Sambuca - Dallas Uptown Ratings and Reviews
Not my first time here but was disappointed at the present condition. The band was good, some clientele somewhat shabby and menu need a good chef. The sate sauce was horrible, bruschetta was more Chinese than Italian.....pork chops awful but the Brussel sprouts delicious!!!!
Needs a make over.
Our reservation was ready for us when we arrived a little early. The staff recognized our anniversary and gave us appropriate recognition. The entertainment was superb as the band played a nice variety of music with really good vocalist. I was sad to learn that this location would be closing in February 2018, but like the Phoenix a new facility is opening in Los Colinas. Service was great, food was good making for a wonderful evening to celebrate a 45th wedding anniversary. Great job!
Reserved for a Saturday night at 7 PM with special request of anniversary dinner. They were not busy at all when we walked and with tons of empty tables. I figured they were walking us to a nice cozy booth because of anniv. request and available tables. No, they offered a tight two top table in the middle of the room. We said how about outside, which was much nicer. Drinks were good. Sweet potatoes were good. Scallops were well cooked but dish had no kick and was rather tasteless. Wait staff was good but disappeared for long stretches. Musical entertainment didn't start until 8:30 which was really disappointing. When it was time for desert I figured they'd do something on the plate or at least comp it for anniversary. Nope. They only brought 1 spoon for us to pass back and forth. Parking is $5. No mention of anniversary or anything by the staff. Overrated and disappointed. We drove a good way to spend way to much $ on subpar meal.
This was our first visit and we weren’t disappointed. The food was great ( appetizer could have been a bit more flavorful ) and the live music was awesome on 10/14. Service and ambiance of the place was great too. We’ll definitely return in the near future. Great job Sambuca!
We came here with family from out of town. We were looking for a 7ish siting for 5. It was difficult since it was so last minute. We were lucky enough to find a 6:45pm at Sambuca. Everyone else of our usual haunts had 5pm or 10pm.
The atmosphere was fantastic. Our old standby Palamino recently closed and this feels like a fantastic replacement. I loved the layout. It felt cozy and comfortable.
Food: We had a mix of several entrees and 2 apps. We all loved our food. I had the Miso Seabass. Man was it fantastic. Super light and melt in your mouth.
Our server was a little too talkative but he was a fantastic server none the less. I think if you were a regular he would be less descriptive. We did mention we were new and he proceeded to give us a play by play of top 6 items.
We will be back for sure.
All was good, but just not the "Wow" we have had many times before. Sambuca has always been my wife's favorite place to eat in Dallas. Always good entertainment and usually an exceptional meal. Food this time was just not the over the top greatness it has always been before.
Food was way too overpriced and not worth it. Steak, ahi tuna and seafood in pasta dish we're all over cooked. The bruschetta mix was very tangy--too much balsamic. I took my aunt here and was disappointed to find it to be a club ambiance than fine dining. The tables and chairs in front of the stage were all damaged. Our ticket was over $150. Service was great but I won't be back.
Shocking was how I would describe the experience at Sambuca. We have had dinner there multiple times and every other time it was fantastic. The appetizers were just ok, somewhat bland and the calamari was completely overdone. We had 5 people in our party, two ordered the Flat Iron steaks, both ordered medium rare. When the plates were delivered one was a flat iron, but it was well done, leather as a description comes to mind, the other, was a filet, it was medium to medium well. When we explained the issues with the two steaks, the server took the well done steak back to the kitchen and 15 minutes later brought out the new one that was cooked correctly, no apology, no offer to remove anything from bill, nothing. As to the filet, the waitress said the chef assured her that it was a flat iron. The person sitting next to me who raises and slaughters cattle (so somewhat familiar with cuts of meat) said not a chance that it was a flat iron, it was a filet. The waitress refused to acknowledge the mistake, nor take the steak back to the chef to confirm what kind of steak it was. It was just a sad experience when we were all hoping for a great meal.
We went on a Sunday evening, and there were not many people there, which was nice. We like it quiet. The server was very professional and attentive the entire time. The decor is a bit dated. It's not bad, in fact, it's a cool and unique looking spot, but the upholstery is ripped from wear and things like that.
As far as the food, everything tasted great. But one thing that disappointed us was on the menu they have an item called "Prosciutto Mac and Cheese". We are big fans of a good prosciutto, so we had to try that. So we ordered it. It came, we looked at it and asked, "Where's the prosciutto?" The server said it's in there, but looks minimal, I'll get you some extra. So he brought us back a little side of it. It was crumbled bacon. They're calling bacon prosciutto people. It just kinda cheapened the whole experience for us after that.
Great time at Sambuca - Dallas Uptown!
Just the ambiance I was seeking to celebrate my birthday with friends! My only drawback on the food was the Mac-n-cheese; all other apps, entree's and deserts were awesome! The band rocked, the music was diverse. My crew and I sang, danced and had a great time! I will be back soon~
They burned the Brussel sprouts. My boy friend asked twice for sparkling water, until he spoke it in Spanish to the buss boy. His steak was also overdone. Finally at the end the server asked if we wanted any deserts. I said did you check open table. The manager dressed in a chef's coat and the server brought a very small pre-made cheese cake which Happy Birthday written and a candle..Over my boyfriend and I had a bad experience for dinner and his birthday!
Our food was undercooked, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. It was too dark and too loud. After giving us our food, our waiter disappeared for about 20 minutes. We had to ask another server for our check. FAR too expensive for the subpar food. If I'm paying those prices, I expect the food and service to at least be good. Neither of them were.
We went to dinner with some friends on a Saturday night. Our reservation was for 7:00pm. Noise level was great to visit with our friends. Live music started at 8:30 just in time for desert. Food was good except for the pork chop that came over done and dry. Good place for dates if you want dinner and dancing.
This place is perfect if you want to do a little drinking and dancing. At times I found it difficult to even hear my wife sitting directly across from me. It was just a night out for us visiting Dallas conversation about relocating. The food was mediocre. However I would say they did an exquisite job on cooking my 10oz. steak medium rare it was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately that was the only food item that was.
I recently hosted a bachelorette party for my best friend. I chose Sambuca because I knew it would be exciting. I wasn't disappointed. Brett was our waiter and he is the absolute best! I highly recommend this place for dates, any special occasion or just for a great night with friends.
