listing.
