Very good food at a solid price. Only drawbacks were that food was served out of order and it was a bit loud with live music in a crowded space.
One of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Best Sangria in town and great tapas. Peach and Strawberry cava is great!
Very easy, delicious, comfortable
It was my first time at the restaurant and was awesome. The service was great, the food was great and also was a great value.
Great selection of tapas. Loved the sangria. Very affordable for a great pre-show meal. Food was well prepared and service was prompt and appropriate.
Amazing restaurant. My husband and I ate there before going to the theatre. It was our first night out, just the two of us, in years. Everything was perfect. Food, drinks, staff, service, and ambiance are outstanding. We will be back and next time will bring friends!
The food was amazing, staff friendly and attentive. Only thing is the decor could be updated/freshened up but would come back for sure!
We were in NYC for a few days, and was looking for a some nearby restaurant from our hotel, and this one came to our attention as one of the higher rated restaurant. We love Spanish food, so decided to try. We ordered a few our favorite Spanish dishes (such as Ahijo), but that was quite different from what we expected, and did not taste as we hoped.... The Calamari we ordered seemed to have been fried with sesame oil, but isn't it supposed to be fried by olive oil ?? Anyway, the restaurant was quite busy, so maybe it was just us who felt disappointment. Please try and let us know what you thought about this place.
The food was very good. The waiter was excellent, he was attentive, personable and made sure we were finished in time for our show!
The service was wonderful. Unfortunately the paella was not good. The lobster added to two of the entrees was so dry and over cooked it ruined the dish. The other seafood in the paella was also tasteless. They did give us a Birthday flan and sung happy birthday to us, which was very appreciated. They also gave us a complimentary pitcher of sangria for messing up two of the three entrees, which also was appreciated.
Very good food and courteous personnel
If you are looking for excellent food at a good price this place is for you . We ate here before a play , it’s close to Broadway . It is noisy and the seating is cramped , but be did not mind as the dinner was great and all for two people under $100.
They were very accommodating considering we were running late for our reservation due to traffic and parking. They were also very attentive and got us out in time for our 8 PM Broadway show.
it was fun and the service was great. Food was ok..but maybe we ordered wrong!
We were able to get a reservation on a Saturday night without a whole lot of lead time, and were seated immediately upon arriving. It was a cold night but inside it was comfortable. Our server was fast, and the complimentary bread, chips and salsa was tasty.
We had a variety of tapas - all of which came out quickly and were hot and well-prepared. Also, the serving sizes for the tapas selections were very large - especially the potato-onion omelet. It was huge!
Very good value for the money. Neat atmosphere and a fun dinner with attentive service.
Pollo in a pot per abuela super! So nice, we had it twice!
Fun place with great food (and sangria)! Never understand why it's not more crowded!
Sangria 46 is one of our most favorite restaurants in the Broadway theater district.
We had a tapas dinner as usual. Four of the five dishes were really great: On the chef specialties you really need to try the BBQ pork ribs (SO uniquely tasty and a large portion) and the flamed mixed cheese (fundido). The shrimp in garlic sauce and dates wrapped in bacon are also super tasty. We also tried the yucca croquettes which were OK but not great. Get the baked eggplant for a vegetable tapas alternative.
They have a wide variety of seafood, meat, and vegetable tapas, and a great selection of entrees although we really enjoy choosing from the tapas to build our dinner.
The helado enamorado is a great ice cream-based dessert. We've had the tres leches in the past and it is also very good.
Start with their chips and salsa, which does cost $5.
The classic red sangria is very good - a large pitcher gives 6 wine glasses. If you like dark beer try the 1906 Reserva Spanish beer.
It is easy to eat quickly or leisurely, and there is no pressure.
Very nice. Perfect for before or after a Broadway show. Staff very friendly and we were not rushed.
great service, terrific menu. the servers were so friendly and helpful. one of our favorite spots!
Went for a bite before a show...had a 6:30 reservation but got there a little early. We were welcomed at the door and told they were getting our table ready, so we ordered a pitcher of red sangria at the bar (The vibe was very friendly, and when 2 seats opened up at the bar we decided to eat there! )The Chorizo Salteado and pulpo a la parrilla were excellent and we loved the chicken with dates! The sangria was very good and the bartender was awesome! Prices were reasonable...will definitely be returning!
Fairly high noise level but, that was expected. Price fixed menu was not very exciting. Two of the four of us ordered piaelle (pardon the spelling). Both dishes were over cooked. Rice stuck to the pan it was cooked and served in. Seafood was dried out from the overcooking. Other dishes were fine but our schedule did not allow us to return the overcooked dishes for replacement.
The food was deeeelish. Very well seasoned. I had Gamba Shrimps...the veggies also well seasoned. Waiter Brian was on point with everthing. The
pre-fixe lunch made sense to me.
The empanadas wee warmed up and soggy. Clearly premade and microwaved. The croquettes were cold-ish and lacked taste. The shrimp delicious but cold. The potato omelet was delicious as was the sangria. Figured we would try the churros: old and stale and probably frozen and microwaved. Very disappointed as my sister recommended the place. Below avg tapas. Quality stunk.
Excellent food , drinks and service ! Group of 5 and we had a lot of fun . Never felt rushed!
Good for pre-theater tapas and sangria. Not crowded, so you'll get to your theater on time.
Great tapas & great wait staff
Excellent value and friendly service. Great Sangria!!
I've been here a few times before theater and always enjoy the ambiance and food. It has really good vegetarian options.
Excellent food, diverse menu listing many tapas and entree options, and warm, personable and efficient servers. A perfect pre-/post-theatre option. May be overlooked because it's on Restaurant Row, and awning is a bit tacky-looking. But once inside, you are in very good hands, and are in for an authentic Spanish treat. Don't miss it!
Always a must for my sister and my cousin. Love this place, been there a dozen times at least.
Great food, value and staff
You must try it if your in nyc
went after a show, reasonably priced bar, good food, server was great
The food was great but the bartender made it unforgettable- great personality and very attentive-which is why we came back !
Food was good, definitely recommend the mango sangria
Sangria 46 was amazing. When seating us they were quick to accommodate us with more comfortable seating. The homeade chips and salsa was excellent. My wife loved the sangria and the food was absolutely delicious! We wanted a place where would enjoy a meal for just the two of us and be able to talk. What we found was a place we didn’t want to leave. We were hoping they were going to clear out the tables and open a dance floor. 5 stars!
My wife ordered a chicken dish from the menu (Pollo Andaluz). About a half-hour later the wait staff asked her to pick something else because the kitchen was "backed up'' with too many orders. We paid for the pitcher of Sangria and left.
We went here for dinner on Friday 11/11/19 before a theatre performance. We had a 6pm reservation and arrived about 20 minutes early. The restaurant was not busy at the time and seated us immediately. We ordered the delicious red sangria, a beautifully tender beef and potato tapas dish, and the bountiful seafood paella. The service was warm and wonderful. By the time we left at 7:20pm the place was bustling. Highly recommended.
Booked this restaurant for a team dinner based largely on Open Table reviews. When I arrived, the exterior, particularly awning was not appealing, but since I was last to arrive, I carried on. We went on to eat outstanding tapas and paella while drinking great sangria. The service was outstanding as was the food and sangria. Only complaint would be external appearance and maybe noise level until about 7pm when it got quieter as patrons left for theatre, presumably. Woukd go back again.
Fun place, tasty food, sparking sangria the bomb...great value and location for pretheatre meals
chicken dish and skirt steak were extremely bland; vegetables overcooked. sangria was good.
