I WILL NEVER USE OPEN TABLE AGAIN!! They allowed me to book a table that wasn't even available!! If you do book with open table make sure you check with the RESTUARANT directly!!! This has happened to me twice now!!!

Might have been nice had this OpenTable site not illegally used Samphire and taken fake bookings on behalf of them!!!! Turned up and was told our booking didn't exist as the restaurant do not use open table. Ruined our night by this scam

The Restaurant has been recently refurbished to a high standard to a characterful design. There is a nice distinction between the seated area and the (cocktail) bar area. The food is varied and quality excellent.

Pleasant evening out in a slightly quirky neighbourhood restaurant Excellent tapas sharing platter - enough for an evening meal in itself! Good fish - but slightly overdone for my taste. Good steak and lobster - terrific value for money on a Thursday night. Friendly, attentive service Very fair attitude when a mistake on the bill was pointed out by us Relaxed ambience - lulled us into wanting to stay a little longer so we chose a dessert to share The rhubarb and custard dessert (with a modern twist) was the highlight of the meal We would definitely return if we visit the Portsmouth area again

went to samphire for our anniversary and also took my daughter along. The staff were very accommodating and attentive without being to over bearing. The cocktails were amazing although my daughter would not be able to drink more than the one she had otherwise we would be carrying her outside!!!! the food that we had was excellent and the portion sizes were very good too. Everything was cooked to perfection and for fish lovers you will not be disappointed. We are already looking to re book to take my oldest daughter for her birthday and I urge everyone to try this restaurant its a gem of a place

Excellent meal and service dispite Open Table! They didn't send the request to the restaurant and do we only got in through a late cancellation. Owner and staff were fantastic and the fish delicious. Thank you Samphire

First time there, not a big fish eater so had a steak which was perfectly cooked as I wanted it. All food nice and hot and very well presented. Desserts were fantastic, service was excellent. All in all a great place to visit,will definitely be returning 👍.

I was surprised at how quiet it was for a Friday evening, considering the food is very good. Friendly staff. They are looking to hire a cocktail waiter as that is needed. But apart from that we will go again. Just delicious fresh food. Compliments to the chef/s
