It was the first night they served indoors. The service needs a bit more practice but we were pleased with our meals and the wine selection. The garlic parmesan fries could have been better if they were more crisp and less oily. Will return.

We really enjoyed what we had but asked for off menus items. Steamers for a appetizer (they were on the menus for a lobster bake meal) No go. I had fish with rice and asked for a side vegetable. Again no go. The waitress was very polite about it and a excellent server.

We loved the beach dining. A little silver lining to come out of this pandemic. We find the indoor dining room at Samuel Slaters to be very noisy. I think, due to the concrete floors. So we love dining on the deck. But there aren’t a lot of outdoor tables, and you can’t reserve them. Because we can arrive by boat, the outdoor dining totally fits the experience. The food is always good and the menu is varied. Something for everyone!

Father's Day Lunch on the water was fabulous. Ambiance of course was lovely. Our waitress Sammie was awesome. Very energetic, attentive and great with suggestions. Outdoor dining on the patio in the shade by the water on a hot hot day, couldn't have asked for a better spot.

Wow. What a find searching online for a restaurant half way between family. Fantastic meals. Awesome, very attentive service. Lake view. Live music. COVID comfortable ... masks, gloves, online menu, distancing, single use plates/glasses/utensils. Thank you for a wonderful Father’s Day!

In these tough pandemic times it is difficult for restaurants to create a great ambience with take out containers and plastic silverware. However, even with these obstacles the food was first rate. The brussel sprouts and clam chowder were amazing as appetizers and the scallops and lobster mac n cheese as entrees did not disappoint. Highly recommended as a first class dining experience even in these times.

We had been to this restaurant last year and were seated on the outside deck and it was so nice. We knew this time would be different due to Covid but we expected more than picnic tables and take out containers. The food was good although I think some of the portions were less than they would have been had we been seated inside. My husband was put off by the delivery of food in the buckets you use to clear tables and as one who recycled I hated seeing all those containers used for an hour and then thrown away. We actually took ours home to reuse or recycle. We loved being outside and it was our first time eating out since Covid but it could have been better.

Thanks for your feedback. Buckets used to clear tables are sanitized between uses. Our containers are made from recycled plastic. We do our best to recycle them once used. We use dinnerware for indoor diners but takeout containers are needed on the beach to follow our no-glassware policy. Servers also walk down 2 flights of stairs to deliver food and can't carry dishes as easily. Please send us an email at feedback@samuelslaters.c om with additional comments. We hope you’ll dine with us again.

Made reservations for lunch outdoor seating. Not all tables had umbrellas and it was in mid 90s with blazing sun..took 20 minutes to seat us in shade when there were tables available. Waited another 20 minutes for drink order. Food order arrived in a reasonable amount of time and quality of food was average. They need more wait staff!

We’re sorry you were dissatisfied with your experience at Samuel Slater’s. We’re thrilled to be open again during these unusual times. Unfortunately, not all our outdoor tables are covered. We try to enforce a time limit to free up tables as quickly as possible, but we’re not always able to accommodate all needs immediately. We’re in the process of adding more wait staff. Please reach out to feedback@samuelslaters.c om with additional comments or feedback. We hope you’ll dine with us again soon.

I am not quite sure why this is happening. Perhaps behind-the-scenes there’s more going on, things we don’t understand in regards to the whole Covid pandemic. Why, has the quality of food gone drastically down hill? My husband and I Have been back to a few of our favorite restaurants including Samuel Slater‘s. Honestly, the food is NOT the SAME. We had Shrimp Cocktail and it was over- cooked and tasteless. I had a lobster roll it was lobster in a bun no effort to dress it. My sister-in-law had a lobster mac & cheese and it tasted like it was out of a box. I hate to be so critical but they need to know it’s going to affect their business. I certainly hope things change in the future, because if they don’t we will never go back.

I was looking forward to sitting outside and watching the water. We were seated on the side of the building - no view. We had to use our phones to access the menu. We were served all our meal in plastic. I understand that these are difficult times but the only positive about the meal was our server. She was the best I've had in quit a long time.

Thanks for leaving feedback about your dining experience. We’re very excited to be open again but we're working with some unique constraints. We use online menus to reduce contact between you and the server. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee tables right on the lake given our space and social distance requirements. We have a no-glassware policy out on the beach for the safety of you and our staff, so we are serving meals in our takeout containers. We have returned to regular dinnerware inside.

We ordered shrimp scampi, the worst we ever had. Prices were pretty high. Don’t like eating out of plastic with plastic utensils.

We have been there before & we were very pleased with the food each time. I know times are hard but, we were disappointed this time.

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience at Samuel Slater’s. These circumstances are new for all of us as we adjust to a "new normal." We use takeout containers and single-use utensils because glassware is not allowed on the beach and it helps us handle and deliver food more safely. We will return to normal dinnerware when indoor dining reopens. Feel free to reach out to us at feedback@samuelslaters.c om. We value your opinion and hope you’ll dine with us again soon.

The food and service were good. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, I was disappointed with the presentation of food. Takeout containers were used . Also, we were seated close to some trash barrels which were being emptied and the bags were leaking. The bags were then dragged through the area where people were dining.

Outstanding dining experience on the beach. Restaurant is very very careful about keeping things safe--your drinks and tablewear are disposable plastic. Their craft cocktails are superb, and their wine list is well thought out. The quality of the dishes is excellent, with top ingredients and skilled preparation. We had steamers, grilled shishito peppers, grilled street corn, and brussel sprouts for our table of 6 appetizers and I had the salmon pho for my main. Typically could care less for salmon at a restaurant, but this was done wonderfully, in a homemade pho stock with homemade kimchee and rice noodles and veggies. YUM. Prices are very fair for what they give you. GO!

Service from
Sam L was great! Food was good but I was not pleased with the Take out containers or plastic silverware packet. I thought originally it was due to current state mandates but I have gone to other restaurants where they are currently using dishes and silverware. Considering our bill was $100 I would have expected a bit more.

While we recognize the inconvenience of takeout containers, we use them because breakable glassware is not allowed on the beach and it helps our staff safely deliver food from the kitchen to your table. Servers need to walk down 2 flights of stairs and cannot carry dishes up and down as easily. We are using regular dinnerware indoors. Please feel free to reach out to us at feedback@samuelslaters.c om if you have additional comments. We value your opinion and hope you’ll dine with us again soon.

This was our first visit to this restaurant since a very poor experience over seven months ago. This experience was very good. The food was served timely with an attractive presentation and was very tasty. Our server was excellent. My past concern about this restaurant has been that the kitchen production doesn't seem sufficient for the seating capacity. During this visit, the restaurant was about half empty. Everything came out timely and was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend, but I would advise them to make their first visit during a non-peak time in order to ensure a good first experience.

It wasn't as crowded as I expected on a Friday. Maybe it's a Saturday night place or more of a summer place? The service was ok. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. My only complaint and no deal breaker really was that there seemed to be a sense of being hurried even though the place was 1/2 empty. We were with friends we wanted to talk to and weren't in a rush to look at a menu and order quickly. The waitress came back several times and then was just hovering while we were deciding. The food came out when we were still eating salads and appetizers. It's probably harder to time things when the kitchen isn't busy? The food was very good. The Caesar salad dressing was a hit. The figs, goat cheese, bacon app was wonderful. The bolognese was great. We had desserts(excellent!), cappuccino and maybe 6 cocktails total and the bill was about $140 per couple with tip. So overall a very positive experience and I definitely would go back.
