The food and service was excellent. The burgers are the best!
Some of the very, very finest food in Dallas......
I have actually been to Salum the past 2 days for lunch. Monday was a business luncheon, and Tuesday was a Birthday lunch. The food is always wonderful, and the staff is amazing!
Maybe I had too high of an expectation. I always get excited when a chef is so passionate about the restaurant that he/she is everywhere. Most of the food was excellent...oysters, beef tenderloin, risotto...all excellent for me. With this said, it took forever to get bread, the salad was underdressed, the beef was not cooked to me guests request and my pork chop was mediocre. A lot of potential; the hype did not live up to realty, but I would get it another chance!
Salum is amazing. Everything about it is consistent. Abraham does an amazing job with the menu and the staff. His cuisine is refined, yet not over the top. He was hosting the last time we dined there. You want to go back again and again to his restaurant. You truly feel like part of the family in his restaurant. I highly recommend Salum.
Such an amazing restaurant, sorry it has taken so long to go! The food was excellent! And really loved the atmosphere, the only negative was it just hard to hear our conversation due to the noise level, but that was because every table was occupied! Which is good ! Highly recommend!
The ambience/decorating is top notch! Service was very attentive without being obtrusive, food was very good..., we been here once before but will definitely return with our out-of-town guest over the summer.
All the food was great especially the lamb chops and mussels. The owner went around greeting customers very warmly. Dish prices were very reasonably priced. Fine dining restaurants in Dallas typically have lamb chops priced $42-$48 a la carte. Salum had them for $38 with sides.
I have heard about this place for years and am very happy I worked it into my rotation of restaurants.
It is all things amazing but most notably, CONSISTENT! A gem of gems from quisine to service to ambiance. There are more elaborate and exotic options, but its consistency is unparalleled of anywhere in the world I have been outside of The Nomad and Eleven Madison Park (#1 in the world)!
At this price point, the food and service should be impeccable. Unfortunately, they were not.
My wife and I ordered the mussels appetizer, rack of lamb entree, and beef tenderloin entree. The mussels were very tasty, and we had high hopes for the rest of the meal. However, due to an unexplained debacle in the kitchen, we waited nearly 40 minutes for our entrees. After 40 minutes, you begin digesting. The food you were looking forward to starts to lose its appeal and you become more and more annoyed as you watch food arrive at other tables. When the entrees finally arrived, the cook on the rack of lamb was wrong. I ordered mid-rare and it was medium. Had to send it back and it came back WRONG AGAIN. This time it was nearly raw. I had visions of Gordon Ramsey yelling at amateur cooks on prime time TV. The host and server were apologetic, but still charged us for the entree that was twice sent back to the kitchen. I was amazed it was not comped. The restaurant did provide complimentary deserts, but I had hoped for a bit more in light of the inconvenience. Not sure I'd return. Too many good dining options in Dallas.
Larry and the staff did an outstanding job, as usual.
We’ll def be back again highly recommend Salum as often as possible.
Great service, great food, quiet atmosphere, easy to have a conversation even with a larger group of people.
Our dinner was excellent and the service was outstanding!
Great restaurant with a terrific menu and wonderful service. We went with friends on a Saturday evening (which meant free valet parking and a full restaurant) and early on a Wednesday evening with friends (no valet required and plenty of available seating). Both visits were excellent!
A friends birthday who was visiting
It had been a few years since we dined at SALUM and we won't wait very long until we return. We were seated immediately and our service began. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine list and all the menu items. She was very attentive, but allowed us to have our conversation without interrupting. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Very fresh and full of flavor. The ambience was pleasant and lively. Our overall experience was very satisfactory.
Salum is one of my favorites, food is always fresh and prepared so well.
The four of us had a wonderful birthday celebration... rabbit, mussels, scallops and lamb... cockatils & champagne all followed by creme brule. Fabulous food & service - Rachel handled our every request with such elegance. We'll be back!
Perfection from beginning to end. The service is exceptional, the food is among the best in Dallas and the atmosphere is superb. Highly recommend for both lunch and dinner. Chef driven dishes with a creative flare but absolutely delicious!
Excellent food and service.
Very loud. We all had difficulty hearing one another.
Love this restaurant. Outstanding service, delicious food, and creative menu. A must-hit if you’re in Dallas!
Wonderful place. Fabulous food
Service was top notch. Our waiter was outstanding. Wine list was good. The food however was forgettable. The best dish were the mussels but it's hard to mess up mussels in a wine and butter sauce. Main courses were disappointing, including the special which was oxtail tortellini. Pasta tasted like it was frozen or had been microwaved, very rubbery. This was a last minute choice that was regretful. There was a reason there was availability on a Friday night.
Everything about Salum is both considered and considerate. Staff are knowledgeable and interested in guest experience. You cannot go wrong when making the decision to eat at Salum!
Food and service are outstanding. A great spot for reasonably priced business lunch and for conversation.
There were four of us for a celebratory lunch. The menu met everyone's needs and our waitperson was very knowledgeable. Everyone's meal was perfect and they enjoyed it. Had a great visit by Abraham. I loved my Smoked Salmon Egg Salad. We had three desserts and Abraham was able to offer a great suggestion for one of the diners that had milk and nut allergies. Fun was had by all. This was three of the four first time and they are definitely coming back.
Never a disappointment. Great food. I have never had a bad meal here. Always A+++. This is a quiet and convenient place to get amazing food.
Excellent food and service with elegant presentation. Owner/chef Abraham Salum walks the floor checking with patrons on their satisfaction with the food while overseeing the kitchen, which is visible from the restaurant floor.
Excellent food and service as always. We enjoy the creative menu. Mussels are the best in town!
The food as usual was delicious, and we had the nicest wait person.
Food and service (from Maria) were excellent! (Gave her a 25% tip.)
We visited for a co-worker’s birthday. Very nice staff, great food and value. I will definitely return.
Fantastic lunch- outstanding service.
Every bite was wonderful. The best lamb chops I’ve had in years!!! Service was superb. Everything was pretty much perfection. Thank you to Abraham and the whole staff
Service was attentive and friendly. The owner stopped by to chat. My Pate’ starter was delicious and plenty for 4 people. My entree’ of handmade pasta fettuccine with shrimp with lemon & arugula pesto was heavy handed with garlic & needed more lemon zing. Dessert was Devine, Coffee Creme Brûlée with raspberries. I will go again as the menu did have interesting choices.
We went to Salum’s to celebrate my sister’s birthday and let me tell you this is the place to go for any special occasion! The food was amazing and the waiter was attentive but not annoying, they have a small menu that’s easy on the eyes in order to select your entree faster, but even then you find yourself trying to decide what savory food you want, the wait was a little longer than usual restaurants but well worth it and filling. Overall I will be coming back for more!
Nice neighborhood feel but food is very good too. Reasonable prices for authentic continental classics. Lamb chops were delicious and the lobster (wife) was great! Or so I was told.
Overall service was solid. Mixed drink offerings were interesting and well done. Wine list is limited, but bottles selected were excellent. 4 different appetizers chosen and all were very good. All four of us had the caprese salad offering and unfortunately it was served WAY too cold and flavors were muted. Beef Wellington was a different style, but was truly outstanding. Scallop and lobster entrees were innovative and enjoyable, but the barramundi was unfortunately fishy and fairly disappointing. The chocolate cake dessert was very good, but the often challenging bread pudding offering was sadly doughy/dense though the flavors were attractive. Had not been in a while and am pondering strength of my interest in returning soon. The establishment has an excellent reputation and has been prospered for a very long time in a city that challenges restaurants to survive. It just seems to possibly need a little "refreshing/resetting".
