We are celebrating our 2.4 anniversary. Excellent food and service. Thanks Valentino and Linda for your awesome service. We came from Barcelona in September and most say the food here is excellent. Sangria better than some places in Barcelona. The eggplant with goat cheese to die for
The staff was attentive and courteous. Our tapas came out perfect! Delicious and savory.
I haven’t been to Sangria in years. The last time it was summer and the weather was good and we ate here before going to a Broadway musical. This time I ate during lunch on a very cold day and the shrimp in garlic sauce was not the same. Very disappointing and not very much garlic. The lamb chops were good but I think the server forgot I ordered it until I asked for them. The chops were tasty but extremely rare. The spinach and asparagus were way over cooked hiding under the cheese. I like my vegetables al dente so don’t order this dish unless you like your vegetables this way. The jalapeños with cheese were good but I would have liked more cheese inside. There are so many great restaurants in NYC I will try a new place next time I’m in town.
Great little smalls plates, down to earth atmosphere, nice wine selections by the glass. Great for pre or post theater when you don't want a huge meal.
A well placed and well paced pre-theater restaurant with some very tasty tapas. It is tightly packed, slightly chaotic, but efficient and satisfying. Beet salad amazing.
A great night and great food. Seating was a little tight but a nice feel
Food and Sangria never disappoint! The staff is just wonderful.
Food was good. Not as described on the menu on some items.
My wife and I ordered tapas, a salad and empanadas along with a great sangria. Everything was delicious except the empanadas. Too spicy and soggy for our liking but that's ok. Service was great too!
Consistently excellent food excellent service and the always warm and friendly reception bring us back again and again. The grilled octopus is fabulous as is the lamb shank and pork chop. Every plate comes out with a wonderful balance of vegetable and potato. Their meatballs melt in your mouth too. Go and enjoy this great restaurant and one of the best values in the city.
Delicious food, large portions
We eat here a several times a years. This was a Monday & they were very busy. The service was disorganized and very slow -- we told the waiter we had a show at 7:30, but it took 40 minutes for the appetizers to come (only soup & a salad) and another 30 minutes for the entrees to arrive. That left us with 15 minutes to eat. We did not have time to finish our meals. There was no apology from the waiter. Very disappointing and we'll have to rethink whether we'll ever go back.
Took out of town family to this gem recently. Exceptional service by staff. After a delicious tapas board we shared an outstanding seafood paella cooked to perfection with bountiful seafood. Recommend the red sangria which was delicious. Will definitely go back for another wonderful dining experience.
Sangria 46 is a gem of a restaurant. The seating at the bar is fine if you don’t want the noise of the dining room.
The tapas were great and so was the house made Sangria! The tamarind chicken was very good as well.
As a plus the bartender Mauricio is awesome!!! Attentive, funny and he made the dinner a special treat! I will definitely go back!!!!
The restaurant ran out of risotto? The place opens at noon. My reservation was for 12:15 pm this is unacceptable!!! The Valenciana paella was good
The white sangría was terrible...
Everything is good. Serving is just right. Highly recommended
Overall the food and the service at the restaurant are fine. The downside is that on Friday evening the noise level was uncomfortable. It was difficult to have a conversation with the others at a table for four people. I would return to the restaurant but probably during a less crowded mid-week time.
Excellent food, gracious servers, great sangria.
We have visited this restaurant several times and it's one of our favorites when visiting NYC. We ordered the tapas for the first time and all were truly delicious. However, the orders came out too quickly despite asking for slightly slower service. Not a huge problem, but the wait staff seemed annoyed at the request. The hostess was truly lovely and professional, and it remains one of our favorite choices.
What fun. Waiter was sooooo good. Six of us had tapas - three rounds. So much fun
Bustling theater crowd on a Friday night. Loud and busy. Food was good, not great. Enjoyed our time there
We enjoyed a nice pre-theater dinner of tapas, and while nothing was truly outstanding, the food was good and the service was very pleasant and accommodating. We did sample a couple of sangrias (the red and the strawberry/peach), and they were great. Strangely, though, my husband was charged a dollar more for the glass he had at the bar ($9) than what the menu lists and what we were charged at the table ($8). We weren't going to make a fuss over a buck, but that's funky.
My husband and I decided to head to the city for a daytime date. We did a little research for Spanish cuisine and came across this place. OMG! Delicious. The menu was extensive, the sangria was great and the Paella was enough to share especially after ordering a few small plates and chips and salsa. It does take a 1/2 hour to prepare the paella, so order a few small plates, sip some sangria and wait for the Finale!
It was fun and reasonably priced. We'll be back.
We really liked the welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Wish I remembered our waiter's name. He was so helpful and patient, and his recommendations were great. All the tapas that we ordered (there were 4 of us - 8 tapas?) were delicious, and the bottle of Spanish red wine was perfect. We were there before theater and will definitely return!
Very busy before show. Felt like on a cruise ship.
The food was wonderful, the service top-notch but it was VERY noisy! If it had been a bit warmer, we would have sat in their outdoor dining area -- but there weren't any heaters and it was too chilly.
We have come here many times when we are in the theatre district. We both had the prix fixe. The mussels Diablo are delicious and really could be a meal with some bread. We also had the stuffed mushrooms. We both order the shrimp ala plancha-very good. We had the apple pie and the flan, and shared a medium sized pitcher of peach strawberry sangria. It was a new Vegas meal-friendly service. We will definitely return.
Price was a total surprise. We had 4 tapas, coffee and small sparkling sangria. VERY reasonable. Good food and drink delicious. Service very good. They don’t hover and my girlfriend and I sat and talked and ate for a long time. A bit noisy but we were still able to hear each other. Definitely recommend.
Mediocre food. Brisket tasted reheated. Asparagus and spinach plate was mostly all spinach. Good shrimp and potato pancake
Work outing and had a good time. Service was timely and food was great.
Server was good. Appetizers were good. Drinks were great. Dinner was not that great .
Good food and good service.
Great option for before or after a Broadway show. Generally service has been great although a little less attentive at my last visit (3rd time there.)
Beautiful outdoor dining patio -great value pre-theater — we did prix fix menu and enjoyed the selection
We went to Sangria 46 after the theater...two couples celebrating 2 birthdays. We were seated in the beautiful outdoor space in the back. The indoor restaurant was very full and quite loud but our area was much quieter. The wait staff was attentive...although there was a wait for the delicious peach strawberry sangria. We had a variety of orders with the beet salad being a standout. It had almonds and delicious goat cheese croutons. We also enjoyed skirt steak, lamb chops as well as seafood paella. I must say I preferred the paella Valenciana that I had previously as I am not a mussel fan and the seafood version had many...along with tasty calendar clams and shrimp. It was huge. They brought out Apple pie on decorated birthday plates with candles for a fun finish. I would certainly recommend this restaurant...our third time there on theater visits. Thank you Sangria 46!!
Great spot for South American/Spanish food. The paella was out of this world and the Mariscada might be the best value in NY. The sangria, naturally, was excellent. Great atmosphere (the outdoor patio was a nice surprise) and service.
Went to Sangria 46 on a weekday night. Great location in the theater district. We did not order entrees. Classic sangria and tapas was perfect. The chorizo, tortilla, eggplant. Garlic shrimp and asparagus were delicious!
Shrimp sauteed in garlic was average. Came in a red sauce
Spicy sausage tapas Excellent!
Good dinner with hefty portion. Not gourmet, but really tasty and flavorful, and these are not gourmet prices so it’s a really good value. Servers were very friendly and seemed to have fun working here - they kept dancing to the excellent background music. Sangria was excellent and a good amount for the price. We go to dinner and a show in nyc every few months and really glad we found this place. Highly recommend.
Authentic Spanish cuisine: tapas, entrees, desserts, great sangria. I got the prefixe menu: mussels tapa, poached salmon entree, flan dessert, and a margarita that was strong! Our server was very helpful and fun. The ambiance was casual and inviting. Great restaurant!
