The service was outstanding, the food was excellent. Always a delightful experience at San Pietro!
San Pietro is one of our regular places to dine, and once again today it was everything we hoped it would be. Exquisite cuisine and attention to details. Thank you Bruno Brothers!
Charging $110 for a $20 chianti classico is a little excessive.
Meal was great unfortunately one of the dinners ordered a bolognese sauce and received broccoli rabe/ sausage pasta which she loved but didn’t order. Other than that it was great as usual.
It was good meal good service slightly overpriced for what we ordered
They don’t have enough staff. Ran out of entrees
Never cheap, always good
Have been to San Pietro many times and always enjoyed its “old school” ambiance & fare. This time my guest & I had a 12:30p reservation, had to flag our waiter down strenuously to order a pre-lunch drink, then do the same half an hour later to order our lunch. Salad came finally at around 1:30p and we didn’t get our main course until 2:15p after asking about it repeatedly. It was very tasty but by then I was too annoyed to enjoy it.
Head waiter then came & apologized profusely, complaining about staff shortages and offered us free desert, which I didn’t want. Got a full bill for lunch(!!) and when I asked why no discount he said “don’t leave a tip.” Not exactly the right answer.
Lots of apologies as we left but not going back!
Not worth the cost. The atmosphere is very busy and noisy. The staff are rushed in everything they do. The food is good, but not exceptional; we found the portions small.
Half the printed menu not available. Waiter screams the specials at you. Tried to overcharge on 3 different items on our bill.
It took them 75 min between appetizers and entrees. Spoke with 4 different servers but none have a single apology. One of them even made it into a joke, hoping to lighten up the situation but did complete opposite. They gave an excuse that the kitchen was understaffed. Then why do they pack the restaurant, knowing that they are understaffed and orders will be backed up???
This is a wonderful place! From the decor to the wait staff to the food and wine, everything was terrific! We had quite the meal here and left feeling full and delighted. Definitely recommend!
Always an incredible meal....you can never go wrong here with any dish. Tuna carpaccio with truffles was out of this world.
Food was just ok- especially given the price. Better off sticking with the pastas for flavor. Pasta with truffles was delicious. Prosciutto and burrata was a bit flavorless and the branzino came with tepid uncooked vegetables. Presentation of fish once it was fileted was poor. I wouldn’t return. There are much better options for Italian in the city that are less expensive
The best italian in NYC and fun atmosphere. Great place for a special celebration. Fantastic wine list and very friendly staff!
Al iniciar poca gente en el restaurante, se sentía comodidad en espacio y ambiente de ruido.
Al terminar, mucha gente en el restaurante, muy apretado los espacios y mucho ruido en el ambiente.
Staff could not care less
Food poor and expensive
I will not return
Order taken quickly and appetizers arrived with drinks
Squash blossoms tasteless and soggy, like they had been frozen and reheated. Then the waiter disappeared. One by one the tables emptied and we sat there, unattended. I finally asked another waiter for a glass of wine but that was finished and the entrees still did not arrive. Finally,
The main course appeared and it was cold when it should have been hot/
Horrible service. There were multiple tables complaining about how long everything took. We waited two hours for our food to arrive.
Understaffed, inattentive. The table next to us was so upset they walked out. We stuck around because of three very hungry kids. One of whom slept before the food even got there. Food was good, but honestly the service was so terrible I wish we had gone to Olive Garden.
Service was very slow so you have to have a lot of time when visiting. Had a reservation and still waited 30-40 minutes to be seated. Food took about 30 minutes to come out. Waiter was running the whole restaurant so it was hard to get his attention. Seating hostess was phenomenal and apologetic about the wait (something about Open Table double booking the restaurant). Food was OK. Lasagna took forever to make but was exceptional. Bolognese was mediocre. I think the restaurant was way overpriced for their food and portion sizes. Tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had. I probably wouldn’t go back. We were there for 2.5 hours! Good experience and nice people though.
They were obviously short staffed as are most restaurants. And yet staff was pleasant & courteous. Food was excellent
Overall the experience & service were good. My friends and I enjoyed the evening together. Some liked there meals, while others did not. We were all not impressed by their desserts (which they gave for free) and espresso martinis. Where we were disappointed was the pressuring/miscommunication for certain items. We wanted tap water, received bottle sill water ($36) and then ordered 2 anti pastas for the table, and received a plate for each of us (8 people) resulting in $200 additional. As a result, our bill was nearly $250 higher then it should have been. As guests, we could have made a bigger deal, but didnt so my advice would be to be very clear and dont let staff pressure you into items.
Even the place is pretty with a great service, the food is nothing special talking about taste. We asked for 3 diferentes wines they have on the list but we’re out of stock.
We went there in a large group of 11 and nobody was impressed with the food
Always a fantastic meal and exceptional service. What more can you ask for.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our server was on point.
Always a winner. Send all my friends there
Excellent food (risotto !) and salmon and swordfish. Extensive wine selection from all over the world.
Quiet conversation is possible which is NOT true at many places.
I’m glad we found this establishment only 2 blocks from Hilton Avenue of the Americas
Beautiful day for outside dining.the meal was incredible. Starting with a bursts salad that was the best I’ve ever had. Then a spicy seafood pasta… remarkable.
