You should remove this from open table. The good thing on the water. Thats it. Sloppy eating area. You sit right outside rooms. But the food wasn’t edible. Ravioli swimming in a watery butter sauce on a plastic plate. Lobster tacos that should be thrown back in the ocean. A burger McDonalds wouldn’t sell Overpriced drinks. We spent over 150 fir two you don’t want to eT here. Many other wonderful places in MTK. Been coming for 25 years this was the worst EVER
My family of 5 arrived for our reservation to what appeared like a frat party. Several drunk 20-somethings seated and coming in and out, being extremely loud. The waitress seemed very overwhelmed. I asked for the espresso martini listed on the menu and was told the bar was not manned so we could only order canned drinks from the outside pool bar. A short time later, the girl who seated us was serving shots to a group of frat guys from the bar I was told was closed. Even my kids who are 14,11 and 7 felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave. But seeing it was July 4 at 7:30 we knew we would not get into another restaurant. In all fairness, my husband loved his soup and pasta. I had an ok burger. Such a shame because it has potential to be a diamond in the rough.
The restaurant was completely clowed
Made a reservation weeks ago only to find out upon getting to the restraint that they were closed and not serving dinner. There was no phone call or email telling me that this was happening. Very very inconvenient when you have a toddler
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed even though open table took the reservation. Very disappointed since this was our anniversary dinner.
Such a wonderful experience, the set up is beautiful, the food is excellent (recommend the linguini and chicken!) and the service was as good as it gets! Check out Sandbar next time you’re in Montauk, you won’t be disappointed!
we went for a nice dinner. we had a reservation and the bouncer at the front tried to turn us away. we walked in and the bar area was packed of drunk people at 8pm. people were doing drugs in the bathroom, there were people standing on tables, people knocking in to tables. the server didn’t know how to make the simple vodka soda i asked for. i went to use the restroom and it was absolutely trashed, empty drinks on the back of the toilets. there were girls in the men’s bathroom. it was an absolute nightmare and i will never go here again
Think this place is just super new and needs time to iron out initial kinks, good potential tho
Breakfast was basically a free hotel breakfast you get to pay for...not very good. Had to eat out of to go containers. Inside is a musty underground old spot. Outside you are next to the pool with kids and families swimming.
Booked at table outside for breakfast on open table. When I arrived they said it was a mistake to allow us to book (No apology) and if we wanted to eat outside we would have to order the food to go and eat outside without any service....yet other people arrived shortly after us and received service outside. Smoothie was delicious. This is their first weekend opened as sandbar and they are still working out the kinks.
Situated nicely along the beach, spectacular views of the shore when sitting at the high tables along the fence line. Fried calamari was was excellent. Great place to also have a nice glass of rosé while taking in the sea breeze and sun.
This just opened a few days before we dined. The server said it was their first time taking an order and I think she meant her first time ever as she was clearly not an experienced server. The pasta was delicious but the sea bass and the asparagus bisque were bland. The wine was delicious and well priced. The lighting was way too bright. Overall it felt like the restaurant was a fun project for the new partners and if they want to keep it going, they have a ways to go to get it up to the standards they seem to want with the prices they are charging and the ambitious items on the menu. They have a great space and if they stick to what the chef is good at, and can work out the kinks and stick around, I’d try them again in six months or so.
Great new spot. Delicious food, top notch service. Great location on the beach, which believe it or not is hard to find in Montauk! Homemade pasta was phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back.
