Great food and great service overall. Will come back again.
Excellent experience as usual !!! I've always had a great time !!
Drinks were good, food was even better. Wish the band had started on time so we could have enjoyed more live music, but what we heard was nice. Dance floor is a bit understated (small & crowded). Overall, fun environment & good meal.
Crab and shrimp bisque was amazing! The lights were a little low, but it was romantic....
The experience should have been a good one, but from the moment we sat down at our broken table.it was a debacle. From setting our wine bottle on the table unopened and walking away, to the hair in the main course and the "manager" not introducing himself when we asked for him and then chastising our server while we were still present. The whole meal was awkward, longer than it should have been and bordered between mediocre and unpleasant. The sides were quite good and some of the unique dishes were quite good. Overall our table of 6 gives it a 2 out of 10.
My highlight was watching them sit 2 other groups at our broken table and their subsequent request to move 15 minutes later. They finally took the broken table off the floor and replaced it with a folding table. The party that then sat there didn't have to worry much about it because after 25 minutes they still didn't have drink service, so they walked out.
Where do I begin. I suggested this place since I visited previously and had a great experience, not knowing this time would be a disaster. We arrived with a party of 7 and was seated fairly quickly. We got our drinks but for some reason it took them 30min after everyone got theirs to bring my husband his sprite. Appetizers were great! Then we had dinner from hell. After waiting 2 hours for our entrees with a half empty restaurant our food came out nearly cold and the food and tasted mediocre. The manager acted like he didn’t really care but after I made a fuss he credited 2 of the meals but I was left paying for the rest. This was my mother’s Birthday dinner thanks for ruining it!
Wish it wasn’t closing!!
It was our first time to dine at Sambuca, and we really enjoyed it. Our waiter gave us suggestions for cocktails, and they were wonderful. Our food was delicious. The only negative we experienced was later when I received an email from Open Table stating I hadn’t honored my reservation, when in fact we did. I sent back a response that we had indeed enjoyed dinner at Sambuca and it worked out. I guess the hostess failed to check us in, maybe??? But it was a wonderful date night!! We will definitely return!!
Our waiter must have been new. He kept getting our orders mixed up, and left off two requests which ultimately we went without. When the bills came, he returned our change to the wrong person.
Also, disappointed to see that pizza is no longer on the menu at lunch time.
Wish it was more of a jazz vibe for a Saturday night.... more of a party band.
Atmosphere was incredible and the service was excellent! Definitely returning~
Loved this place! Perfect for any occasion and the music is excellent.
We spent a very nice evening at Sambuca. The drinks were fabulous! The filet was very good. Drawback was the lobster tail. It was so salty it was inedible. Disappointing but we didn't send it back because we worked in the restaurant business and I am empathetic for the server. Music was great. However, we picked that night for a specific type of music (salsa) that was on the online calendar but it was a rock cover group. They were excellent but not the music we wanted to dance to. Overall very good. We dropped over $200. We will go back for another special occasion and for happy hour.
We felt like we were in a bar, not a restaurant. Sambuca's has an identity crisis...be a bar or a restaurant or separate your restaurant from the bar. It was soooo dark (including the terrible black walls!) we couldn't read our menus or see our food once it arrived. The singer was wonderful but we were there to eat and have a business dinner not listen to music. The waiter was not very skilled or knowledgeable about the menu though he was nice. The food was just okay. I had the chicken which was extremely over-salted. Overall, too much money, too much noise, not enough light and not conducive for a professional dinner. It's a bar, not a restaurant and should be promoted as such.
Good food. Entertainment was awesome. Great old fashions and wine list
Great food and service. Very quiet and comfortable setting for a business lunch.
Love the peach mango martini, the music, the ribeye,
Took a friend as a "thank you" gesture. Feservations were at 6.00 pm on a Saturday before the band and music started. Atmosphere was very nice and service was excellent.
Food was excellent.
The service wasn't that good and the food was barely ok. My steak was not cooked evenly or to order. I've heard that the Plano location is much better.
I used to come years ago quite a bit. The menu changed and for the price it’s not very good. The menu needs improvement. Service was excellent.
This was a very fun date night out! The $5 valet parking was great as the parking lot is not open for free parking (otherwise you would have a bit of a walk to the restaurant from other parking). With a reservation, seating was immediate and friendly. Our waiter staff was friendly and upbeat and very accommodating. We really enjoyed the live music aspect, we were seated near the stage but had asked for "semi-private" so they had removed a table from next to ours (perfect!). We specifically went in the middle of the week as we heard the music gets a more energetic as it gets closer to the weekend; the music was wonderful! Our food was cooked exactly as we asked - a very moist and delicious salmon for my wife and a perfectly seared medium-rare 7 oz steak for me. The wine selections were extensive and in a wide range of pricings.
Outstanding food. We went on a pre-theater dinner date and were very happy with everything we ordered. The service was very good as well. We were out of there before the live music started so can't comment on that, but I definitely want to go back.
Not my first time here but was disappointed at the present condition. The band was good, some clientele somewhat shabby and menu need a good chef. The sate sauce was horrible, bruschetta was more Chinese than Italian.....pork chops awful but the Brussel sprouts delicious!!!!
Needs a make over.
Our reservation was ready for us when we arrived a little early. The staff recognized our anniversary and gave us appropriate recognition. The entertainment was superb as the band played a nice variety of music with really good vocalist. I was sad to learn that this location would be closing in February 2018, but like the Phoenix a new facility is opening in Los Colinas. Service was great, food was good making for a wonderful evening to celebrate a 45th wedding anniversary. Great job!
Restaurant looks old and dated. Carpet was dirty and frayed at the edges. Salads were ok, but soup and cheese bread were lukewarm. For this to be located in the trendy Uptown area...very disappointing.
We had a blast dining and dancing! The band was awesome! We will be back.
Reserved for a Saturday night at 7 PM with special request of anniversary dinner. They were not busy at all when we walked and with tons of empty tables. I figured they were walking us to a nice cozy booth because of anniv. request and available tables. No, they offered a tight two top table in the middle of the room. We said how about outside, which was much nicer. Drinks were good. Sweet potatoes were good. Scallops were well cooked but dish had no kick and was rather tasteless. Wait staff was good but disappeared for long stretches. Musical entertainment didn't start until 8:30 which was really disappointing. When it was time for desert I figured they'd do something on the plate or at least comp it for anniversary. Nope. They only brought 1 spoon for us to pass back and forth. Parking is $5. No mention of anniversary or anything by the staff. Overrated and disappointed. We drove a good way to spend way to much $ on subpar meal.
Great venue. Great bands, great atmosphere.
Have been a visitor for many years. Still classy and elegant place. Good food and service. Great location.
Good professional or upscale crowd.
This was our first visit and we weren’t disappointed. The food was great ( appetizer could have been a bit more flavorful ) and the live music was awesome on 10/14. Service and ambiance of the place was great too. We’ll definitely return in the near future. Great job Sambuca!
Very expensive but had a nice live band. Food quality average.
Hip environment and great service. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite deliver. Fish was dry and shrimp over cooked and this from a restaurant proud of their seafood. However, scallops were cooked to perfection.
We came here with family from out of town. We were looking for a 7ish siting for 5. It was difficult since it was so last minute. We were lucky enough to find a 6:45pm at Sambuca. Everyone else of our usual haunts had 5pm or 10pm.
The atmosphere was fantastic. Our old standby Palamino recently closed and this feels like a fantastic replacement. I loved the layout. It felt cozy and comfortable.
Food: We had a mix of several entrees and 2 apps. We all loved our food. I had the Miso Seabass. Man was it fantastic. Super light and melt in your mouth.
Our server was a little too talkative but he was a fantastic server none the less. I think if you were a regular he would be less descriptive. We did mention we were new and he proceeded to give us a play by play of top 6 items.
We will be back for sure.
chicken and waffles...great! shrimp and grits...great! service, ambiance, price, all great!
This place was great! We came on a Sunday evening. The food was really good. We will definitely be back!
Loved it! This was our 4th visit. No tapas on the menu - they were now appetizers. I had the sea bass and it was fantastic.
Food was bad
Music wasn't great but fun
For large groups this is not the restaurant. The servers didn't communicate between each other therefore some of my guest dinner was wrong and the drinks were awful. It was my birthday and it was ruined.
All was good, but just not the "Wow" we have had many times before. Sambuca has always been my wife's favorite place to eat in Dallas. Always good entertainment and usually an exceptional meal. Food this time was just not the over the top greatness it has always been before.
Food was way too overpriced and not worth it. Steak, ahi tuna and seafood in pasta dish we're all over cooked. The bruschetta mix was very tangy--too much balsamic. I took my aunt here and was disappointed to find it to be a club ambiance than fine dining. The tables and chairs in front of the stage were all damaged. Our ticket was over $150. Service was great but I won't be back.
Shocking was how I would describe the experience at Sambuca. We have had dinner there multiple times and every other time it was fantastic. The appetizers were just ok, somewhat bland and the calamari was completely overdone. We had 5 people in our party, two ordered the Flat Iron steaks, both ordered medium rare. When the plates were delivered one was a flat iron, but it was well done, leather as a description comes to mind, the other, was a filet, it was medium to medium well. When we explained the issues with the two steaks, the server took the well done steak back to the kitchen and 15 minutes later brought out the new one that was cooked correctly, no apology, no offer to remove anything from bill, nothing. As to the filet, the waitress said the chef assured her that it was a flat iron. The person sitting next to me who raises and slaughters cattle (so somewhat familiar with cuts of meat) said not a chance that it was a flat iron, it was a filet. The waitress refused to acknowledge the mistake, nor take the steak back to the chef to confirm what kind of steak it was. It was just a sad experience when we were all hoping for a great meal.
