Birthday occasion: Birthday dessert was wonderful! However, the band, Doctors on Call, was asked 2 times to recognize the Birthday girl - it never happened! We had chosen Sambuca’s specifically because of the band BECAUSE my friend had just received good medical news. We thought the irony of a band of doctors was too good to pass up. Plus, she had never experienced Sambuca’s and the combination of the band & the restaurant should have been a real treat. Since many other occasions were recognized by the band, she was disappointed. Also, the experience was expensive ($220/tip for 3,) paid by me as a treat to my friend. Otherwise, Jesse, our waiter, was awesome!
Great food and awesome live music. Definitely will return when in the Nashville Metro area.
Love this place, come for dinner and stay for the music. Great food, great service, They work as a team to make sure you get everything you need. Suggest reservations to seat on the main floor.
Wife’s 65th birthday
Wonderful dinner and our server Jesse was awesome! He was very well versed on the menu and I selected what he recommended and it turned out to be one of the best plates I've ever had! Beyond that he was also quite the entertainer, would go back not only for the food but to see him again. Great spot for us to enjoy our 25th Anniversary and the Jazz musicians were icing on the cake. Highly recommend this establishment.....5 stars!!!!
We went to Sambuca for Sunday brunch and were very pleased. Good food, good service, and a good price complete with live music. The only negative is parking in the gulch area. Normally, the restaurant has valet parking but lot until 5:00pm. There are lots with 1 hr free but as I learned, it takes a little more than an hour to have brunch at Sambuca. Having said that, given good weather you could walk about if you're paying for that second hour.
Sambuca's kitchen is outstanding. All four in our party loved their entrees, including my wife's turn at a vegetarian lasagna. Presentation, flavor, creativity all sublime. A little pricey. Outstanding service from Natalie, there just as we needed her and otherwise not. Our visit was on a Saturday night and the music was a little loud. But this is Nashville, you expect live music, and it's unlikely to be "easy listening". Overall a very nice experience.
Really enjoyed my first time at Sambuca! However, a bit pricey for the amount you get..Management, please adjust your food and drink menu to a moderate price and you'll be at the top of your game!
Sambuca has become my favorite restaurant in Nashville, and my husband and I dine out a lot. The food is unfailingly excellent and the ambience is ideal -- quiet and lively in perfect balance.
Wonderful experience. The food was amazing, service was great, the band was good. Thank you for the wonderful time
Awesome! Fantastic food! Upbeat experience!
Went for a birthday for my boyfriend and I let them know they did not acknowledge. We were seated in a corner where there wasn’t room. Also we told our sever that we didn’t like the Mac and cheese she did nothing about it.
My birthday brunch was amazing. Matt the server went above and beyond. The food was beyond delicious and so artfully presented. I will definitely be coming back and recommending everyone to dine here. They also have live music! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the sauce was the perfect mate! The calamari was crispy and delicious. Not oily at all! The beet salad with goat cheese is definitely something I’d recommend trying too! Can’t wait to come back!
One of my favorite restaurants in town. Amazing atmosphere, food, people. You'll love it!
We had an amazing date night at Sambuca! We planned on having an early dinner, then going to hear live music at a club near by. Instead, we ended up staying after dinner listening to some awesome live jazz right there at Sambuca!
The food was very good. We tried the crab and shrimp pasta and the salmon entrees. Both were excellent and had large portions. The service was truly amazing! Corey took great care of us and made the experience even better! This is a true gem among the very trendy and competitive restaurants in the Gulch area. We will definitely return.
I would recommend Sambuca to anyone in Nashville who wants a great meal with amazing live music. This is definitely a winner if you are taking your SO on a date. I am looking forward to revisiting again soon.
Foot was great and ambiance downstairs if also great. The upstairs sky lounge seems like more of an after thought. We had made reservations for the main dining area but they couldn't be accommodated when we got there. We'd definitely go back but probably just for drinks and apps in the bar area.
My husband and I dined at Sambuca when we visited Nashville. We had a fantastic meal, great service and got to see a wonderful jazz band accompanied by a very talented singer. We enjoyed it all from start to finish.
The bar area was packed and we were told we’d have to wait for our table. We were worried that given the crowd we’d be in for a long wait but we were good to go in only a few minutes. Our waiter was excellent, super friendly and attentive. We both had steaks (filet for me, ribeye for hubby) and the bruschetta as appetizer. So delish! And the music was really fun...definitely recommend!
Server was excellent and every bite was savory. The butter drizzled on the filet was to die for. Don't pass on the Mac n cheese, you won't regret it!
Food was great. Server Jesse was great. We had fun. Music was great also.
Excellent in every way. Will be returning for lunch again in the near future.
Brunch was delicious. Great pricing and the atmosphere was great. Loved the jazz band and music in background. Very relaxing for a Sunday afternoon.
Seated us 45 minutes after our reservation time, which we have had for a month. Waiter took an hour to take our dinner order. We had to get up and walk to the bar to order our own cocktails because the waiter never brought them to us. Service was slow we ended up being in the restaurant for 4 hours, not by choice. Had the weather not been so bad, we would have left and gone elsewhere. Although the food was delicious, very disappointed with this experience and I will never recommend this place to my guests visiting Nashville.
Great food, great service! If you want a meal with options and a place to impress the lady/gent then go here.
Was in Nashville on a family trip and wanted to find a place that appealed to our sophisticated NY foodie side but embodied the local music scene. Sambuca was it! For a Thursday night with no additional music cover we heard the most phenomenal act-combined, pop, rock, jazz, r&b. Casamigos tequila was house top shelf and signature blueberry margarita was off the charts. Menu items were also great combining the comfort of rich pasta dishes with home made sausages and fresh herbs with the completely out of this world mozzarella beignets....
To top it...we had the friendliest server who gave us great pointers for sightseeing and was a terrific conversationalist while not sacrificing attentiveness!
Birthday celebration. They were awesome!
Beautiful restaurant . Amazing Jazz band . That’s where I’ll start. Service seriously lacking in a restaurant of this caliber. $$ High Prices for this kind of issues. Our server was sweet and friendly but unfortunately not good. Some of it wasn’t her fault, though. She started out by telling us ( at a 7:45pm reservation ) that they were already out of things in the menu. . Ok , I can see if they were out of a special , but there were no specials. Only regular menu items. She literally had to go check on 2 different times. She should’ve been aware when she came to take our order first of all. Anyway, I and one friend ordered the filet .When mine came, it was undercooked . They had to put it back on . It still wasn’t right but I ate it. My other friend ordered the squid linguini with seafood. She said it was good. Not much seafood to it. 1 piece of lobster, 1 scallop and 1 shrimp . After dinner, She asked if we wanted dessert. We decided to share the berry cobbler . It came without the ice cream. We looked for her but she didn’t come out for a long time . And then told us they were out of ice cream. Really ??? She did say “Oh I should’ve told you.” All in all , I have to say, maybe offer complimentary dessert for trouble ? Or at least apologize. If you decide to try it , I suggest cocktails and the music. And we really were excited to go there per friends recommendation . Good luck.
Went for brunch for a bachelorette party. The food was excellent but the service was quite slow. Took almost 1hr 45min to get our food. But, we heard the kitchen was short staffed so I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s not usually that way. The band performing was great as well.
I planned my best friend's bachelorette party dinner here and it was more than I could ever ask for. The hosts were so sweet and knew the bride by name, and they put us by the stage and the singer honored our bride to be. Our server, Maxfield, was perfection, recommending so many incredible dishes-- the mozzarella beignets and the shrimp and crab dip were amazing, and the ribeye was the best I've ever had hands down. We came for the ambiance but left happier than we ever could've imagined. It's a must-try if you're looking for a great night on the town!
We had a great server and the food was phenomenal! Will definitely be back!
In town for 44th wedding anniversary with friends also celebrating their anniversary. The band was amazing and we were captivated all evening with this restaurant that we came across on line on the way into town from Charlotte NC. Couldn't have been in a better spot in Nashville and we are planning a yearly return trip to this restaurant.
It was delicious and they catered to our group well.
Food and service were great. We ate in the "Sky room" which had a really nice view. My main, but minor, complaint was the room was pretty chilly (it's wintertime now). I had to put my husband's coat over my legs to stay warm - even though I was wearing thick tights. When I asked the server if they could turn up the heat, the temperature then alternated between hot and cold. So clearly lots of glass = not much insulation. I also wish they had advised me when I made the reservation that we would be in the sky room, not the music room, as these rooms have very different personalities (and temperatures). Next time I will specify when making my reservation, although both rooms are very nice. My other complaint (also relatively minor) was that the Sky Room had a mostly classy feel that was marred by the monitors on the wall (gave it a sports bar vibe ) . The monitors weren't showing any TV shows but did show photos of their food etc. and detracted from the ambience. It would have really completed the romantic, sexy atmosphere if they would have just turned them off entirely. All this being said, I can't wait to go back. I'll just probably request the music room in cold weather and the sky room or awesome patio in warm weather.
Another fantastic meal at Sambuca. The food was amazing and we enjoyed sitting in the upstairs area by the windows.
We had reservations through Open Table and we were seated promptly on arrival. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was excellently prepared to perfection. The live blues band in the background added to the experience of the evening. This is a restaurant we frequent because we know it will be excellent.
My favorite Gulch restaurant! Food is amazing! Service is fabulous! I absolutley LOVE this restaurant!
