Our reservations are designed to give you the first available table at your booking time. Please keep in mind that we do not reserve specific tables, or areas of the restaurant. We maintain space for walk-ins, so if you’re having trouble finding a reservation, please stop by when you get to the neighborhood.
We serve traditional and contemporary Italian in one of Seattle’s oldest homes. Our menu changes daily and features handmade pasta and locally sourced seasonal entrees. We offer vegetarian and gluten free options daily.
Our reservations are for 2-hour time slots. We do our best to accommodate as many guests as possible, so please be considerate of other diners when you are finished with your meal.
We went on Friday March 15th with some apprehension given the current COVID-19 issue. I called ahead to ascertain how the restaurant was prepared to endure the highest level of employee and customer safety etc. in essence to ease our concerns. The owner answered my call and was amazing. He first of all thanked me for calling them proceeded to run down an impressive list of additional precautions he and his staff were now following. It was extremely apparent he had done his homework as both a restaurant owner but also as a human to do his/their part to reduce fears and build an even more dedicated and loyal customer. The place was impeccable and food was as always just the very best!! Love this gem.
Love this place. We sat upstairs in the 'Attic' which is a lovely, intimate spot. The waitstaff was great and offered some spot-on wine suggestions to go with the meal. She also coursed our shared meal out perfectly.
We love everything about this place. The food, the service (Denise is the absolute best)! The atmosphere is comfortable and stylish. My favorite place to eat brunch and dinner. Summer in the garden is fabulous and sitting at the bar is cozy. I cannot say enough good about San Fermo. We have become “regulars”.

I was recommended to try San Fermo by a colleague of mine. This was my first restaurant experience in Seattle. Upon arrival we were in love with the design of the restaurant and the small home feel. Walking in and being able to see the chefs make the meals and smell the food as you walk through the door was amazing. The interior was very cute and a great atmosphere. The cocktails were incredible and we were able to try multiple appetizers and they were all incredible and worth it. My wife ordered the Bolognese and I got the Braised Pork and they were both incredible dishes that I'd recommend to anyone else visiting. Great atmosphere, great for date night, great food.

Everything here is absolutely fabulous. The food and drinks are always wonderful. Waitress offered me wine samples to help me decide on a wine. Burrata is always on the menu and is to die for.
I wish the portions were just SLIGHTLY bigger. It’s hard to pay $23 for a dish of pasta. Not hard enough to keep me away, but I could have eaten double portions of all the food I ordered.
I love this place- the food, the ambience, the great servers. It's our go-to for a nice night out and never disappoints
Cozy and intimate establishment offering delightful Italian cuisine. The serving proportion is appropriate per dish. You will leave satisfied and full.

The atmosphere, service and food at San Fermo are all excellent. The smoked octopus dish was particularly well done. Great spot for a romantic dinner with your spouse or for a nice dinner with friends.

We are New Yorkers who spend a month in Seattle every winter and San Fermo is among our favorites in our restaurant rotation. The location in what looks like a tiny colonial cottage in the middle of hip and bustling Ballard is surprising and charming. The menu, though tightly edited, includes unexpected appetizers (For ex. Chick Pea Pancakes) , unique salads(Escarole and Kumquats and Escarole!) and truly delicious pastas. The saffron spaghetti with an elegant mixed meat Bolognese is among our favorites. Many dishes, though familiar, have just the twist to make them fresh and delicious. The meal is usually so perfect that we rarely opt for dessert but we're sure it would uphold the same level of creativity and satisfaction.
We always go to San Fermo for special occasions or just to have a wonderful evening.? It’s a very cozy atmosphere and you don’t feel like you’re rubbing elbows with your neighbor. Servers are always fabulous and professional. Looking forward to our next visit 😎

A damn perfect dining experience. Denise, our Server, was at point, gracious, fun and engaging. Three of us shared the burrata, then onto pasta and ossoboco + dessert. While we were there to celebrate a birthday, don't wait for a special occasion to enjoy an amazing restaurant!
I really want to write something that deters folks from going ONLY because we want access and don't want to deal others loving this great spot as much as we do! I wont say anything other than its fantastic and a spot that is not to be missed- just stay out of my way when trying to get a reservation...

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Seattle!
Food was super tasty but the amount was very limited. I could have eaten another plate and felt like i needed to go home and eat something else to curb my hunger. I would say it's on the expensive side for the amount of food.
Been hearing about this place for years, and finally was able to make it. Took my in-laws there for their 40th wedding anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised by the free Champagne toast we received when seated but apart from that, nothing wowed us... as we had hoped, based off all the chatter about this place.
Menu is super limited, yes, fresh ingredients, but only a few mains to choose from and since you can't see the menu online, we were disappointed on the options. It was a Sunday night, good atmosphere but the server felt rushed. We had to call him back several times to take the full order... he didn't pause or confirm we were done after someone spoke...
We live in Ballard, and prefer to visit Picolinos for our Italian fix. Don't plan on returning to San Fermo any time soon.
Super fun place for brunch! The mimosas are fresh and delicious. I’d recommend their version of the Eggs Benedict.

Crab Tagliatelle - just okay
Risotto - reminiscent of canned spaghetti, skip it
I think our server was new because she struggled answering some of the menu related questions we had. Not a big deal and she was okay otherwise.
The real black mark on San Fermo failing in service is Meredith, one of the managers, coming in hot at the end of our meal to very aggressively demand that we vacate our table because they had other people waiting to be seated. The notion of needing the table for the next party is completely reasonable but the way that Meredith delivered the message was not. There was no “do you mind settling up because we have a time limit on the table” or, “do you mind taking your drinks and moving to the bar” - she was aggressive and rude and ruined our experience. When we told her this, her bs apology was “I’m sorry you feel that way.” She made her guests feel unwelcome and we will not be back.
The place has potential, but not while Meredith is there.
Loved the ambiance, the food was good but a bit over priced. Our waitress was completely unhappy to help divide the ticket and got a bit snobby about it. It was not a nice way to end an otherwise lovely brunch.
It was our first time at the restaurant and we enjoyed the place and the food. I ordered the radicchio salad which was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had a little snafu when the waiter broke a glass at the table and they gave my husband a free dessert. We would definitely go back.
We always love going to San Fermo. Cute little place, great staff and great exceptional food and wine. You have to get the bolognese!
Wonderful evening dining with friends! requested a table for a celebration and was seated upstairs which was perfect. We were very happy with our appetizer, entree and wine selections. Would have liked first bottle of bubbly to have arrived prior to one appetizer being presented but all the rest of the service was attentive. Food was delicious! Would easily return!
The saffron spaghetti bolognese was by far the best bolognese I have ever had. Paired with a delicious bottle of wine, we could not have asked for a better date spot. My new favorite spot in Seattle!
Anniversary dinner was great! We always get the spaghetti bolognese. Loved that they served us olives and almonds when we sat down.
The food was outstanding! The prices are high...for everything...wine, appetizers and entrees. That said, this will be a special occasion destination. With different pricing, we would go more often.

When they stuff you upstairs, and you're there for the first time wanting to experience the ambience downstairs it creates a first dining experience that you'll never forget. Also I found it to be very overpriced for the portion sizes that you get.
