Sandler's On 9th
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good selection for breakfast.
Sandler's are reps of Walnut Street Theater. We are members of Walnut. So we get 10% of our bill. They serve breakfast all day. So I got the eggs Benedict with potatoes. Another got French toast with salted caramel and nuts. The others had sandwiches. No one had anything left on their plates. Next time will try a dessert and entree.
We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-theater dinner at Sandler's. We ordered veggie burgers and turkey burgers, plus nutella/banana pancakes for a child. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. We appreciated the inquiry by the waiter regarding food allergies. We will definitely return in a few weeks.
Food was good but service was well below average. Server was delayed welcoming us,, requested drink sweetener + refill delayed. Also had to search out server to request the check. Very disappointing as my previous visit was very well tended to. I look forward to a return visit being like my previous visit.
Food was great. Space was really nice- love the glass enclosed private room and the beautiful lobby tables. Our waitress was great and Ali Sandler gave a wonderful tour and history of how she and her dad came to open this cool restaurant. Rec the chicken nachos and kale Cobb.
We’ll be back!!
El 9 de Sandler fue maravilloso. A mi familia le encantó el menú. Muy americano El servicio fue fantástico. Mejor que nada tenemos en la ciudad de México. Espero que abran una sucursal pronto!
Mac and cheese was the best!
Staff was extremely accommodating and sweet despite having to work on a holiday. Food and portions were delicious and generous. Great experience overall.
A great new venue near Jefferson. Very creative and tasty menu. Staff is sensational and the service is excellent!
Went for lunch - I've been wanting to go as it's right down the street from my work. I had a Turkey club (substituted avocado for the bacon). The menu is great, fries were hot, my friend's salad was huge. I love the decor and the bathroom was clean. It's a big open space so I wonder if it gets loud but even during a pretty busy lunch time, it wasn't so bad. Loved my waiter, but could have been acknowledged a little quicker at the door. No biggy. Prices are right - I'll definitely be back.
We are a group of Walnut Theater goers and we will definitely be back for our brunches before the shows!
What an amazing place! Best food and staff in Philly! Bar none!
Mediocre at best, everything seemed like it had been cooked earlier in the day and not even warmed up. Nothing worse than cold french fries. Dry, cold chicken breast and so on. Not worth it.
First time we have eaten at this wonderful, well located restaurant. Beautiful , delicious food. great variety. Owner there to make sure we were satisfied. Food magnificently served, great service. We can't wait to go back!
Just an overall great place for brunch. Amazing food, amazing staff, and they have NFL Red Zone. Highly recommended.
Great game day place to watch NFL.
Wonderful staff ....... food to die for ....especially well suited for game day!!!
An awesome spin on comfort food! Sandler's is an upscale casual restaurant in a very cool space. The food is excellent and the service staff was knowledgeable and attentive. I would highly recommend it
The food was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The place was very nice and clean. Great for people watching with all the windows. The service was just a little slow. I would highly recommend.
We were very favorably impressed with Sandler's on 9th--a menu with many appealing selections, sufficiently close to the Walnut Street Theatre to become a reliable option on theater nights, reasonable prices. The food was solidly good, and the service was very friendly. We'll go back.
We were arriving to Philadelphia & decided to look for a place for brunch.
We read the reviews & looked at InstaGram pictures, knew we had to try.
The service, food & atmosphere were all spot on.
Prices & portions were extremely reasonable.
We can’t wait to return !!
The food was very basic, could have gotten a better sandwich and burger at a sports bar. I think this place lacks its own identity and is trying to figure things out. Also the floor around the table was dirty and the servers couldn’t multi-task, even though we went at off-peak dinner time (5pm).
The food was very good and the service was wonderful!
Simply the best dining establishment in Philly. Great food, wonderful staff and always excellent value!!
Good go to place. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Wide selection of food. Nice place to meet
Our group of four enjoyed a delicious brunch. There was something for everyone from sweet to savory. We started by sharing the house-made Sticky Bun. Tasty but almost too much sweetness. BIG plus - my wife was able to get her Ugly BLTA on gluten-free bread. Other orders included Salted Caramel French Toast. Buttermilk Pancakes, and the Water Dog Norwegian Smoked Salmon Béarnaise.
Our server, Taianne, was attentive and kept the coffee flowing. We enjoyed a relaxing meal and never felt we were being pushed to leave, even as the place started to fill.
Highly recommended for a delicious and relaxing start to a weekend day!
We loved this place and also liked that it took reservations. It was a little pricey for brunch with kids, which is why i gave it 4 stars, but otherwise terrific.
Nice ambiance, but the food was just okay and overpriced. Service was inattentive, the server actually forgot an item we ordered but luckily it was not on the bill so we let it be. Coffee was good.
What can I say? My new favorite “fun” place downtown. Great menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Unique and creative. Wonderful staff. For breakfast or brunch try the blintzes. For lunch try a signature burger. Dinner.... the steaks can’t get any better. We can’t wait to go back!!!
Took my parents here to brunch while they were in the city, and they loved having so many good & reasonably priced menu options. I loved that the menu was classic American with modern flair, just like my usual go-to brunch spot (Green Eggs). There’s plenty of seating at Sandler’s and quick service.
Really love led this restaurant. Staff friendly, food very tasty, great location.
Good dinner. Sort of a dressed up diner with better than diner food. We'll go again.
Service was extremely slow. Asked our waitress for creamer for our coffee, never got it. Tried to get her attention, she never looked up from the front desk. When we tried to call her so she could take our order, she acted like she didn’t see us calling her over so we had to get another waiter to go get her. We were her only table. I would go back for the food but they need to step it up with the service.
The menu is very interesting and different. Our food was good and we got served and done in plenty of time for the theater.
The food was decent; I had Bucatini Pasta (heavy on cheese) and my husband had the Chicken BLTA. Still, service was very slow; I don’t think the place has enough waitstaff and they couldn’t accommodate a large group. We barely made a 7:00 show a block away when we were prompt/early for a 5:45 reservation. This is not a place where one wants to linger and dine. Still, food is decent and it’s convenient.
Ambiance would have been better if we weren’t surrounded by tables long abandoned that had not been cleared. Good was very good as was our server.
we went for an early breakfast and it was great. will be going back for either brunch or lunch
Blackened Ahi Tuna sandwich cooked medium rare was delicious!
Kitchen over cooked the food, and this meant that by the time it was served, we had 12 minutes to eat before theater. The server did not keep us informed at all and only deducted from the check after challenged.
Great new place! Didn't seem to get my open table points, though
Great menu. Salads are huge. Will definitely visit again
