From the moment we stepped in the restaurant host and service was superb!! Ambiance was gorgeous and the food, oh my, so delicious 😋. This isn’t a restaurant where your going to “feast” for the price. This was a perfect evening out for me and my bestie to have wine, laugh, talk, and enjoy the best small plates. If you love seafood do not pass on the fish with skin and don’t forget the mac n cheese …yummmmmm. We will back just for those two items oh and the wine 🍷😀.

Wonderful dining experience. I’ve never been disappointed at a Jose Andres restaurant. This was one of the best and we are lucky to have it in Los Angeles. We tried two salads. The beet salad was exceptional. Smoky and delicious. The vermicelli pasta is like nothing I’ve had before. Cheesy but not too much - and crunchy too. So good. The lamb chops perfectly cooked and the sauce and spices perfect! The Basque cheese cake - heaven! Can’t wait to go back. Excellent wine and the service outstanding.

The food at San Laurel is creatively fun and delicious. The portions are very small (probably what they really should be). The prices are very high. For the money, you get a beautiful environment, excellent service, an excellent wine list, and a FEEL GOOD ALL OVER experience. The inside of the restaurant was gorgeous! It was too cold and I don't think people were sitting outside. The Mac and Cheese was like no other I've ever had. It was made with small spaghetti-like noodles and had little eggs on top. I never asked what kind of eggs, but they were delicious! My friend loved the dinner and experience of fine dining as much as I did. We will be back in Springtime so we can experience the meals outdoors. I highly recommend San Laurel for everything from location, service, selection, quality, and taste of the dishes! Thank you, José Andrés.

We had a fabulous time. The food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. The restaurant also has a great view of Disney Concert Hall and the Music Center. We look forward to going again.

We went for the Thanksgiving special menu and were blown away by the food, cocktails, wine and service. A truly memorable night and a wonderful staff. Can’t wait to go back for a special occasion.

We arrived in time at 7.00pm on a Saturday evening. We were told there would be a 35 min wait because the restaurant was overbooked. We were encouraged to go to the bar for debunks “if there are seats available.” Eventually, we were seated around 7.50, with the wait staff talking unprofessionally about the stress she and her colleagues had been suffering. The food was fine. Not an experience I’d want to repeat.

made a 6:15 pm reservation. got there at 6:10pm. didn't get a table until 7:15pm. had to eat very quickly to catch the 8pm LA Phil concert. their explanation was that there were too many people eating at the time of my reservation and they have to wait until people finish eating before they seat us. so lame! no apology from the manager nor a discount. probably the worst service i can think of.

The food was amazing. But, there was some issue with reservations and we were seated 1 hour after our reservation time. And we were only seated after I had to inquire about our table 3 times. I understand that things happen, but there was very little in the way of an apology or any attempt to make up for the wait.

While the food at San Laurel remains consistently good, service has varied considerably both in the restaurant and at the bar. There were long delays between courses, and despite repeated assurances by a very kind waiter, the kitchen was simply overwhelmed. A similar problem occurred at the bar. The menu is interesting, but could use some updating. There is disorganization in the management, although most do try to respond professionally. Oversight seems lacking.

Was looking forward to eating here for over a year as Jose Andres is my favorite chef and went to his other LA restaurant Bazaar for years. Went for a birthday dinner and was unimpressed. The waitress kept rushing us and trying to clear our plates and it was not worth the price at all

Excellent food quality, excellent view, excellent staff (who unfortunately seemed understaffed and a bit overwhelmed). All in all a great spot for DTLA breakfast. I look forward to exploring their later-day menus as well.

Felt like the restaurant has not been staffed yet with qualified people. Service was atrocious. Food came out before cocktails. Manager acting as waiter had trouble opening wine. Just poor performance. Food was delicious and well prepared. Also, hard to find. No directional signage in the project.

Excellent breakfast to include the most delicious and lightest pancakes on the planet. My wife’s eggs Benedict were exceptional. And, we saw Jose Andres at a distance which made our late breakfast so very memorable.

My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions and have enjoyed it each time. The service and food are quite good especially the shrimp dish and the fish dish. The cheesecake dessert is outstanding.

Our expectations were reasonable.. as we were meeting for breakfast, and how exciting can breakfast food really be? Turns out.. pretty exciting! Everything was truly special. Don't miss out on the house made yogurt parfait.. order one for the table and share it. It's unreal! Everyone in our party RAVED about their food and we tried a little of everything.

Fantastic service. Great cocktails beware the rack of lamb is really just a few chops. Not the usual rack but delicious. Menu is a little small
