Sam Snead's Oak Grill & Tavern
There were four of us dining and ALL meals were great! We have found this to be a very reliable and consistent restaurant. Staff is always the best
Always a great experience when my husband and I dine. Great atmosphere and service; our favorite date night spot!
I had the lamb shank. It was de-lish-us! My husband had prime rib and it was great, too, he said. Service was great. First time back with COVID-19 protocols, which kind of cramps the atmosphere, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Everything was very good, considering Covid-19
We were seated outside and it was Father's Day weekend so they had a tough road to follow. Waitress was very good, food was good. Only thing I did not like -- Loud music and flies. The flies do come from us choosing to eat outside, and the music is my personal choice. Therefore my rating is 4stars.
First time out with friends in 3 months. Social distancing strongly observed, tables and chairs were wiped down after guests left. Very attentive staff, but not intrusive.
Awesome as always!
One of a very few fine dining restaurants in Pooler. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is pleasant. This time, the service was very slow, and the restaurant seemed a bit less than sparkling clean. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.
Each year we stop in at Sam Snead on our way to Florida and then back to Canada, love the restaurant, food is awesome. Service was so so this time, took the manager to come and clear our app plates away as our server was not doing it.
Always great food, excellent service.
We were a party of 5 with reservations and we couldn't have been happier. The food was amazing, the service was perfect and we will definitely go back!!
The blackened chicken alfredo was delicious!
I used OpenTable to make a 6:30P reservation. It still took 15 minutes to be seated after arrival. And, while it was a busy Saturday night, it took an hour to get our food after being seated. All three dishes were over-cooked. They were flavorful, but not what I expected from a "high-end" restaurant. The ambiance was not bad, but too dark to read the menu. Not a "bad" experience, but not worth returning for a $100+ ticket!
One of the best Prime Ribs I've ever had. We always make this a destination when we are on our way South or back North.
Felicia was amazing taking care of my coworker and her friend. I highly recommend her and will be basking for her when I return. Thank you Snead’s for an amazing time!
Good location, easy to access off of I-95 in Pooler. Nice atmosphere, sometimes the noise level is too high. Food always good. Staff friendly and attentive. Sam Snead is a step up from a Logan's or a Long Horn's experience.
Great meal as always. Our favorite place to dine traveling south and then back north.
This is the second time my wife and I have ate here. It was just as amazing as it was a year ago. With just our second visit, this has easily become a go to spot. The food and environment is outstanding. I would just recommend getting a reservation ahead of time. If not, you could be waiting awhile, not due to slow service but because everyone wants to enjoy the food and environment. Cant go wrong here!!!!
Food is not as good as it used to be but great service. Little overpriced for certain foods.
Near the Savannah Airport, this is a regular stop for us on the way from New York south. The menu is varied with a good and affordable wine list, and includes steaks, chops, seafood, sandwiches and salads. Excellent and friendly service, reservations which were honored right on time, and an easy walk back to the hotel. I recommend Sam Snead’s very highly and look forward to many returns.
As usual food was good, service really, really slow. Even took 15 minutes to get our dessert after we ordered.
On our travel South we always stop at this restaurant in Savanna and have never been disappointed. Our salads were crisp and cold, the beef tender, the salmon fresh and the apple pie a nice surprise.
Love the location within walking distance of many hotels off of I95. Service would have gotten 4 stars if our meals had come out of the kitchen hot. It was obvious they sat out in kitchen until they made their way to our table. Other than that the steaks and Prime Rib was very good.
We were disappointed that the restaurant staff ignored our reservation information which specifically stated we were celebrating our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. When the waitress finally brought our bill for payment, we asked her what they normally did for an anniversary, and she detailed a list of things. When we pointed out that our reservation clearly stated that we were down from Atlanta and celebrating our Anniversary, she said the Hostess failed to note the information. The waitress said since no one told her, they were not going to do anything for us!
Lunch was great
We tried the Prime Rib Flatbread, which was very good, and the Tuna Sashimi, which was just okay. The house salad was also really good. I thought the prices were fair for what we received.
Good service. Gigantic portions. Food is just average
As a small company with only a few employees, it was nice to be able to gather in the quiet atmosphere of Sam Snead's. The food was phenomenal and so was the service.
Sam's always has consistently great food. Over the past six months I have had dinner more that 20 times so I know the repetitive nature of good food & service. Highly recommended!
Fish special of grouper was over cooked and served in a pile on the plate. Grouper tasted rubbery and was served with rice and asparagus. This meal was overpriced at $35. Server was friendly but didn’t offer rolls and didn’t refill water without being asked.
This place has it all, and it is just off the highway. The food is always excellent as is the service. Its old fashioned décor with dark wood panelling and booths keeps the ambience cozy and inviting. We always look forward to the next time.
Excellent food and service. You will not be disappointed. It's also a great location to many hotels.
Close to a number of hotels near the Savannah Airport and a great option to all of the chain eateries. I was there on the early side, 5:30pm so no wait but I was not alone, a number of tables had guests. Service was attentive, a big menu and my meal was excellent. I thought the prices were fair for what what I ordered. The only suggestion was that the lighting was a little dim for those of us with aging eyes, otherwise a wonderful find.
Food is consistently good. Sometimes the service is slow especially when you first arrive. We visited during a cold snap and it was very cold in the restaurant. This spoiled the evening.
This is always our go to restaurant for big celebrations and quiet, romantic dinners. The place exudes class and ambiance. The staff is excellent and times everything perfectly for your pace. It is so nice to have a quality restaurant right here in the Pooler area.
My wife and I both had the 7 oz barrel cut filet mignon with grilled green beans and red skin mashed potatoes. It was the best filet we have ever had.we will definitely be going back for special occasion meals such as Thanksgiving or even Christmas if it's open. Hopefully it will. We love this place
Erica did a great job serving our table. All services were outstanding
Our food came out at the same time as our salad. We felt very rushed. The food was not timed well at all. We were very disappointed based off the ratings and other reviews. Will not go again.
Good food choices. Comfortable ambience. Nice scotch pour!
Waiter was great, drinks, I thought a little on the SHORT pour...Tuna appetizer good, Burger done perfectly, Flat Bread over cooked.
On our way to Florida from NY, always stop here, never been disappointed
