We wound up eating in the tent outside. Food was terrific. It was my friends birthday and they even had a gluten free cake! And another party behind us where there was a birthday celebration. So one big family. Our server was an 18 boy who was excellent. Certainly will return
I ordered the Malfadini and it was so salty I had to send it back. I then ordered the risotto and it was like a rice soup which was not good. It was very disappointing. The ceasar salad was good though.
Service was slow, they make you order all at once. Other party walked out due to being ignored. We requested the back patio if possible, their website says they don't guarantee it, which is understandable, but we were the first people to be seated and they didn't even try, just plopped us in the first seat they had.
The food was good but entres were extremely salty, my wife and I had to switch plates due to hers being too salty (and we are salt lovers..). Portions were small and prices are high.
Overall would have been a decent experience but the service was lacking. They charge an automatic %20 gratuity with no option for an additional tip. I understand being understaffed (though at least 3 servers and a host were there) but it seems like they had just given up.
We made a reservation for four. We were told to be prepared to show proof of vaccination for COVID-19. We weren't told we would be seated outside. Service was very slow--the waiter explained that there was only one bartender serving drinks for all diners. We were patient--we're all in this together, right? However, after we finished dinner, the waiter balked at providing a dessert menu because we'd overstayed a two-hour limit--which no one had mentioned to us. The food was okay. The ambiance--in a makeshift shelter on the street--was bleak. The service was slow. The attitude was terrible.
Great Italian food and cocktails! And cool ambiance looks like a house from the outside
Amazing pasta and starters.
Saw some rats in outdoor area
OMG, their food was so delicious yet simple. I want to go back immediately! The carbonara and bolognese were to die for. I will be back, and will be sure to take my family here when they visit!
Restaurant was cold as well as my sons meal. Not great menu selection. Very unimpressed.
Awesome all around; wait staff fabulous; mushroom appetizer was incredible
We haven’t dined out in a long time and although the food was good it was a lackluster experience. We didn’t head out to dinner in Ballard to sit all by ourselves in a silent attic… not the most exciting experience. They require vaccination and then seat everyone in separate rooms.
San Fermo has a charming ambiance and excellent food. However, when it comes to seating and service, they are not as flexible and accommodating to the diner as they should be. San Fermo needs to practice saying "yes" more and "no" less. The food is overpriced by about $3-$5 per dish and beverage. But then San Fermo also adds an automatic 20% tip to every bill without allowing the diner to reward the server based on the actual service. That policy contributes to the perception that the diner owes something to the restaurant and that the restaurant is entitled to the diner's generous business. We want to love San Fermo and will keep trying.
Always love coming here, one of my favorites in ballard.
The restaurant was moving very slowly! Not completely surprising because it was a busy Saturday, but the food didn’t compensate. Small portions, big prices, and the food was very mediocre.
Charming delicious food with attentive staff!
It was a great experience. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and they made the night feel special. Excellent food and service! A great little place for a romantic night.
We had a fantastic experience…as usual . One of the best Restaurant in Seattle.
The ragu was incredibly spicy (and I like spicy food). Must have been a mistake. Server never asked “how was the food?” or I would have told them directly.
This is one of our favorite places in Ballard. It was a little off this night as the service was fine but my pasta was cold and there was some mix-up at the front. We had made reservations over two months in advance as we don't live in Seattle. We were told it was first come, first serve on reservations? This evening we had a special birthday, so maybe not the best evening to hear that news. I am going to chalk this up to the strange situation with covid and will definitely go there again.
I wish we knew our reservation would be outside on the street before coming as we’ve been planning a first visit with a friend for a while
All around amazing food and wonderful service! Current favorite spot!
Delicious food! From the bread to cheesecake everything was sooo good. The tomato tart and buratta with peaches were perfect seasonal appetizers. Our entrees Spaghetti Bolognese, Carbonata and Ravioli were some of the best dishes we’ve tasted in a very long time. We will definitely return!
Really delicious! Loved the ambiance.
Quaint little spot in Ballard. Beautiful outdoor seating. Attention to detail down to the quirky dishes. Food was creative and delicious.
Great place, food was pricy but very very good and in high quality!
A little disappointing they don’t serve bread.
I normally love this restaurant - however the service was really rough and we had a rat running around the patio.
The food was excellent. The mushroom appetizer is out of this world!
My son picked the spot for my visit. We sat on their enclosed porch; it was a warm and quiet area. From the burrata appetizer all the way to the lemon polenta cake dessert our dining experience was tremendous. Highly recommend!
We had a fabulous dinner. The pastas were so fresh.
Wonderful experience all around. One of my Seattle favorites.
First time experience, loved it! Such lovely ambiance on the outdoor balcony patio, memorable music absolutely delicious Bologna’s pasta, can’t wait to go back!
Great food, great staff. Was nice outdoor with overhead heating lamps until the Ninja rat began flying around. Would be 5/5 if it wasn’t for the rat.
I used to love this place. I was so looking forward to the fresh pasta, wonderful sauces and inventive new Italian. Unfortunately, I was sincerely disappointed with a lackluster meal here. Outside of the tomato tart, which was fresh and delicious, all other dishes were just lacking in flavor and finesse. Flavorless peaches with burrata and sloppy presentation and high prices for nice but semi-dull mushroom sauce on the scallops and 4 mussels over dry pasta, both for over $30. I'm sad to say this one is off my list of go-to's.
Love it and always do! We come here at least once or twice a month maybe three times of lucky!
We had a great experience with trying out the unique menu as well as with the excellent service staff.
Paid $350 for a dinner for 4 people (meal + 2 drinks a piece) to have rats running under our table. Told a server about the rats and she brushed it off like it’s been a ongoing issue. So unless you want rats at your feet at dinner I’d choose somewhere for dinner.
Overall good. Our appetizers arrived promptly, but there was a long wait until the main courses arrived. Our server didn’t provide any updates. There may have been a bunch of to go orders in front of ours. Also, the server didn’t get our glasses of wine on the bill. We had to remind them. Finally, there was an automatic 20% gratuity. I wish restaurants would let you know before you order.
Fabulous experience. Great staff, beautiful ambience. Great food!!!
Portion sizes were small. Service was lacking in attention and entrees came out at different times
