Definitely comfort food
Unfortunately, the food was less than thrilling to the palate. The poutine was not traditional, but a philly version with too much cheese sauce and the meat barely to be found for bite the bacon and brisket versions. Cost too high for cheese fries. My fried rice was nothing to rave about as Chinatown is just a few blocks away! Only my so so dish, which had to be modified, as their waffle iron was not working, was decent.
Will not return for an over priced fast food meal!
Delicious meal! Loved the music being played by jazz trio in the corner! Our server was excellent!
We were a large party of ten and they were VERY accomodating. Our waiter was superb and had no issues with all of our substitutions and special orders. The food was served quickly and everyone was pleased. Overall it was a really good experience.
My husband & I had our family there for brunch after the Walnut St Children’sTheater. Perfect location, the food was delicious, service was great & had a children’s menu. We’ll be back
We were very disappointed by both the food and service. Our waitress constantly forgot what we ordered. She didn't bring drinks when we reminded her, brought the wrong appetizer and had confusion about a dish being ready to order (first the meat wasn't ready, then it was, then it wasn't - we were fine ordering something else but they kept coming back to update us on the meat). The poutine appetizer was great but nothing else was worth finishing.
Mike the server was world-class.
Horrible experience, waited over 45 minutes just to get a glass of water. Never received our food or drinks, ended up walking out.
Our server did his best but both the kitchen and bar were extremely slow. Even a glass of wine took 25 minutes. Our food (just burgers) took 50 minutes. Two other tables got up and walked out before their food arrived. Manager apologized but didn’t comp us for anything — not even the glass of wine she had to go to the bar and get herself after I told her I’d been waiting for 25 minutes. Annoying.
Excellent meal at a fair price. Service was awesome and so was the food! We had a problem with our burger and the staff was amazing at rectifying the problem in a professional and friendly manner.

This restaurant had advertised a singer who performs Frank Sinatra songs as a Friday evening event. Four of us, fans of Sinatra thought it would make a nice evening. Unfortunately, the noise level in the restaurant, the placing of the 'singer', the general hub-bub made it an awful evening. We won't be going back there soon. I can't comment on how the restaurant would be during a regular dining evening however.
Sigi, thank you for your comments. The purpose of having this trio come into the restaurant to perform some of Frank's classics is to create a 'fun' and entertaining environment while guests are dining and enjoying each others company. It was not intended to be a quite concert in any way. I am sorry that you did not enjoy yourself but keep in mind that we do offer different locations within the restaurant that are a quieter environment while still allowing you to enjoy out complimentary perks

We were initially asked to sit inside but the noise was crazy loud. They moved us into their lobby seating and it was great! Thanks for accommodating us! Food and service great too!
Uninteresting, unhealthy menu and unorganized staff
The Eagles game was on and several patrons at the bar were overly enthusiastic but otherwise it was very good, especially the waiter, Rapheal...some of the food was not very hot but was immediately taken back and heated. Perfect for after the Walnut Street Theater on a Sunday afternoon (if only the Eagles had won!)
Awful food and poor service.
Tried it as a before theater dinner spot before a performance at the Walnut Street Theater. Great menu choices, friendly staff. All in all a great find. We four will be back again.
Waited 30 minutes for drinks and water. Food came out before drinks came. Don’t think we will be back.
I dined amongst a party of 5 on Sunday, November 10th at 12pm. This entire situation was a mess from the start. I’m not in the mood for a soliloquy (but it’s probably going to happen anyway), so here’s the recap:
Our drinks took 20 mins to come out. It really wasn’t that busy for Sunday either.
The food took an hour to come out. 2/5 meals were cold. The Eggs Benedict sucked and just had some butter on top of the poached eggs.
My little girlfriend’s sandwich was on some stale a** kaiser roll with one depressed fried egg (should have been two) and some dried up dehydrated bacon. She isn’t a picky eater and couldn’t even bite into the sandwich.
My omelette was warm but the vegetables weren’t cut up and I had whole mushrooms sitting in there. My experience was punctuated by the fact that a random waitress came over and told me they “lost my toast and couldn’t find it anywhere.” At this point, we all had enough...
After waiting for the waitress for 10 mins to complain, we asked for the manager twice and he never came over.
We couldn’t get the check because the waitress was so embarrassed that she wouldn’t come back to the table.
I dropped her a $20 bill out of pity (half the table yelled at me for even doing that) and we all left the restaurant after 1.5 hours without paying after trying to mitigate the situation by talking to the manager who never came over.
This experience sucked and the entire restaurant was sitting there in angst. The older folks in there were livid.
Do NOT go here until they get their act together. There’s plenty of other great spots in the city you can go and get great food/service.
We went here before the Walnut Street Theater. Our usual dinner place was booked. We initially were going to be seated right next to the live music but they moved our table to out in the lobby where it was quieter. The food and service were very good and we were able to park in their underground garage for a discount then leave the car to walk to the theater. We will definitely return before another show.

Even though we did not get a 5* rating, you spoke to some of the amenities that we have to offer like the proximity to The Walnut Street Theatre, reduced rate Underground Parking in The Franklin with Validation, live music on every Tuesday and every other Friday and if needed, a quieter area to dine if you like. When we checked in, we were rudely asked to prove that we had an Open Table reservation. We were eventually seated then waited 10-15 minutes for menus. We eventually ordered and service was excessively slow. When the food came out, it was all cold. Quite a disappointing experience.

We just love this place! The food is always good, and the service exceptional. My wife’s go to brunch entree is the poutine - topped brisket and sunny side up eggs. The Bloody Marys are delicious and reasonably priced.
We will be back!
This is a good restaurant if you don't care for a quiet environment and if you like watching massive TV screens set all over the restaurant. I find that very distracting, thereby limiting my potential enjoyment of my meal. I had never been to Sandler's; it was recommended to me because it is close to the Walnut Theatre where I was about to see a show. So, for a quick bite when you're off to a meeting or a show, it's OK, but for dining with a friend to catch up on each other's life, not so good.

Always a good meal.
Meh... Too many restaurant options in this town to get excited about a place with a menu filled with offerings found elsewhere.
We went on a Saturday night when it sounded like Sandler's staff were having a stressful day. I heard from one of the hostesses something about a large wedding party, hotel guests, and small kitchen contributing to the chaos that day. So I went in knowing service might not be up to par, which it has been in the past when I've gone for peak weekend brunch hours. Either way, our server was kind and apologetic. The burgers my date and I ordered were delicious, and the fries were fresh and crispy. As the reviews promised, the cocktails were very delicious, but took awhile to arrive to the table. I would come back again, but perhaps on a weekday night when there is less chaos from weekend traffic.
Food was good. Service was pretty good. Small issue we had with our bill was taken care of by the manager..
Had a party of 16 and Sandler's accomodated us in a private room. The service was awesome, with a friendly waitress who served all of us promptly and checked on us as needed. The food was pretty food, all 16 of us enjoyed what we ordered with no major complaints. Great location for a group.
We are in the city for a conference and decided to have dinner here. Our initial service provider left much to be expected. However after having a quick chat with the manager we switched to Rafael who was AMAZING! The manager was super understanding and really worked hard to make our visit here wonderful. Even better the food was sooooooo good and the band was an added bonus. Can’t wait to return !
Relaxing atmosphere. Aside from me it was a first time there for everyone. The French dip was juicy and delicious. The turkey burger was perfectly cooked and the sauce and onions added a delicious flavor. The hog, a Korean BBQ pork sandwich with bacon, onions and cheese was a big sandwich, flavored and cooked perfectly. One in our party went with breakfast food. He got pancakes, very fluffy and large, with fresh strawberries on top.
The only issue we had was the reservation made through Open Table was not found in their reservation list. Luckily, there were tables available for our party.
Prices are great, comfortable atmosphere, variety of choices on the menus. We all plan to return.

Sandler's On 9th was a last minute find for our group from New Hampshire experiencing ISTE19. The location was an easy walk from the PCC in a good part of town, they seated us in a room with glass walls so we could hear each other, but never felt boxed in. Our waitress was attentive and did a great job with our group of eight. Am thinking it might have been a special circumstance, but the kitchen was closing at 8:45 so we had to scramble just a bit to get our orders in, but worked out fine. Definitely recommend!
Had dinner there on Wednesday night. Terrific Food and a warm and inviting atmosphere with most seats filled at the bar to make it festive. Tuna Poke Tacos were fantastic with spicy mayo mango chili salsa. The Garlic Shrimp Pappardelle was served with large shrimp and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I sampled my date's Braised Short Rib Flanken and that dish was prepared just the way I like it, tender with lots of seasoning and flavor but not drowning in sauce. Excellent beer and wine selection.
We had terrific food and great service at a convenient spot going to theater afterwards. A very pleasant first visit there. Will be back
This was our second visit to Sandler's on 9th, and it was very enjoyable. The portions were generous, the food was tasty, and the service was attentive. This will now become part of our pre-theater restaurant rotation.
We sat at the bar even though we made a reservation for a table. Mike, the bartender, made the whole experience. He gladly created cocktails that weren't on the menu to suit our taste and made food recommendations that were spot on. There are some interesting items on the menu, the brisket poutine and the french onion soup are a must. Have been there twice and would definitely go back.
Went late on a Sunday 145.Restaurant nearly empty but extremely loud.1 hr from seating to get food 1 meal came 30 mins after and food was fair to not good 1 meal sent back signature item avacodo toast served on untoasted white bread .I returned it and it was returned on 1 sided toasted white bread ??meal not eaten undercooked potatoes also .Waitress was nonverbal and elusive and we were quiet complainers .The hostess staff and maybe manger eating there meal while this was occuring no apology.
