   If you like great food, great service, great surroundings and great clientele, this is the place for you. I was hosting friends from Europe and they fell in love with the staff and the food. The bill is substantial but you get what you pay for at San Pietro! It is a great restaurant.

   We love San Pietro for dinner. It's quiet, the service is impeccable- Manolo explaining the extensive list of specials forward and backwards is always a highlight. They have delicious wines by the glass and the food is always superb.

   Classic NY Italian dining experience. Business traffic in midtown is still slowly coming back, so it’s easy to get a table on a weeknight - take advantage of this. The “Uomo principale”, Manolo, is a gem; a simply marvelous human being. Place your trust in him and you will enjoy a fantastic meal. We enjoyed an antipasto of fig and prosciutto along with a salmon tartar. The pasta course was among the best I have ever enjoyed - him made penne pasta with oso buceo veal. We wrapped up with amazing main courses of lamb and halibut. All were from the daily specials menu. They even whipped up an amazing spaghetti con bolognese for our son.

    Tired. That's the overall feeling. The décor is from the previous century. Aesthetically worn out. It's short-staffed with one waiter making the rounds, explaining the specials and taking the orders and the rest of the staff doing everything else. The food is good, if not spectacular. The wine list is very good but they don't have a lot of wines that are on the list and they sell customers wines that aren't on the list but they recommend. Those wines, at least in my experience, was ok at best. There are a lot better options. Too bad. It's in a great location and with a little redecoration and updating everything else, it could be an easy go to place.

    Made a reservation for 6-I think we saw every server in the restaurant, but none consistently. Ordered drinks-took a long time to get them. Took a LONG time to get our meals, which were all overpriced and mediocre. Could not get anyone to come back to take reorders on drinks, do a member of our party went to the bar to order 3 drinks. She was asked why she didn’t ask server-replied no one came back. Asked if we wanted dessert-one member of group ordered tiramisu. Not sure what it was made with but was grainy-not edible. Complained & asked for adjustment I bill. Gal we spoke with was afraid to mention the problem to manager…told us to adjust the tip. We were fortunate to have some great experiences while we were in NYC, but this was extremely disappointing. We selected this restaurant based on the reviews but clearly those folks had a completely different experience.

    Sadly this evening was a disappointment at this restaurant for myself and my clients. The service and total confusion of the staff around was like watching faulty towers. 5 different people came at the beginning asking the same questions then the server we guess finally showed up and literally yelled the specials to us as the noise level was so loud. They also pushed wines on us that we didn’t request although we knew what we wanted and had ordered it, which I found to be disappointing as we are wine experts ourselves and then the food - seriously lacking. There are many other great restaurants in NYC if you want to spend this kind of money with better ambiance. Last comment - we finished our bottle and no one came to ask if we wanted another one, nor did they come to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. We tried it but wouldn’t go back or recommend, specially if you have a client with you.

    Way over-priced. I forgot to ask how much the plate of sole special was. Turned out it was $100, a bit steep for a plate that was ordinary. Avoid this like the plague. I am happy to pay $150 a head for good food but not for food that my dinner partner described as disappointing

    I think the restaurant is beautiful and the service and food are fabulous, but for the food and drink quality, it is remarkably overpriced. We spent $400 for 3 entrees and 6 drinks. It seems kind of ridiculous that te bill was so high. I felt embarrassed that I brought my friend there and he paid that amount.

    prices have gone up 50% service and food down 100%. Grossly understaffed $60 risotto dish with prawns with price to be revealed by the check was with frozen, tasteless shrimp. mediocre bread served with little plastic packets of butter. Saving on olive oil I guess. Wintergreen salad with pears dressed with excess salt and no slad dressing and three matchstick size slivers of I guess a pear. Likely cost about $2 in ingredients but charge was $26. Pasta was good... if the risotto was without the shrimp it would have been good as well.
