Seasoned tender lamb
Decadent Russian dumplings filled with our signature lamb and beef blend swimming in a savory vegetable stock
One of our favorite restaurants. The manager is just wonderful. Excellent customer service.
Great food will go back again.
Wonderful food, good service, relaxed atmosphere. Great way to spend a night out.
Food was amazing and the staff were pleasant. My new favorite place!!
Great food and tea! I recommend the samosa and the green tea!
Great service, ambiance, and entertainment!
If your a foodie, this is a must try! Plov, lamb chops, apps(samsa, manti), desserts(napoleon, medovik) all insanely good! I’ve had a lot of cultural cuisine experiences and Samarkand is officially one of the best.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun.
Samarkand never disappoints. Short ribs were tasty and tender. Pierogies with cherries were outstanding as was the service. My teenager was totally impressed. Will be back!
Very nice byob and reasonably priced. The lamb dish I had was very good.
WOW - this CANNOT get more authentic. Our server Liza was wonderful. Their menu is CRAZY - so many amazing options. It’s almost a bit overwhelming. Luckily, Liza is awesome and was full of recommendations. We started with a cheese board and some bread. All fantastic. The cheeses came with a sort of pita bread and some craisins, and it was all drizzled with honey. I had a Lyula Kebab and a Beef Kebab, as well as a Lagman soup. The kebabs were great, but I could’ve eaten an entire pot of the soup honestly. Also got a side of wok fried mushrooms. Very good and very fresh. My friends got the Braised Beef and Mushrooms, a Burrata Arugula Salad, and an Ugro Oshi soup. It all looked phenomenal and they loved it. The only odd thing is that this restaurant does not server alcohol. Liza even offered for us to go next door to the grocery store and get a bottle of wine or something to enjoy with our meal. Truthfully, although we didn’t feel like going to the store for this, that was one of my favorite features of this place haha! I am not from the area but my friends are and they said they would definitely go back. I certainly will as well when I’m in town. It was almost as though we were in their home being served a home-cooked meal. I absolutely LOVE that.
Everything was DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend trying this restaurant when in the area!
Service. and food were very good! We are longtime customers and continue to not be disappointed.
I found this hidden oasis about 15 miles away from my home. I must admit I had never heard of this restaurant let alone it's food or country of origin. When we arrived we were greeted by the host Richard and welcomed as if we were family. Our server realized it was our first time and recommended some great dishes. We ordered more than we should of but so many things sounded so great that we wanted to try. The food was great. Make sure you leave room for their wonderful deserts. It may have been our first time but it certainly won't be our last as we plan to come back often.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend the lamb fat kebab!
Overall it was great experience!
The staff was very polite and helpful, since it was the first time eating this type of cuisine. I recommend trying several of the hot appetizers they are great! The breads are also fantastic. We took some home. All food is fresh prepared so you need to plan you meal with your servers help if you don't want to wait to look between courses. But that is just, FRESH PREPARED is well worth the wait!
While the food was pretty tasty and the server was kind, we were quite disappointed when our bill included a 10% service charge for ordering over $100 of food. This seemed quite sketchy to us as no additional explanation was given. Seemed like a great place if you are a usual or know what you want, but if it’s your first visit there was no help figuring out what and how much to order. We do not plan to return.
Our dinner was excellent. The steak had great flavor with a perfect hint of charcoal and done a perfect medium rare. The staff was very friendly and gave excellent service, from waitress to manager. All in all a great experience.
Excellent food and attentive waiter staff...worth the visit...we will be back
Another great experience!
The food was amazing! Staff was tentative. Only complaint would be that I smelled cigarette smoke a couple times throughout our meal so could only assume there was a staff member taking smoke breaks close to a door somewhere. I would ask to sit further away from any doors in the future but will definitely be going back.
Overall I was very happy with service and food. I was not a huge fan of the appetizers but the main food was absolutely delicious. I plan on going back there again for sure.
First time and food was FANTASTIC! Pierogies to start, and kebabs for our meal. We recommend the roulettes, beef and lyula kebabs, the red sauce is superb. We shall be back!
Very clean and nice resturant. Everything is made on site and all the kabobs are mouth watering.
Great food and very courteous service.
Food was excellent! Good service!
Billed as an Uzbekistani Steakhouse, there are enough menu items for everyone. Everything was very good, salads, soups (really good soups) and entrees. The service was really good. Entire staff was friendly, welcoming and very attentive. I had some sort of Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, veggie soup that was great. I also had the rib steak which was cooked perfectly. Something for everyone. Highly recommend trying this place.
Great food. We had a vegetarian dinner, and there were enough delicious choices to keep us quite happy.
Tasty food and great atmosphere. Will return
Side salad were only onions! I have tried others where they give mix of green too. Overall it was good.
This was our first time dining at Samarkand Steak House. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the variety of traditional Uzbek, Middle Eastern, and Asian foods offered on the menu. The staff was friendly and attentive.
We purposely avoided ordering steak as we wanted to try something different. Although we had never eaten Uzbek food, we tried what the menu described as traditional Uzbek foods (Samsa, Uzbek Lamb, Plov Samarkand, & Ugro Oshi soup), and they were very good, well cooked and flavorful.
We plan to return again in a few weeks to try additional ethnic menu items we are unfamiliar with and we will provide our opinion again.
I would strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to try something new and different. Based on the how we liked things we never tried before, I would expect the steak house menu items would also be quite good to excellent.
DO NOT Go Here. The worst service imaginable. It took 40 minutes to get our water glasses refilled. Ruined my birthday.
The host at the door who seemed to be the manager was excellent and valued us and our experience there and wanted to make everything right.. I can’t say the same for our waitress she need some Chick-fil-A training. Seriously.
Thanks variance with this restaurant was great the food was good the waitress was great. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant again
Samarkand has been a great find, our now "go to" restaurant.
The menu is very diverse and happens to be everything that we like to eat.
We recently brought friends there and they couldn't stop raving. Our lady friend
has a poor appetite. She not only finished her entre but even had desert. She has never orders desert! Every time we've been there, this being our third time, we walk away fully satisfied. Reasonable price and also a BYOB.
Staff is always pleasant and attentive. Always concerned with the diner’s satisfaction. Food is delicious.
Delicious and urbane restaurant featuring Russian cuisine from many parts of Russia.
Service was spot on and portions great. We are even enjoying a left over meal.
All the food arrived cold. The meat was too well done and cold as well as the shrimp. Very disappointing for a first time visit. We will not return.
