Food was very good. Service a little slow as the restaurant was very busy, but not enough to complain. VERY HOT in the restaurant the evening we went; outside temp around 60/65. Arroz con Pollo had good flavor, although the chicken was a little bit dry. Good sized portion. The chips and salsa for $5 is a must as the chips are made in house and very good. Salsa was not too spicy. Red Sangria was very good. Good location - easy walk from most theaters and Times Square. Would go again.
Sangria 46 was AMAZING! The food is spectacular, the sangria is the BEST, and the service is top notch!
Nice little gem in the heart of the theater district. Great for before or after a Broadway play. Great food to share with a date or a bunch of friends. Fun atmosphere.
The food was great. I was surprised that my tea was 2.50 and 2.50 for each of my refills. It was very loud and the tables are squeezed into the room like sardines.
Great spanish food, waiter was great and took great care of us.
Favorite Go To place in the Theater District, Great Spanish Food, Great Service, Excellent recreation of a Spanish Bistro. Don't do Sangria, its' for Turistas, but Good Wines available at reasonable cost.
Our pre-show meal was super! We loved all the different small plates, and the timing on the service couldn’t have been better. The sangria was delicious, and the staff was awesome!
We have eaten here several times.......this time a disappointment.
Service was poor, tapas came out with great time between servings. One tapas never appeared.
Tip was put on without our consent.just a table of 4.
I will return in hopes that corrections, are made.
We came here after a show for an early dinner. Great selections on the menu. Three of us shared 8 different tapas plates and left the restaurant quite full and satisfied. All the food was outstanding. One of my new favorites.
Absolutely wonderful! Great tapas! And of course...the sangria!
Amazing food! Great service. Sangria was tasty. The outdoor space is quite nice.
Excellent we order calamaris, octupus and chuletitas de cordero.
First they lost the reservation, but seated us anyway when I showed them the confirmation. When we were ready to order, the manager took our very simple order, but this did not work out well—we waited almost an hour for our food, and it was only prepared when I /angrily) asked where it was. People that were seated after us were finished with their meals before we were even served! No effort was made to assuage our anger—they didn’t even offer us a complimentary cup of coffee. The food is good and the prices are reasonable, but my friend and I will not be going back to this restaurant any time soon.
Great , would go again! Great tapas , not expensive!
Stumbled upon Sangria 46 while in NYC for the night and will make this our place to go each time we head to the city. Great service, wonderful food, fun atmosphere!! Highly recommend!!
We were seated right away and mentioned to the water that we only had about 1 hr. before our show. He took our order right away. We had the chips and salsa/bread on the table. I had a Mojito which was very tart, but I liked it, it had plenty of mint. For the appetizer we shared the grilled octopus which was very good. I would have liked more of it. My entrée was one of the specials - it was filet of sole and some calamari and shrimp in a light pink sauce (can't remember what it was) served with rice. My friend had the lamb shank which he enjoyed, however the veggies were inedible. We didn't have time for dessert. I liked what we had, but didn't love it. The table next to us were ordering lots of tapas so maybe I would give it another try for that. The service was good, the bill was moderate.
We stopped in at Sangria 46 for lunch before a Broadway matinee. Great friendly service. Their red sangria is delicious! Two of us shared 3 appetizers, which was more than enough for lunch. Food is really great- very authentic Spanish dishes (I used to live in Barcelona). I highly recommend Sangria 46 if you’re in the neighborhood.
This is now my go-to before theatre. I've come to Sangria 46 twice, and it never disappoints! I will absolutely be back.
Nice place for a casual pre or post theater meal.
The food is good, the service is excellent and the Sangria is delicious!!
My daughter and myself went there to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful restaurant with great food and service. We both had the pre fixed lunch menu for $24.00 per person. It was delicious, good size portions and we each had a glass of Sangria. It is a rare find, to go to a restaurant in Manhattan that was extremely affordable and had wonderful food.
I told all my friends. Can't wait to go again!
Enjoyed before theater. The pulpo parilla always delicious. My friend enjoed the cava Sangria and shrimp ajillo. I had a mango sangria- goid but a but sweet and a pella rice dish. The paella criollos was shrimp chorizo plantains and red peppers in tomato based rice - delicious and should feed 2. Great meal
Service was good, staff was friendly and accommodating. However the biggest issue would be with the loud and thumping music that did nothing to create a more pleasant ambience. In addition the place was way too warm . More attention should be given to these elements, especially in an area with so many restaurant choices.
Mauricio at the bar was very social and entertaining! Valentino was very professional and looked to ensure guests were having a wonderful time. Fantastic food, so many options! And the sangria was incredible as the name of the restaurant would suggest! Looking forward to going back soon!
Wonderful food. Loved the mango sangria. Would definitely go back.
Consistently excellent food. The staff and owners are warm wonderful and welcoming. The kitchen delivers excellence every time. The pulpo is Devine, mussels succulent and delicious, Pailla is the best inManhsttan and beyond. Every mortal of the pailla is juicy and fresh. The rice is extraordinary and the seafood always juicy and perfectly prepared. The pork chop is fabulous.
This was our first time here. My husband and I were looking for kids free meal before the theater. We arrived at about 5:15 and our table was ready. After briefly living in Spain, I am always excited to have authentic Spanish food. We shared 6 different tapa dishes. They were all delicious. Our waiter Leo was very friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly but we didn’t feel rushed. We didn’t order all the tapas at once. We ordered a large picture of red sangria. It was great as well. However, would have like to have more fruit in it.
We were so full we skipped dessert. We left about 7:00
Service and some of the appetizers were good, but the filet mignon was definitely NOT a filet mignon just bad cut of meat. The yuca croquetas were amaizing for and also carne de Pecho
Excellent selection of tapas, good service, reasonable prices. Especially enjoyed the grilled cheese, garlic shrimp, grilled asparagus, and potato croquette. Bartender was particularly welcoming and we enjoy going back each time we go to the theater.
After car show all food great except pork chop, it was dry. My fault for ordering a pork chop at a Sangria restraint.
After reading a lot of very positive reviews both here and on Trip Advisor, we tried it as a pre-theatre dinner. Many of the places on restaurant row in the theatre district are average at best and over priced. Sangria 46 was neither. The food was excellent, the portion sizes were good, the sangria was excellent, the service was attentive and pleasant without being obtrusive, and they didn't rush us. This place is an excellent choice for pre or post theatre in NYC. Bravo!
This is our third time and we will be back always a great experience
Excellent food and service. Love the sangria too!!
Probably the worst tapas we’ve ever had, tasted like they used packaged meats and cheeses on the sampler plate, the almondigas ( meatballs) were served with a lump of white rice and what looked like frozen peas, and the bacon wrapped dates were mushy and greasy. They shouldn’t advertise this part of their menu , since this is just really another tourist trap for pre-theater diners who like pitchers of sangria and mediocre food and don’t know the difference . The first clue : a basket of tortilla chips and a couple of pieces of stale bread upon being seated .
We left hungry, disappointed, and angry with ourselves for believing there was a good tapas spot on restaurant row !
I've eaten here many times whenever I plan a trip to NYC. The food is as authentic as you can get without being in Spain. I love the owners' attention to detail and the friendly wait staff. Every trip to NYC includes a trip Sangria 46. I highly encourage to enjoy the paella - delicious!!!
Very friendly. Loved the food. And very convenient in mid-town. I would put it in the "hidden gem" category. They were also kind enough to let us linger.
Food was delicious, well seasoned and fun. We shared several tapas. The grilled cheeses, the calamari, the eggplant and the croquettes were so good. Sangria was strong and full of fruit. It was a cute and charming place. We were able to hang out and enjoy. Service was somewhat slow. I think it was a bit too busy. It was a good pre-theater meal.
We were both pleasantly surprised and would definitely visit again.
The tapas was excellent! We shared several different dishes... all very tasty! The paella was excellent. Cooked to perfection. We would return just for that and the tapas! Service was excellent and also great location close to the theater district nearby. We’all be back!
Food was good and the drinks were really good. A bit pricey but the portion sizes were large.
The octopus was the best I had I Mom my life and it’s one of my all time favorite dish, everything we tried had a nice touch to it and tasted excellent, looking. Fwd to going back.
