Great food and great view, clam chowder and lobster rolls were great.
The food is great!
It is expensive, but worth the price.
The chowder was delicious... however that naked lobster roll was dry and unsatisfying. Seemed almost rubbery. Also, waitress forgot the kids salmon and had to ask for water twice. Son was getting crabby because he was hungry.
Very Nice , Thank you . Took my Wife for Our 25 th Year Anniversary , she Loved it , great Food , good music and A Very Warm and Relaxing Place To be in the Evening.
We were seated right away and our waiter came right over to introduce himself. We ordered our drinks, appetizer and main courses all at once. Maybe shouldn't have done that. Our appetizer arrived before the drinks and our main meal followed a few minutes later. The drinks arrived last. The waiter was very apologetic, it was a fairly busy Saturday night, but I felt a bit rushed. We had a 5:15 reservation and we were done by 6:15. The food was amazing. Just wish we could have slowed things down a bit.
Have seen the packed parking lot many times finally made a reservation and loved it. Great selection of seafood including local, saw plenty of kid-friendly options, excellent appetizers, main courses, gumbo and desserts. Pricey but location is outstanding, lots of indoor and outdoor seating for groups of all sizes, we will definitely go back for future special occasions.
Oysters were fresh and fried calamari was tasty but the lobster roll was flavorless and the service was very slow
The view was spectacular. The food was ok I have a salad. The restaurant was overpriced. I heard it was a famous place. I had been there two years ago on my visit to Pacifica but didn’t know that.
We come here often for the clam chowder, which is very good! This was our 1st time for a full meal, and we were very disappointed in the food quality; very bland, starchy, just not very good. We will continue to come for a beer, chowder, view, but not the main menu.
Great view, wonderful service and wonderful clam chowder
Always a great meal and a wonderful time!
Classic. Great service, food and views. Our waitress was exceptional and my martini was as good as the chowder.
Second time there and for me "I had the seafood spaghetti" as main course, it was the best I've ever had here in the US. For appetizer we had the tuna poke and it was delicious. My wife had the hot lobster roll and she liked it but it was dry. My first time there I had it and it was dry then. All it would need is a dipping sauce like a butter garlic sauce or aioli. We also had a clam chowder cup and it was ok. My cocktail drink was good and strong but the margarita my wife had was just ok. Overall it good dining experience and I would defiantly go back, especially for the beautiful view.
We have frequented Sam's Chowder House almost since it was started. We are sad to see the changes: high prices, too crowded, no parking, wait-staff who tried to sell you everything...
clam chowder to start with (when you've ordered a fairly heavy lunch?), more beverages, home-made desserts....)Wait-staff sounded like they were reading a script on top of "pushing the food."
Staff welcoming, table service excellent, food very good, lovely location on Half Moon Bay.
Try the poke! You will not be disappointed. It is always a hit.
We wanted a special place to celebrate our 15th anniversary-and Sam's is our go-to special place. They honored our reservation request for a window table "if possible" and were very attentive.
We'll be back often! Thank you.
The food preparation is top of the line. Can’t miss at Sam’s. The waiter we had was very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. The lady on the computer handling the reservations was not very people friendly.
Excellent service !!!
We had reservations and got into town early and we were seated 20min later having shown up 2 hours early..that was pretty cool and the Chopino 5 star..all the shell fish was huge..We will definitely be Back again
