   We had a late dinner here during an incredibly windy desert night. They would not allow us to stand inside but were gracious about accommodating us within an inside table however it took 20 min past our reservation to seat us when there was plenty of tables available inside. The over head lighting at the first three tables to the left of the door are insanely bright compared to the other tables, lighting and the overall ambiance was compromised. The food was fine however our pork belly bao was over cooked and really had no flavor. Their signature speciality rolls were good but not memorable and the sheer size of each cut piece is just insanely large but perhaps that’s what the clientele calls for. Wait stuff was extremely nice and friendly and they are very expedient with the food but we had the complete opposite experience regarding pace with the bill and checking out.

   The restaurant is nice, clean and the food is good. The service needs improvement. It was my birthday and I indicated as much in my reservation. The hostess even asked me about it. But the server did not acknowledge it nor did he do anything to recognize it. So we ate our food - paid a large bill with tip and quietly left. I am not happy about this and will not go back to this restaurant.

   We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar for our dinner....best decision! We talked to the bartender, I believe it was Miguel (? sorry!) and he was wonderful. He explained so much to us. We tried the Japanese Juniper and it was perfect! We had spicy edamame, salmon nigiri, and 2 great rolls....the Sandfish Roll and the Venue Roll. Both were amazing! Cannot wait to return!

   We were very disappointed. We thought we reserved inside table instead we were outside on the “deck” in a metal container with a wobbly table and zero ambiance. Service wasn’t great either - efficient yes but no personal touch. Expect more for an expensive dinner out. Prior visit was inside and really special. No desire to return

   We delive our serve was either drunk or high. He disappeared for over 40 minutes after taking our drink order and finally came back with our water and wine almost 45 minutes later. Took almost another 40 minutes to get two orders of rolls. Other waiter kept going to his girlfriend’s table across from us making out and being completely inappropriate Over all service was terrible and we won’t be returning

    I enjoy the sushi here as it’s my second time dining. I ordered sushi as an appetizer, with a roll and mussels as my entre. 5 minutes before my husband’s sushi sampler came out for dinner our waiter informed us that the mussels were unavailable. I understand these things happen but we had been sitting for an hour already after putting in our dinner order. Giving me another option before dinner coming out would have been better and more professional on the waiter’s part. Everyone feels entitled to 20 percent tip, but these oversights make me want to not automatically give 20 percent to a 350.00 dinner.

    It was a bit overpriced in my opinion. I also didn't like that there was no type of kid friendly menu items. Food was good, don't like that if you sit on deck or patio you have to deal with lots of Flies!

    The entire experience was incredible! This place is a popular destination for Saturday night, so reservations are highly recommended. Everything we had was amazing, the highlights being the wagyu carpaccio and the black mussels. Make to save room for the matcha cheesecake. The Japanese old fashioned and the Japanese juniper are great cocktail pairings for your meal. And for the whiskey lovers, they have an excellent selection of all types, also including 30 Japanese whiskeys to choose from.

    The food overall was good. Service was slow. We were seated outdoors, patio was not even half full. The waiter also served the two others water at the table and wasn't going to fill my water because it was a far reach. I had to call out to the waiter and he had to double back to give me water.

    Great experience! We were sat outside, but asked to be inside due to heat, hostess was very accommodating and got us seats at the bar instead! Great experience sitting at the bar, you could watch them prepare the sushi as well as drinks. Bartender was awesome and gave us some great suggestions on what to order/drink as well on what to do in Palm Springs! 10/10!

    Worst service we’ve ever had. Food was amazing but the service was so horrible it just made us upset we couldn’t enjoy the meal. Took over 2 hours to eat because nobody would ever come and check on us. We used to love this place but something has changed. Go somewhere else y til they figure it out

    We always enjoy seeing Sandfish Sushi when we come here for dinner. Luckily, we got in on Mother’s Day and had a nice table facing the dining room and not next to a large group of noisy people. Food is always delicious. We always order SAKI so we do not know their cocktails. Service was impeccable. Prices are fair for what you were getting. It’s not a quick sushi restaurant.     My fourth time at Sandfish and as always, excellent dinner and service. They were very accommodating of my gluten sensitivity and made ordering very easy for me. All of the dishes were tasty, inventive and presented beautifully.

    One of our three rolls (the wagyu) was excellent, but the other two were quite ‘soggy’. The edamame were undercooked and undersalted, while the shishito were overcooked, too oily and too salty. Service was fine but space was very noisy last night.

    Environment was physically cold. Had to move seats because of a blowing vent. Atmosphere was very loud and hard to hear servers and my dinner companion. Felt abandoned/neglected by server who left us for long periods throughout the meal. Service felt disconnected, food served abruptly with no explanation of the ingredients (got 6 different kinds of sashimi on one plate). Had to ask another server to find our server to order dessert and instead she brought the check. For the prices at this restaurant, I would expect much better service and a smoother, more "curated" dining experience. The sashimi was good but felt like it could have been a little colder (the fish). Appetizer was brought to table with one knife and fork (for 2 people dining). Very disjointed service and loud atmosphere made for a not-so-pleasant dining experience. The whiskey I had was delicious, as was the matcha cheesecake for dessert. Mainly unhappy with the service and the atmosphere. Expected much more based on the restaurant's reputation and the prices. Not sure I'd return but glad I went to try it for myself.

    Incredible! Chef in the top 30 sushi chefs around the world and therefore can import fish from all over the world. The Sandfish Roll is a must try! If we had been in town longer we would have come back the next day to try more on the menu! Crème brûlée is also a must try!

    Fantastic service, our waiter was a delight. He made some amazing suggestions with food and drink. The hamachi kama was perfectly crunchy and melted in your mouth like butter. The Sandfish roll topped with crunchy potato threads was brilliant.

    This was rated a top restaurant in Palm Springs but is absolutely not worth it. The food was good, not great and the patio is a dump. We waited to sit outside and when we walked out there, no one was outside. Inside was busy but nothing was decorated or high end vibes to speak of. Really disappointing for spending $300+ for sushi. Service was meh. They forgot the edamame and brought the wine late so had to take half the bottle home.

    We wanted to have a special date night. It was Terrible experience! No customer service. It was super windy outside, and I asked several times to be moved to empty tables with less wind. Nothing was done. (I did feel the server was stuck in a hard place- he was ok). Food took forever to arrive. We canceled a few dishes and asked for our check.

    Overall was a great place to eat. Would go back again. Couple small things. Better to make reservation on open table than call in. When I tried to call in a 4:45pm I was put on hold ans 15 min I hung up. Other than that it was a great meal and service
