The best Korean BBQ in NYC, hands down. Don’t sleep on the egg soufflé or pork shoulder galbi. Unique dishes but also all the hits and classic KBBQ fare. Incredible attention to detail from cooks grilling meat and friendly staff overall. Fabulous drinks too!
The food was great. The service was amazing!!! Can not complain about anything. Love the fact that they didn’t have a huge wait although I did make a reservation but I came late with a few friends and didn’t have to wait.
Great food as always. Service is very good.
Was the best Korean BBQ I’ve had. Can't wait to visit shortly.
Great food, great ambiance, and nice decor. The place was packed and the waitstaff let us know with plenty of time that the table was reserved for another party 2 hrs later. Excellent service!
Service quality has been declining noticeably over the last year or so
Service was quick and efficient. Food was tasty, but a bit pricey.
The meat they served was very high quality and the services was very fast.
Great food, fun experience, but very VERY loud. Only go if you don't mind a noisy experience and if you are the type of person that can talk loud enough to be heard.
They cancelled our reservation for 12 people with less than 2 hours notice due to alleged kitchen issues. However, restaurant was open and serving people at the time of our reservation. Terrible business practice and ethics. Also undermines the integrity of Open Table if reservations are not honored.
So rushed, the drinks came after all the food is served.
Always good, eaten on many occasions and plan to go back.
My first time trying Korean BBQ. I am sure it is considered a very good restaurant but not my taste at all.
Way too expensive to come with such bad service and their portion sizes are inconsistent- sometimes you get 1 piece with Samwon Galbi, sometimes 2, and each time you get a different explanation why - and for that price I expect consistency and generosity. Also the service this time was abysmal. I love the food here but taking everything into consideration, especially how poor the service was this time, I’m no longer a fan and will not return - what a shame.
The door from the kitchen is dangerous. A member of our party was hit hard in the head by someone blindly opening the door into walking space in the restaurant.
Food and service was very good as usual.
Came here for my husbands birthday. The restaurant is great- beautiful setting, modern and clean. The service is quick and concise. Keep in mind they cook the food for you at your table, you sit back and watch, all while enjoying your food. It does happen very quickly, so be prepared to eat fast!!
The food is AMAZING and completely worth the price. The BBQ service is a great experience, and you receive a LOT of food. My husband and I struggled to finish the spread between the two of us.
Highly recommended for any occasion, and all ages!
Probably one of the best Korean barbecue I have ever had. It is traditional but modernly efficient. The service was exceptional. The quality of meats and side dishes are excellent. I would go back there again on my next trip to NYC.
Very good food and good value overall. We’ve been coming here for about a year and BBQ is always consistent. Service is also very efficient. The amount of meat is relatively small per portion but it comes with many “extras” that will make you full, yet craving for more meat (yes, it’s that good). In short, a great place to visit for a table side cooking with family or clients
I am always looking for the ideal bulgogi (short rib BBQ) and banchan (side dishes). This was good, and I would go back, but I'm still searching for perfection.
The service was great and the food was equally amazing!! This place is a gem in Koreatown!!!
No dessert offered
Amazing food and experience. Definitely going back on my next trip to the city.
made a reservation on opentable last sunday, went to the restaurant and the person in the front struggled to find our reservation and snapped at me for making the reservation about 40 mins ago. (If they didn't want to accept reservations at a short, why did they let it happen?) Anyways, they got us seated and the place is not very well air-conditioned so that was a little unpleasant...Wish it was more cooler so we could enjoy the various hot foods they served. Food was good, came out pretty fast, service was good except for the unpleasant front desk person's attitude.
Hostesses are very un-accomodating.
Loud music and unable to hear any conversation.
service is not bad, but not good either.
food is very pricey and lots of things considered 'included' in other Korean restaurants need to be ordered.
The ambiance and service were good. I like the restaurant decor - chic and rustic. The servers were prompt to cook the barbecue for us. Water service was spot on. For me the food was average. It was not a wow compared to the other Korean restaurants I have eaten in - just regular Korean flavor. I have tasted a more variety of appetizers in other Korean restaurants. Overall, I will still recommend Samwon Garden to a friend. It is reasonably priced.
seated promptly at our reservation time, steak tatare x 2 was superb, my rib eye and my wifes short ribs were outstanding. the young wait staff cooks at your table and answers any questions, the bologi kimchi fries were an unexpected treat
I made a reservations for 3pm but my appointment firsted early so i headed over there. Luckily they were about to accommodate me at an earlier time. I definitely believe that during dinner time it would be packed but we went at a perfect time! Service was great and helpful with our questions regarding the food.
Excellent food and great cocktails. Decor is pretty and overall staff was nice!
The food was great. And the service was on point and very attentive. This is my second time going. And will definitely come again.
Portions are not huge but they are good. Server was not very polite.
Super expensive! The dish was so small. I will NEVER visit again.
Wonderful service, excellent food- perhaps some of the best kimchi I’ve had anywhere! Would definitely go back!
The waitress serving us was very rude.
The very best Korean bbq in NYC
The food was truly outstandingly sumptuous and plentiful. The pan-chan was great and refilled to our desire. Clean place and very attentive staff.
Don't bring your kids here! They charged us $15 for a Shirley Temple and insisted that was correct despite our pleas! Food is good. They will rush you through your meal though.
Even though I made a reservation three weeks in advance and specifically noted that it is a special occasion, they sat us at a table all the way at the end of the dining room in a corner. When I approached the host and explained that we were tourists and would like to sit at a better situated table to enjoy the atmosphere more, I was flat out told that it's not possible and that I can't change my table. The server was extremely unpleasant with an attitude could be almost considered rude. She was not into what she was doing at all, like she was doing us a favor serving to our table! She also did not care, for example, that when she was cutting the meet for the BBQ that the raw marinate was dripping into our salad bowl. No one deserve such service.
Outstanding Korean barbecue and non-barbecue food. First rate service. Only downside was overly loud K-Pop coming from the speakers which sometimes made it difficult to converse. The high quality imaginative food made it likely that we will return
The fever deal is definitely worth it! I recommend ordering another beef dish to grill along with the pork you get
