Samuel's Restaurant, a spacious and airy room, with sweeping views over the castle's gardens and Home Lake, enjoys an enviable reputation for the quality of it's 3AA rosette food. Our Executive Chef, Simon Crannage, develops menus to emphasise seasonal and local produce inspired by the fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in the hotel’s four acre walled garden (the largest hotel kitchen garden in the UK). The hotel is also surrounded by a 20,000 acre estate stretching from the River Ure in Wensleydale up onto the moorland Dales and estate venison, rabbit, smoked trout and game are a few examples of the local ingredients sourced from it. Lunch is served in Samuel’s on Saturday and Sunday from 12.30pm until 2.00pm. Dinner is served daily from 7.00pm until 9.30pm. Children under the age of 8 are not permitted to dine in Samuel’s. The Castle Menu of lighter meals is served all day in the Bar and Drawing Room, and on the Terrace in summer from 12.00pm until 10.00pm. Smart dress required.

Absolutely outstanding in every way. The surroundings are stunning. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely Devine and I would highly recommend it.

The only good thing about the restaurant was the location and the grandeur of Swinton Park. Although the food was good but we were incredibly let down by the service, scruffy unknowledgeable staff, and the general "couldn't care less" attitude which spoilt a rather special birthday celebration. Our bill was calculated wrongly and although this was put right, we waited 30 minutes to get the bill and were left in the dining room (the only diners in there) for well over 40 minutes after our desserts without being asked if we wanted any teas/coffees. Definitely a case "of out of sight - out of mind". When we asked "how the beef was served" the response was "it comes with potatoes"!! Very very disappointed.

Excellent upmarket restaurant in a stately home-professional service at reception,in the bar and in the magnificent restaurant Best Sunday Lunch we've had for ages and really good value. Unfortunately,they had no record of our Open Table booking,but that wasn't a problem as ,surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't busy
