Sangiovese at Ironworks
The food was delicious and our server was extremely friendly and knowledgable.
The table for two was very small and the server should have been more knowledgeable.
My hubby and I chose this for our date night. The food was delicious!!! We started with the fried calamari which was very tasty. I then had the snapper special which was to die for. There was a large party next to our table that was pretty boisterous but other than that, everything was great. My husband love his spicy meatballs with spaghetti!!
Went for his birthday will be back! Reasonable prices for excellent food, great service.
Upscale enough for an expensive splurge dinner, yet casual enough for just a nice Italian meal. The waiter selected the perfect bottle of wine for our 10th anniversary celebration. We will be back next time we're in Indy.
Outstanding as always! Best Italian in town!
My husband took me here for our first date night in forever after having our little one—it was also my birthday. The ambiance was nice, the service was great, and the food was fantastic!! I had the filet con fungi (um, divine!) and my husband got the chicken parm (also divine!). The waiter, knowing we were celebrating my birthday, brought out a piece of their famous tiramisu on the house. Wow. So stinkin’ good!! Overall an incredible experience. Will most definitely be going back!!
Met my best friends from high school for dinner there. Been to Sangiovese many times. Have never been disappointed. Great value for the high quality and the consistency of the quality stand out. Great Italian restaurant!
Great food and atmosphere! Extremely laid back, we were not rushed at all! Cannoli was fantastic! Good wine selection!
Great meal and service. A bit dark, would have preferred a bitless dark.
Excellent service by our server Austin. Our appetizer and all meals were served quickly. The Penne M was amazing. We will be back!
Wife and I went for our anniversary. The wait staff were attentive and respectful. The wait time was not long at all and the food is very good! The servings are not small and the prices were extremely good considering it's a higher end restaurant. There were people in dress clothes down to nice jeans and casual shirts. Definitely will go back again!
Be prepared for a dark rather noisy room. Food was excellent as was the service
Celebrating a birthday with girlfriends. They seated us at a round table in an alcove type area which was great for talking to one another. Great service and food!
We were there on a weekday night when they were not so busy that folks were crowding the bar area so the fact that we were sitting in the bar was not an issue. It definitely would have been a terrible spot if the bar was full. Ended up being cozy. Food was delicious and they made me my favorite drink even though it was not on the bar menu anymore. Service was great. I love this place. Only issue i ever have is it can get loud and tables are close together so hit or miss on the cozy thing.
Our server, Scott, was the consummate waiter! From our moment we entered to the final experience of our departure. He was most attentive. The meal was above my expectations. Sangiovese has always been a favorite and continues to be.
From beginning to end a great experience. Drinks were made very well and food was prepared and presented exceptionally. The staff, especially our waiter were attentive and knew the menu well. First visit, won’t be the last.
Food was good, atmosphere a bit pretensmtious..never got a refill on coffee and had to ask for more bread and water.
Wonderful last minute business dinner!
Food was very tasty, I cant say enough about it, staff friendly and knowledgable. We love the atmosphere and will continue to return.
Zach was our waiter. Fantastic service! Food was very good. My entree was excellent! The appetizer and wedge salad were good, but not excellent. However, I am sensitive to salt and I did ask for bacon on my wedge salad. It was a little too salty for my liking but blame that more on my taster than anything. Will definitely go back!
Delicious and Romantic! Service was great and food was amazing!
Had a lovely valentine dinner at Sangiovese.
Available items on the menu was as expected for an Italian restaurant of this quality but instead went with the risotto special. Staff was attentive and friendly and the food was excellent and came quickly. The very minor issue was a lack of a children's menu but they did have an options available for children once we asked. Was the first but not the last time eating in the restaurant.
It was very good and my boss and her boss loved the food.
The spicy meatballs are incredible. Had those as an appetizer. Outstanding
Had the mushroom raviolis and the pasta was tough the sausage too spicy and the sauce appeared to have flour in it. My husband got the linguini and clams and thought there was too much pepper in it
Food was great! We also loved the spicy margarita!
Food was good but not outstanding. Prices were fair. Pretty loud atmosphere and kind of tight. Service was average. Overall I gave it 4 stars so it is a good restaurant. Just not good enough to make it a regular place.
We had a great experience overall. Service and Food were top notch.
The food was flavorful and fresh. I always have good meals there. Unfortunately, our waiter was passive aggressive and condescending.
There were seven of us for dinner and we all enjoyed our entrée!
Great food! Will definitely make this our go-to place whenever we are craving Italian. The service was tremendous. Some of the best service and food I've enjoyed in a long time!
Server was great and our food was outstanding.
Food was amazing and we had the round table in the corner which help a bit with the noise.( It wasn't too crowded, but voices seem to carry a bit.) Our waiter was amazing, very informative and very patient with 5 ladies! It was a birthday celebration and the birthday girl was presented with a yummy dessert, complete with a candle! Made her day very special!!!
So on previous visits, the food has been excellent. Tonite I wasn't very pleased with the dish I ordered. I ordered the Veal Milanese from the Devour menu. The food on the plate was floating in olive oil. The mashed potatoes tasted as if they'd been made hours before and were very gluey. The green beans were soaked in olive oil to the point that they were tasteless. Having said that, the rest of our party was very pleased with their meals (risotto, fish special and chicken parm) and the tomato bisque with the lump crab was excellent.
We had a 60th birthday dinner for my sister on Saturday evening. The staff was friendly, the food was excellent, and Jake, our server, was terrific. Our sister was very pleased! Overall, it was a super experience and I can’t wait to go back!!
Fish was cold, barely any wine was given in huge glass, the only thing good was the waiter was polite. For $100 i felt ripped off. Biggest issue was poor cooking.
Excellent food, prompt service, they were very busy with Devour Indy so it was much louder and more rushed that usual. Everything was delicious.
