We were five women out for lunch before a matinee performance. 4 of us had the prixe fixe lunch for $24 which included soup or salad, a main course entree from a list, 2 choices for dessert (flan or apple pie) and a glass of red or white sangria. i loved my filet of sole as did one friend love her tamarind chicken. One friend ordered the loin of pork and she had to send it back as it was too tough to even cut (overcooked). The other ladies ordered off the menu and was satisfied except for the chicken empanadas as they were too spicy. The flan was good as was the apple pie. service could have been better as this lunch crowd needed to get out in time for a 2pm show. Price wise there was good value but just an okay lunch. Might return but with the choices on restaurant row.....
food was good and the service was good too!
What a find! Near the theaters and has excellent food. We ate the paella Valenciana. Fantastic. Empanadas were also good. The sexy m sangria went down so smoothly and was delicious. Highly recommend that sangria. Mauricio was our waiter and not only did we have excellent service but were all laughing throughout our meal due to his sense of humor. Will definitely go there again and recommend to my friends.
All good. Great staff. Great food. Will come back.
Birthday celebrated with traditional Spanish flan and a serenade by waitstaff put a smile on my 30 yo daughters face! After having lived in Spain for over a year, Sangria46 was a perfect choice! Great Rioja wine, and paella Valenciana was the best! Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Great options and food. Amazing sangria. Will be our go to place for pre theatre
Food was quite bland and the sangria was watered down.
Great Spanish place on Restaurant Row with plenty of food options that all sound good! And their sangria was delicious and well priced pitchers! I had the pork ribs tapas and they were super tasty and tender. My friends had the paella meal and the filet Mignon tapa and both said it tasted great. Also cute outdoor patio in the back! We were lucky to get a table because it gets full on nice days. I recommend reservations. Our waiter was attentive and very nice. Will be back!
We had a great tapas meal at Sangria 46, although they also have a great selection of regular entreés as well. There is a limited prixe-fixe lunch and dinner menu although we preferred the larger full menu. Either way it is easy to have a great meal before or after theater.
The waiter suggested various dishes and they were all really excellent - very flavorful and well presented. We had homemade chips & salsa, shrimp in garlic sauce, mixed sauteed vegetables topped with mozzarella & goat cheese, grilled baby lamb chops, chorizo sausage sautéed with onions, and grilled mixed cheeses. For dessert we had the churros with chocolate sauce (lots of cinnamon!) and the helado enamorado. All great!
Try the 1906 Spanish beer - very rich and goes so well with the food. The red sangria is also very good but I think the beer is a more-interesting choice.
Our server was excellent and aware that we planned to attend a show. It was a relaxed lunch and a pleasure to dine at Sangria 46. We will definitely eat there again!
Great service. Decor was nothing to write home about. The food was mediocre.
Tried the appetizers, octopus okay, sardines did not taste good, but they took it off my bill
Looking for something different pre-theatre and so glad we found a new favorite. Wonderful staff and delicious food. Considering it for a party.
We went on a Saturday night before a play. The food was excellent and the waiter was very attentive and polite. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone in the neighborhood who likes Spanish food. Be sure to order sangria!
I love this place , the food and service was fantastic
Great dining experience
Amazing food. It's not everyday that you visit a restaurant and the food is so authentic that it reminds you of mom's cooking.
The restaurant was missing the ambiance you'd expect on a Saturday evening.
We were a group of 7 for an early dinner at 5 pm on a Saturday. Great seating in the open back patio on a beautiful day! Service was attentive; the server made helpful suggestions without being pushy. Everyone enjoyed the food which was outstanding! We were not rushed. Drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts were well timed. I will definitely return.
The food took a long time to be delivered to our table even though we did not order anything that should have taken more than 30 minutes. We also ordered one extra item which did not arrive until we had almost finished our dinner, and was thus returned. Abundant amount of food for the cost.
Always love it...especially eating outside in private garden area. Made reservation and openable and requested bday candle in dessert... they were one of just a few restaurants who followed through on request without another mention!!! it is not handicapped accessible since there a few steps down into restaurant. Prix fixe prix lunch and dinners are a great value. Tapas are delicious and well priced. Great selection of sangrias, red and white. Service is always friendly. If you are tight for time they will be quick, but will let you sit and have a relaxing meal too.,
Not the best food but very inexpensive - food was very oily and heavy. Pre theatre dinner- very popular with young people probably because of the price
Came her before going to see Aladdin. We tried the Sexy and Mango Sangrias and our table loved the Sexy. I had the Paella Valenciana and it was amazing. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere.
Very hot day and they did not have the air conditioner on. Nothing delicate or subtle about the food.
Have been here many times. Never disappointed with service or food. Great selections for sharing and of course great sangria. Love the cava! Perfect for pre theater.
Another wonderful dinner at Sangria 46. The pulpit is consistently excellent and we just have to order it every time. The mussels were perfectly plump and delicious. Every mussel was clean and delicious. The Padilla is the best in the business, always freshly made and never dry. The presentation is beautiful and the flavors are fantastic.
Food is GREAT! Staff is friendly and helpful, they make you feel like you are part of the family ! Service was excellent and the prices are reasonable! If you want quality and value this is the place to go!
JUST LOVE THE BARTENDER!!!!
Had a hankering for Tapas and found this place on Opentable. Decent decor, staff is friendly (they speak spanish), Red Sangria is very good. Be careful, it's strong! Tapas are decent portions and very tasty. The Argentinian empanadas were a bit soggy but flavorful, Gambas al ajilla were excellent. The eggplant with cheese was disappointing as it was mostly tomatoes, and very little eggplant, though the presentation was good. You have to try the mushrooms stuffed with crab, they were excellent! Overall we enjoyed the experience and would go back.
GOOD FOR A PRE THEATRE DINNER
LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME
HELPFUL FRIENDLY STAFF
Held reservation, food was very good.
Noise level was moderate to high because of open destiny design but we had a corner table and it was fine
The restaurant is supposed to be known for pre-theater diners. We had a 6:15 reservation and needed to be at the theater at 8:00pm. We showed up on time and were seated right away. We waited about 10 minutes for a server. He brought us Sangria, which was excellent, and a few tapas dishes, which we received right around 6:50 pm. The shrimp dish was cold, but the croquettes were very good. We ordered a second round of tapas and one of the items came out 20 minutes later. We never got the second item and never saw our waiter. It looked like he had too many tables to wait on. At 7:30pm we asked the hostess to get the waiter to bring our check. Instead, he came by with two plates and said our mussels would be coming out in 5 minutes. We told him we had to leave and not to bother. We were disappointed because the other food was okay, but really looking forward to a bowl of fresh seafood. The waiter apologized profusely and was very nice. It seems as if the management doesn't really handle theater goers too well, so unless you are not in a hurry, it's not the place to go for a pre-theater dinner.
The red sangria was great and just how I like it - not sweet! The waitress told us a medium pitcher was enough for 4 glasses, but we actually got 7 out of it - so she was way off. I was so excited about the filet of sole I ordered that was in a pink cream sauce with shrimp, calamari, and scallops, but it 100% was NOT sole that was on my plate and definitely tilapia. It was very obvious. It tasted dry and had rough curled up edges. The shrimp were also over cooked. The tapas we ordered were good though. I would come back for tapas and sangria only.
This is one of my favorite spots and has been for about 8 years!!!
We ordered 4 different vegetarian small plates and was just disappointed in the lack of taste of the food. The eggplant dish was hard( I like my oven baked eggplant to be soft) , too much cheese on the spinach dish. Dissappointed that the Tuna in the stuffed pastery was from a can.
Food was very good. Service a little slow as the restaurant was very busy, but not enough to complain. VERY HOT in the restaurant the evening we went; outside temp around 60/65. Arroz con Pollo had good flavor, although the chicken was a little bit dry. Good sized portion. The chips and salsa for $5 is a must as the chips are made in house and very good. Salsa was not too spicy. Red Sangria was very good. Good location - easy walk from most theaters and Times Square. Would go again.
Sangria 46 was AMAZING! The food is spectacular, the sangria is the BEST, and the service is top notch!
Nice little gem in the heart of the theater district. Great for before or after a Broadway play. Great food to share with a date or a bunch of friends. Fun atmosphere.
The food was great. I was surprised that my tea was 2.50 and 2.50 for each of my refills. It was very loud and the tables are squeezed into the room like sardines.
Great spanish food, waiter was great and took great care of us.
Favorite Go To place in the Theater District, Great Spanish Food, Great Service, Excellent recreation of a Spanish Bistro. Don't do Sangria, its' for Turistas, but Good Wines available at reasonable cost.
Our pre-show meal was super! We loved all the different small plates, and the timing on the service couldn’t have been better. The sangria was delicious, and the staff was awesome!
