The octopus was the best I had I Mom my life and it’s one of my all time favorite dish, everything we tried had a nice touch to it and tasted excellent, looking. Fwd to going back.
A complete disappointment. You know how when you read review and there is also one person impossible to please? I am not that person. The front of the restaurant was shabby looking. I should have listened to my instincts and found another place. The menu was not authentic Spanish. It was more international- with a latin flavor. They brought chips and bread to table. Bread was stale. We had a bottle of wine- good wine good price and we ordered a meat and cheese app which was very very good. It went downhill after that. The waiter must have forgotten our order. We entered at 4:30 and the main course came an hour after the app. My husband filet was rare, mOOO rare. The waiter came by about 15 minutes after the food was delivered to see how it was. We were so disgusted by then, we got our bill paid and left. We left a 10% tip since we were in the food business and realize it takes more that a waiter to make a bad experience. Never again. I read many of the restaurants responses to negative feedback and their it seemed to be the same, we were so busy. Not a valid response.
Courteous and attentive staff. The food is excellent and a good value. Mariscada, a main dish of seafood either in hot (diablo) or ajillo (garlic) sauce is spectacular. Easily enough to share. All the tapas look great.
Delicious cerviche and fish. Quick service and great for pre-theater eating.
We shared an appetizer of calamari which was accompanied with a surprisingly delicious cucumber sauce. We both ordered the gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) which I always order at Sangria 46. Accompanied with plenty of mixed vegetables and rice, this dish certainly is filling with so many shrimp. Topping the dinner was a flan. The dining experience was enjoyable and pleasant. I did miss the freshly fried potato chips but the chips and salsa were fine. We'll be back.
As always, Sangria 46 has great tapas dishes, and a friendly staff. This was not our first visit. We have been going for over 6 years.
Loved the food and the attentive staff- sangria was delicious
Staff was extraordinarily pleasant and accommodating. Atmosphere felt comfortable and warm. Menu offerings before the theater pris fixe were good. Sangria was not exceptional but the flan was. Comfortable for a lady waiting alone. Would be nice to come back on a summer night for the patio.
Best paella ever!
Had an early evening dinner here on the outside patio area in the back. There were two of us and ordered 4 appetizers, which were brought out 2 at a time. This allowed us time to finish the first two plates and not having a crowded table. The waiter was attentive and food was excellent. We very much enjoyed the sausage and onions and shrimp in garlic sauce.
My wife and I had a great lunch. The grilled octopus and pesto was perfect. I look forward to going to Sangria 46 again.
Good food - interesting selection and good quality. A bit noisy but fine for a small group of people. Good value. Definitely would return.
I have been here many times and it is always an enjoyable experience.
We were post theater. I suggest the staff be more excited about the business!! Treat your guest like you want them to return.
Service was good and food was fine but it was too loud. Making for an unpleasant experience.
Enjoyed very much very good Spanish Mexican food.good selection
Far too cramped, noisy and hot - this significantly impacted the overall dining experience.
Delicious as always!!
We were seated in a back corner which probably made the noise level a bit more bearable. First waitress we had must have been new because when we put in our drink order another came back to ask specific questions about our orders. We had a couple of appetizers which were good. We shared two different paella meals with the extra lobster. I’d skip the lobster in the future but the paellas were excellent. I’ve been here several times and will continue to go there. Sangrias are wonderful and food is consistently good.
I didn’t love the vibe, the food, the decor or the service. It was serviceable as a convenient meet up spot, but I would not recommend it to anyone. Our server took forever to bring my friend a simple glass of water. He brought the wine for two other guests before attending to the request of my friend, who asked for water in order to help her stop coughing. I was not impressed.
This was a pre-theater meal so we got there a little early. The service was fast and friendly. They never rushed us although the restaurant was packed. We both had chicken dishes which were excellent. The fish looked great but we were having a sushi party the next night so we didn't want to order that. We will definitely come back to enjoy the fish dishes. The table next to us had grilled octopus and shrimp and they said it was great.
We have dined many times at Sangria 46. We usually order the same group of delicious dishes however on this evening we tried a new entree. So go and enjoy, and experiment with new dishes and be wowed like we were with the pork chops. Excellent grilling and tender meat with onions, vegetables and potato. We ate it along side the mussels Diablo which was an excellent combination. The grilled octopus is heaven on earth too.
Came here before theater and had a fabulous tapas dinner served by Valentino who was a wonderful and friendly waiter. Their wine list and menu featured very affordable items and we had a wonderful collection of 6 different tapas and a bottle of wine which we enjoyed very much. We did not try the sangria because it was 16 degrees outside and we need a nice warm, spicy red to warm us up and they had plenty for us to choose from.
Pre-Broadway dinner, wonderful, seated immediately, great service, even read anniversary comment I made on open table and dressed up the dessert, very nice.
The food was excellent and the price was right.. We went on a Tuesday from work.. It was quiet and the server was very good..
Overall, the dining experience was below average. Service was average, food was below average. The mussels on the tapas/appetizers list was very good, the shrimp ajillo was also well cooked but had too much garlic for my taste (even though it was a garlic sauce). The beef empanadas and arroz con pollo were terrible. Empanadas were soggy .. rice was undercooked and uneven. Both were bland. Sangria was also average. Will not be returning and there are much better restaurants to go to in that area.
Loved everything we had! Great value for the price and serving sizes for the tapas were larger than expected. The only bad thing I could say is that it was a tad warm in the restaurant. I would absolutely dine here in the future. We got there about half an hour before our reservation on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us right away anyway!
I Always judge a restaurant if I ask my self would I come back. I would definitely come back. When we(wife) first arrived the place looked a little sketchy. But after walking in you could tell this place was hip and cool. The food was absolutely amazing. Appetizers were so delicious. Grilled octopus with chick peas. For dinner we got paella and churrasco steak. The paella is a meal for two people by itself. Presentation was beautiful and the aroma made me more hungrier when they arrived with the food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Last but not even close to being least, the sangria. They have a great selection of sangrías. We ordered the strawberry - peach sangria. Tasted like summer. This place is definitely a good spot.
My first time here. It was quiet at lunch-time on a Saturday - easy to get a table prior to seeing a 2pm show. Excellent variety on both the food and wine menu; nice portions. I would definitely return!
A vibrant, and obviously popular restaurant. Close to the theater district, although the clientele looked more like locals and it didn't give the feel of a tourist "trap".
Great choice of tapas and sangrias of every size and flavor.
The tables are very close, which may be the only drawback.
Would go back.
Been there before. Food is excellent and service is fast especially before going to a show.
The recommendations for the food was just as great as they tasted. Definitely a place to celebrate, have tapas and most importantly have FUN!! The pitchers of Sangria were AWESOME...well worth the price!
This was our second time at Sangria 46 and it was as good as the first time. Sangria is amazing and the food was all delicious. Great service.
We went to this restaurant so my husband could have authentic paella. It lived up to his expectations! Excellent, fresh food at a great price!
Made a reservation, got there a bit early but still got sat right away. Service was great and the food was amazing. We also split a pitcher of sparkling sangria that was also delicious. Even though the place was small and a bit tight fitting and the noise could be up there, i still completely recommend this place to anyone who loves good food and sangria
Such a fun restaurant! We had their wonderful sangria, accompanied by some tasty tapas. We especially loved the mini chorizos, the dates wrapped in bacon, the meatballs and the shrimp ajillo. We ended with the flan which was perfect.
I selected Sangria 46 for pre-theater dinner. This is a cozy space, with fairly low ceilings -- it was packed and very lively / noisy initially. After a birthday group departed the neighboring table, it was pleasantly vibrant. Service was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. We had tapas as starters - the gambas al ajillo were excellent, bacon-wrapped figs very good. We shared a paella valenciana as our main -- very good but somehow seemed like the rice had not fully absorbed the flavors initially. We had the cheese platter instead of dessert -- the presentation was outstanding and the cheeses ranged from excellent to fairly good. We had a very nice bottle of rioja reserva to drink. I thought the bill represented very good value for money for the location. We were delighted with the experience overall and highly recommend this vibrant and friendly Spanish restaurant as a fun and delicious part of a night out.
Another super wonderful meal at Sangria 46! Always a warm friendly greeting at the door, you are made to feel like best friends right away. The food is consistently fantastic, fresh, colorful and well prepared and presented. The absolute best paella ever. Moist rice and perfectly cooked seafood, never dry soothes the soul with every bite. We love the staff and owners who all work in concert with one another every day to enhance your dining experience. The empowerment of excellence in the dining room and kitchen is magnificent.
This was a great restaurant for dinner before the theatre.
