Japanese food, often confused with other Asian cuisines, has gradually grown custom to the American culture. At Ramen Bar, we want our guests to discover the true flavors of Japan. From our Veggie Miso to our Tonkotsu and our tasty Mayu Black Garlic Oil ramen, each noodle dish embodies its very own rarity of flavors that may not be familiar to many.
As per design, we eliminated the front and back of the house formality to clear any boundaries between the kitchen and our guests. It invites guests into the hub of the restaurant, and facilitates conversation between guests and cooks. It’s important our guests not only experience the food but also witness the event of which their food is being prepared.
They were able to accommodate a party of five on a Friday night and did a great job. Great food, quiet and comfortable. I lost my phone, they found it and returned it to me! Give them a try.
Overall good. The food is quite good, the Ramen broth is flavorful and portion sizes are adequate. All cash only, so leave your credit card at home.
Great portions and food quality
Duck buns and rice bowls tasty
The area is super nice and you can choose to eat inside or out. Sushi made fresh to order where you can see it. They have an interesting byob policy and the food was great and pretty authentic. The only problem my party had was the ramen broth was a little oily.
Loved it!! Great food and service and the area was cool too!
AMAZING FOOD - noodles were so fresh and the vegetarian ramen was perfection. Such a cute location and great vibes. Def going again!
Restaurant was freezing cold at 12noon (we’re from Chicago!), did they not pay their heating bill? Cash only was a drag.
Food was good, though.
I had eaten here before and enjoyed it very much. I took my daughter who came in from out of town. She is a big Ramen fan. I ordered exactly the same thing I had before and it was tasteless this time. Ironic since it was garlic based. But it tasted like a bowl of water. My daughter ordered Miso based which for some odd reason tasted like a French muscles in white wine dish. Also ironic because the restaurant does not serve alcohol. I explained to our server that we did not care for the Ramen and that we would pay for the appetizers and leave. She had to get the owner of the restaurant on the phone for his approval. I then spoke to the owner and told him I enjoyed it very much last time but it just wasn’t working this evening. He insisted I pay for the food we did not even touch. I asked him if he had ever been to a restaurant and returned something because he did not like it. He said yes. I said well that’s what’s happening tonight. He said to me it must be my taste buds. I said this is A horrible example of customer service and this is not how a good restaurant is generally run. I asked him his name and he said his name was John. I asked for his last name and he refused to give it to me. I said this is your restaurant and you won’t tell me your last name? I never did get his last name, but I did pay for the entire meal which we never ate and I promised him I would absolutely write a review of his restaurant. I’ve never written a review of a restaurant in my life. I would not recommend this place.
It was good. Low key and solid food!
Loved their noodles. Will shortly become a local favorite for me.
Good food. Well prepared. Prompt service. Great place to eat before a show in Dumbo.
Happened upon the Ramen bar when visiting Dumbo. Able to get a table easily. Very casual but clean and tidy with very tasty Ramen.
Good, traditional ramen. The key is the broth, which was really excellent.
I was looking forward to authentic ramen soup, and because the restaurant is in DUMBO I expected something special. The food was not as flavorful as past ramen experiences in other restaurants, and my friend observed hot plates being used in the kitchen vs. a stove. So, for a quick casual eat it is good, but I would check out other places before going back.
Good restaurant !
Went for lunch with a coworker. It was nice and bright and the staff was very nice. The Ramen was just ok. I won't be going back, but the overall experience was good.
Good quality ramen, reasonable prices and service but BYOB (didn't know).
