   Wonderful experience! We sat at the bar, which is by reservation only. My only critique is that it is a bit too lit up in there! Just personal preference but otherwise awesome!

   Lovely staff and servers. Food was just OK, with a unexciting Caesar Salad and mediocre spaghetti with clams. But the complimentary cookies and house made grappa were a nice touch.

   This was our second visit to Sandro’s and our first at the new location. The food and service are excellent and the prices are reasonable. We’ll be back and I highly recommend Sandro’s.

    There was a very loud guy screaming and cursing at the incredibly small TV. 1. The tv was small, because it’s an Italian restaurant, not a sports bar. 2. He was screaming at a football game between a 3-7 team and a 4-6 team like it was the super bowl. I think that is my biggest issue. Also, his group spilled a huge glass of wine all over the bartender and acted like nothing happened. It was as if he thought he owned the place and it was evident that he did have some connection to the manager. However it disrupted everyone’s experience in the otherwise exceptional restaurant.

    An upscaled version of the previous venue on 82ond street. Missed seeing Sandros the Chef but was graciously greeted by his son. My friend and I dined at the bar and watched Rangers blow out the Red Wings eating pasta lemone and crispy cornish hen with adequate amounts of rich and delicious Brunello. OUTSTANDING EVENING!!!

    Just nothing like this place. Quaint and charming, family-run Italian that is always great. Given a choice of any restaurant in NYC for dinner, this is always my favorite.

    We were there for a celebratory dinner. Staff were very welcoming and attentive- also had an appropriate sense of humor. The food was the best, drinks and wine excellent, and desert- great! We will be back for another special occasion.

    We are longtime customers but had not been there since Covid and not to the new location and were excited to cone back. Loved the new digs, tho noisy, abd were we very nicely treated, 5 stars, but none of the three oastas we gad stood out. Two— my wife’s vongole was dry abd flavorless, abd my cacio was simply dry. Another truffle noodles was okay but could have benefited from oarmigano, which the guest did not ask for. Our Caesar was dry as well. While the place was rocking, maybe it overwhelmed the kitchen. Anyway, our comments and we will try again. Loved our waiter.

    This was the second year in a row we celebrated my birthday here. And I think the food was actually even better this year than last. However, the interaction with the management and Sandro was definitely missing this year, which was a lot of what made last time so memorable. The service from the regular servers was really nice and friendly. But we definitely missed the personal interaction that we experienced last year. Perhaps most disappointingly, they totally forgot to do anything about the birthday part, even though it was noted in the reservation and mentioned again when we arrived. It kind of left a flat note at the end not to even have anything to celebrate the birthday or make it festive.

    Recently moved to East 86th Street, Sandro's is better than ever! The food has always been great, but now, with a bar designed to be eaten at, the place is just rolling in good vibes. Highly, highly recommended!

    Sandro's is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants on the UES. The service is amazing and the food is incredible. We were a table of 6 and got sat in the back room, which was lovely as we were celebrating a birthday. I had a mini penne with a vodka style sauce and the pasta was unique and perfect. Highly recommend!! So happy that I live in the neighborhood and can make Sandros my new local spot.

    Just as our dinner was brought out, they seated a large group at a small table directly next to us. The message seemed to be “you’re in the way, this group needs your table.” But we had a reservation and had only been seated for 40 minutes. Kind of left a bad taste. The appetizers were better than the main dishes. Not sure I’d come back.
