Sangiovese at Ironworks
The Linguini Di Mare and Mussels appetizers were excellent. Crusty bread was good. But the olive oil tasted cheap. Service was impeccable. Overall, we enjoyed the experience.
I always enjoin returning to Sangiovese. It is always an enjoyable experience.
Went for a birthday. Great celebration. Started off with Bruschetta and Fried Calamari as appetizers. Nice way to start the dinner. Everybody loved their entrees and the Shrimp Diavlo was good and spicy. Ended with the tiramisu which probably was the best I've ever had. And our server was impeccable and definitely enhanced the evening. Thanks for a great night - we will definitely be back!
Depends on their situation; upon arrival I felt as if the atmosphere was geared towards couples and romance. However, I was thrown off by the big screen TV over the bar area. I definitely felt confused by the ambience. The only reason I was there was because I received a 20.00 gift card from Birthday Pak and so my sorority sister and I went to check it out. I definitely felt out of place because we aren't a couple lol.
Zach is an an excellent server! Very sensitive to conversations and timing to interrupt.
Open table reviews lead me to this restaurant. I am glad I committed and was not disappointed. Solid overall.
Yes, Sangiavese was fabulous. The seafood special and chicken parmesan dishes couldn't have been better.
Our waiter Nick was extraordinary, sharing menu suggestions, helping us find the perfect wine. And the restaurant offered a complimentary piece of tiramisu to help us celebrate Clint's birt.
I have already shared our experience with others.....will definitely return.
When you make a reservation a day in advance, you shouldn’t be seated at the worst table in the restaurant.
Nothing special about the meal or salad.
We were in the little back room on the south side of the restaurant - it was way too loud.
Also, I had the capellini pomodoro, which I've had many times. It was too salty Saturday night.
My husband had a veal dish, which he reported was fabulous.
The food was good although the sauces had more salt and oil than our taste. Portions were adequate but not generous given the prices and how little pasta must cost them to prepare. Service was very friendly but a bit infrequent.
A family favorite place for Sunday dinner.
Excellent Food, Service, Atmosphere!!! Without a doubt, our "New" Favorite!!!
Good food, but entrée portion was rather small
The food is always amazing- it was a busy Saturday night so it was a little loud but nothing that would stop us from coming back.
Great service, amazing food, and a great wine selection.
Wonderful meal and service! Will return again soon.
good but pricey for what it was. nothing bad, just nothing that set it apart from other good Italian prices
Exceptional experience. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Not great food, good. Very skimpy cocktail pour and the antipasto appetizer was pretty poor
Sangiovese has a nice vibe, great ambience and excellent cuisine. It is one my "go to" places in town. Chris and his team always provide a quality dining experience.
Great place and great service had a great time..........................................................
Anniversary dinner and they gave us a complimentary dessert which was so nice of them! Wonderful staff and great food!
There was an uncomfortable wait to be seated with nowhere to stand to wait because the entrace / wait area is so small and cramped. Service was underwhelming. Appetizer meat and cheese plate was awful the meat was old and brown in spots. Just not a great experience overall.
Always excellent!! Great food and wonderful specials..............service is very good.
I liked the old location better. More intimate and there was a piano. Nonetheless, this is a hidden gem. Very good food reasonably priced.
Sangiovese has become one of our favorite restaurants. Our meal was everything a restaurant dinner should be, delightful cocktail, cold salad, delicious entree served piping hot, nice accompanying vegetables and wonderful dessert. The sound level was low, our waitress was attentive, food was promptly served and we were given nice sized portions, you could not ask for more.
My favorite places to eat. Love the place the owner is wonderful
Devour Indy menu was very good.
Ordered Bruschetta and was not impressed. There are many other appetizers choices so skip that one. Friendly service.
We had excellent and friendly service from the time we walked in and spoke to the hostess, to the bar, to our server, to the manager. Every interaction was friendly and focused on making sure we enjoyed our dinner. The food is excellent! We will be going back!
Food was amazing!
The food was great and our server Zack was excellent.
One of our favorite dining establishments! Food is always excellent. Service is great. Thank you!
Great place with good food and good service. I would highly recommend.
We were there for Devour Indy and the special menu was excellent. With a glass of house wine included it was a great value. The fish of the day was excellent.
Went for Devour. We do at least one restaurant during Devour “week”. Sangiovese has the best value Devour menu I’ve seen (at least for the Aug 2019 installment). It included drinks, soup or salad, entree, and desert. The desert and soup/salad were normal 2 option sets. But I’ve never seen the amount of variety and number of options on a Devour menu before!
I think we had 4 or 5 drinks to choose from (to include their impressive “Mule” bar - I got the Kentucky Mule). There were at least 6 entrees to choose from. And the soup and deserts were great!
Can’t wait to go back to try the regular menu!
It was a wonderful experience. Pleasant service, good sized portions, and the tiramisu was divine! Nice atmosphere for a date night. We chose the devour menu but the standard menu seemed well priced.
The food was certainly better than average. The bread was good. I had the fish that was well prepared but the dish lacked contrast. Again the tiramisu was above average, but lacked the traditional coffee flavor.
We were greeted and welcomed when we arrived. Our server, Scott, did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome and made the experience enjoyable. The food was very good.
