Live Brazilian Music (Samba) Brunch Sundays

I chose Samba Kitchen to celebrate my birthday... what a disappointment. I purposely chose this place for the live samba music during brunch and turns out they only provide live music on Sundays. The brunch menu was very limited and very basic. No wow factor there. My girlfriend and I were so upset we actually went in search of another brunch spot to eat all over again! I can only think of one word to describe our experience - basic.
Great food and pleasant service
Outstanding food in a non-pretentious, friendly restaurant. Wished we lived in NYC so we could go back and back.
Nothing amazing. The Brazilian cheese bread was undercooked, I could taste the yucca flour in my mouth, and the moqueca was a very small portion for the price. Drinks were ok. Service was ok. It is very loud. Will not come back.
I've known the owner since his bus boy days at Ipanema over 13 years ago, and I'm happy he opened his own restaurant about 3 years ago.
What many people might not know is that he went into a partnership with the former (and original) chef from Ipanema which lends itself to a fantastic menu, and one you can rely on being of the best quality.
Great food, great service, and I've taken friends and family here for years.
Their Sunday brunch is to DIE FOR, and the live Brazilian music really sets this place apart from all the others on 46th Street/Little Brazil.
Pretty authentic Brazilian. The Mocequa was spot on and my picky teenage dinner guest "loved" the yucca fries.
Had an exceptional lunch here with a friend who was visiting town. The food was wonderful. The service was warm and friendly. Lunch crowd was small so it was very quiet.
Server was great and very attentive. One of the diners has major food allergies and the waitress made sure she had all basis covered.
Met with friends and family before a show. We all got something different and every meal was Great!! Service was great and fast. We highly recommend!!
Food was really good
We went to Samba before a play it was perfect. The waitress was quick and recomended great tapas for us to try. It was a great introduction to Brazilian food for us. We will go back!
Food and drinks were great. I will definitely go back.
The food was flavorful and well cook. The cheese bread was fantastic. Just for my personal preference since I am not used heavy salt, just a touch saltier than I prefer. Service was great and nice ambience.
I’ve known the owner since his time with Ipanema on 46th Street; the food is always delicious and consistent, and the service is flawless.
Birthday celebration - great food and drinks
One of my families favorite places, we go every year for my brothers birthday! Wonderful, food; Friendly staff!
My wife and I simply love Samba Kitchen. We usually make it one of stops for dinner during our semi-annual trips to NYC. Over the past 2 years we have probably been a half dozen times, and have yet to be disappointed in any part of our experience. Make sure you try one of their caipirinhas.
Amazing food, great drinks, and cool atmosphere!
What an awesome find! We wanted to try something different before our theater show and reviews looked good. Everyone tried something different and no one was disappointed! Great presentation and flavors that you wouldn't think would work were incredible. So glad we found Samba Kitchen
We went with high expectations from most trip advisor reviews on a Wednesday evening with a 7:30pm reservation for a party of 4. Service was slow and meat was way overdone, 3 of 4 ordered medium steak dishes and 1 ordered medium rare and all came out well done. Meat was very chewy and dry. Waitress offered to remake, but wait was so long to get food, we opted not to wait for a remake. They did give us free dessert and coffee or expresso for the mistake, however I wouldn’t go there again. It appeared they only had one waitress to cover the entire room. It was very crowded, however very disappointing!
The owners are personable and the food was great. I recommend it.
We went to Samaba Kitchen after an early show for dinner. The food was very good. There was 4 of us and we each got something different and everything was great. It is a casual atmosphere which is what I like. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I will go again the next time I am in the city.
Amazing food! However, noise level was extreme, gave up on conversation.
The food was extremely bland. The noise level was terrible. Couldn’t hear my husband across the table never mind my daughter at the far end. Unfortunately disappointed especially after reading good online reviews.
Great and friendly server, nice selection of food and cocktails.
Food was great, great evening
