Great restaurant for French bistro food. Check out the mussels for a light meal, but if you're ready for a big meal, get the cassoulet. It's French comfort food and it never disappoints.
A truly great restaurant !!! Good food, great service. A happy environment!
Kevin was a great server. The food was very, very good. I would recommend not having the onions on the omelette. Unless you really love having a lot of onions!
My entre came with a bowl of greens. Unfortunately they were not fresh - alot of slimy spoiled leaves intermixed. I asked for a fresher salad and it was brought immediately. It too was just ok -
Great food, great service
Had a very poor experience and would not recommend
Casual French brasserie ambience with a nice diverse menu and a good selection of wine or beer to go with it. The friendly, attentive service makes you feel welcome and well taken care of.
Great night. Good food and great service as usual.
We usually like Salut but would not go back on a holiday like New Years Eve. They could not have gotten our table of 6 out of the restaurant fast enough. I can understand needing to turn tables on a busy evening but there were several open tables.
Our previous visits to Salut have been a good dining experience. However our most recent visit left a bad taste in our mouths. I ordered the Walleye en Papillote. It can served on a soggy bed of green beans that resulted in a sloppy mess. Another in our party ordered the Petite Bouillabaisse. It was devoid of the advertised mussels and was extremely tasteless. Overpriced, poor quality food. Will not return.
We were welcomed and seated promptly. The server was excellent and fun to talk with. The drinks we ordered were very good. The food selection is great and our food was very good.
Always good. A 'go to' reliable.
Great after theatre stop or just a night out with friends. Food is very good. The staff is very i tune to your needs I think it’s a plus that they don’t rush you so you can visit over a nice meal
Wonderful as always. Duck, chicken and cherry martini!
It was excellent. The food and service were spot on. One of our favorite places.
When busy this play is very loud. But the food and waitstaff were real good!
We had a great dinner! The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Salut is a great place for a family dinner because everyone can find something they will enjoy on the menu.
The food was amazing, this is now my number one restaurant in the city. My roast half chicken, was tender and flavorful. Everyone at my table raved about the food. Service was friendly and prompt.
I love Salut and always go to the one in Edina, we went to St PAUL location and were sorely disappointed. I ordered my usual salmon and Brussels sprouts, the salmon was cooked too well done not medium how salmon should be and my brussel sprouts were burnt and dried out. Maybe this was a rare occurrence at this location, I would go again and give them another chance for sure
We always enjoy Salut. Great service, good food and a comfortable atmosphere.
The meal was great. The service was timely, and the price was fair. We will be there again.
Great brunch! Many option, a variety of Benedicts. Delicious breads and croissants. What’s not to like
Been dining there 3/4 times per year since 2011. New items on the current menu. The prices have exploded. The least expensive bottle of wine is $42 ($9 at Trader Joes). Somebody might remind them that they are NOT the St Clair Grill or Kincades. The food is good but not extraordinary in any way.
A bit pricey and the pasta dish I had was not very flavorful. I’d try going again choking something different.
The wait staff was friendly, charming and attentive. A wonderful visit!!!
We chose Salut for my husbands birthday dinner in part because we had a gift card for the Parasole restaurants. We have 4 kids and it’s hard to please everyone, but the menu offered wonderful choices and the food was delicious. Our sever was fun, attentive and his suggestions were spot on. We had a wonderful experience!
Great food and wine while shopping on Grand Ave. Friendly service today as well.
Disappointed in the fact they have discontinued their complementary bread with the crock of flaked salt
butter. A simple draw but very effective!
Going to concert @ the Excel.
Busy with large groups for the holidays. Server was good. Steak was not. Dry, mealy, cold. Clearly not their jam. Should have gone with my gut and tried the seafood.
We had dinner at Salut Friday night, December 7. Our wait person was wonderful. She was very personable as well as being efficient and professional.in addition, she was knowledgeable and answered our questions about the menu. We hope to see her again.
Great food and great service
Really enjoyed our server, had a great bottle of red wine from Bourdeux. All of us raved about our dishes. I was impressed that they could make my steak sandwich medium rare. Really impressed
The three of us were not happy with our meals. Which is the first time at Salut this has happened.
The food itself was great but the service was very slow. Also, please be careful of the parking lot. We parked in their parking lot and our car window was broken and they stole items. The restaurant doesn’t have cameras of the parking lot. It’s sucks because it was our first time there, due to the fact that that happens often will probably will never go back to this location.
I've enjoyed this place for parties before, but tonight they were just off, completely off. We were shown to a wrong table, left standing in the middle of a crowded dining room, then directed to chairs next to the busy entrance to wait for our table to be readied. (I was on time for my reservation). We waited in the bar; they gave us frites to cheer me up. Not the best I've had there-hot, but limp. One dining partner ordered fries later, with dinner. They were similarly unsatisfying. (And that diner owned restaurants, and KNOWS fries). It was 1:15 after our reservation before I got to order, and to ask for a glass of wine (bar drink was long empty). And another half hour before our food arrived. More than one nearby table seated after us had finished their meals before we were served. We were the last diners in the room , and the staff was obviously ready for us to leave. I don't think we were obnoxious, or anything that merited being unwelcome, but I sure felt uneelcome. Food was fine, mussels' broth a bit salty, desserts quite nice. Bathroom was clean and quiet, though. Overall: inattentive service, noisy, decent food, disappointing evening.
I typically take my husband to Meritage for his birthday but our kids like Salut and at this price point I could take everyone out to Salut. Unfortunately timing of food was really off. We had just received appetizer and entrees arrived. Those then sat under heat lamp so not great when they were delivered. Waiter seemed to think we were some kind of bumpkins but manager tried to rectify the situation. We have been to this restaurant a lot and have had good experiences but unfortunately for my husband’s birthday it was not great and still 350 dollar bill. We will probably try again but service and food at Meritage is impeccable so celebrations will be there.
We were looking for a nice place to take grandma to brunch - something not too formal but really tasty. The food was delicious - even the golden beet soup which even my skeptical husband and my teenage boy liked. The service was generally quite good. Both grandma and my husband have hearing issues so we prefer quiet restaurants. The noise level wasn't bad though at 12:45 on a Sunday afternoon.
Loved our waitress (Jen). The mussels were small but there were plenty of them. The broth was tasty and the toast was very good. I liked the house cabernet.
Wonderful spot for the mothers of bride and groom, bride and wedding party after dress shopping!
