Salum Restaurant
Great service. Fantastic food. Drum was perfect and beef tenderloin was great.
A birthday celebration brought us to Salum. I love this place. Relatively small dining room. Relatively small menu (seasonal) make this place the gem that it is. Located in a small strip mall on the SE corner of Cole and Fitzhugh, surrounded by other restaurants. Menu had a couple of chicken items, lobster, two beef, one rack of lamb (delicious), one fish, one shellfish and one pasta, if my memory is correct. Service is stop on. Attentive, yet, not rushing us. Wine list has many good choices, several by the glass. Did I mention I love this place?
Always spot on , impeccable service, and delicious food!
I don’t know about making it at least 50 characters.....
My friend and I selected Salum, to celebrate her birthday, because we knew what to expect ...... no need to always try new places for our dining.
The wonderful expectations began when we arrived for our reservation......food, wine, service, atmosphere all an “A”. Thank you all so much.

Excellent birthday dinner with impeccable service!
As visitors to Dallas every 3 to 6 months from out-of-state, we try to visit (or revisit) highly rated restaurants for dinner each time. We probably dined at Salum 8 - 10 years ago and were very impressed; but it took meeting some other non-Dallasite friends for the weekend plus seeing it appear on Open Table's "Top 100 in the USA in 2018" list to persuade us to return. We should have done so much sooner. The service was outstanding.; our waiter was helpful in making both food and wine recommendations. Everything was delicious: the tomato-basil bisque, the house salad, the redfish, scallops and lobster all got rave reviews from our guests and ourselves. The crowning glories were the bread pudding -- "best ever" (per my wife) -- and the brownie as dessert choices. The decor is classy without being stuffy, and the noise level only moderate. We'll definitely not wait many years to return.
My visit was the last night that the January menu was to be served. We both had the Scallops, one plate was blackened (like on the menu) and the other did not have blackening powder on them (by special request). The scallops were cooked properly, and both plates were extremely flavorful. The dessert was shared, it was a spiced cake with pineapple, walnuts, with a cream cheese frosting and a bourbon apple sauce. DELICIOUS!!
Overall the meal was a joy to eat!
Like usual, I look forward to what Chef Abraham and Salum have to offer for the month of February!
Never had a bad meal at Salum. This go around I had the scallops on a bed of corn hash and it was terrific. My wife had the Beef Wellington, which was exceptional. The service was very attentive and the atmosphere makes for a very pleasant dining experience. try this place, you wont regret!
Start to finish, Salum is just lovely. Abraham is the consummate hospitality genius, from excellent food to thoughtful service and serene environment. We loved the pate, fried green tomatoes with crab meat, roasted vegetables with burrata, and a perfect bottle of French Sauvignon blanc.
Sublime! Ran and Jan
The menu and quality of food was fantastic! I had the beef wellington and it was unlike any other I have had as it was a form of deconstructed Welly with a perfectly cooked filet and a thin pastry containing pâté de foie gras and a duxelles of mushrooms neatly setting on top. My wife seafood dish was also excellent; we actually swapped our dinner half way through to get the full enjoyment of the meal. The executive chef and owner visited our table kindly answered our questions. A wonderful date night for my wife and I. Thank you!
Servie excellent
My Paella was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!!
it was the size of an easy bake oven pan and average taste at best.
Grapevine wrapped salmon was bland
The mussels we had as appetizers were excellent.
Very good wine selection.
Won’t be going back
Not a good first impression unfortunately. Our table ‘wasn’t ready’ when we arrived, but it was obvious there was a large table open in the back of the restaurant. When we were finally seated service was excruciatingly slow. We had to flag down wait staff to get drinks etc....In the middle of our appetizers they asked if we wanted to move to the larger table that was empty since we sat down late. We moved and again waited for eons for our dinner. It took almost 2 hours to get our food. It happened to be my birthday dinner which was a disappointment. And the bill included gratuity of 20% which was a huge slap after such atrocious service !
The IXSIR Wine Dinner was fantastic! All the courses paired perfectly with each wine selected. It was nice to hear the history of the IXSIR winery, and to also have the option to purchase the wine at a discounted rate through their partnership with Sigel's. Very cool!
We visit once or twice a year when we are in town. The food is top shelf. Service is efficient and not rushed
. Salum is just a comfortable place to dine. Looking forward to our next visit.
We have been dining at Salum's for years! Abraham is an amazing chef and human being and his staff are all top notched. Some of the best service in Dallas is to be found at this charming restaurant with innovative cuisine! We brought new diners with us and they were very impressed!!!
One of Dallas' great restaurants. Abraham Salum is always present to make sure everything goes well. Excellent, creative menu. Very good wine list at realistic prices.
Excellent new winter salad and great soup. Terrific lamb.
Salum is a jewel among Dallas restaurants. We had a dinner for 6.
All the entrees were delicious and beautifully prepared and plated. The lamb chops are a favorite and probably the most delicious and reasonably priced in town. Service is always friendly and helpful. Overall as good a meal as anywhere in Dallas.
The schnitzel sandwich was phenomenal! Service was not its usual excellence, but certainly good.
Menu changes monthly. Group of 8 this visit. Food varied and fantastic. Service wonderful.
Have been coming for years and thought maybe getting a little (just a little) stale but this visit once again hit it out of the park! Look forward to coming back ASAP.
Salum never disappoints. Chef Abraham Salum is constantly creating. Try the Paella!
Fantastic as usual.
European FANTASTICALLY Fantistic!Ran and Jan
The group absolutely the restaurant, for some it was their first time visiting there.
Chef Abraham stopped by to say hello which made even a greater impression. They raved about the food and service and will be coming back again!
Have never had a bad meal here. Food is always perfect, service is always on point. Longtime customer, and intend to keep it that way.
Have been here before but on this night was disappointed in the food. My redfish had a very unattractive lime green sauce that made eating the dish very difficult. One eats with ones eyes as well as taste and having something so atrocious is unacceptable
It was a very nice place. Everything was super well done.
One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas! The service is perfection!
Fabulous! Ran and Jan!
This must be the best restaurant in Dallas. Every time I visit I believe I've eaten the best food ever. Please do yourself a favor and try the salmon in grape leaves. Incredible!!! Service was a bit neglectful at times but I think it was because the server knew I had a birthday discount and thought I'd be less generous with my tip. Well, as soon as he saw the tip he perked up, but it was a bit late at that point. Not to say that service was terrible & it's certainly understandable to think that a table with two women may not tip as generously as others. Service was the only reason I didn't rate the entire experience as 5 star.
Always a special place, with good food, nice wine list and quiet so conversation is easy. Staff always very friendly and the owner makes you feel like you are home. Give it a try will not be disappointed.
Service was great, food was exceptional, we had a great time, and we got to talk to Abraham Salum, the mastermind behind this excellent restaurant! Definitely we’ll be back soon.
Staff, menu, and overall ambiance is 5-star. The beef tenderloin and lobster dish melted in my mouth. Save room for the chocolate/cherry brownie is well worth every calorie.
Dined here for New Years. Restaurant busy and kitchen got back up but food was great and service attentive and kept us in loop for service.
Went for New Year's Eve. They did an excellent job. Many groups of people, although it was just the two of us. We were never rushed. We really got to enjoy our evening full of delicious food.
Started with the Mussels and Pommes Frites. So flavorful! Would be great for an entree, too.
For the entree, I had the Artic Char-my husband had the Duck. Both wonderful with wonderful accompaniments. Couldn't be happier!
Dessert-heavenly Bread Pudding.
We will return. Just a lovely, tasty dinner. Exactly what we wanted in an attractive but cozy environment.
Food and atmosphere is great but service can be slow. Would absolutely go back though
Five stars (*) Fantastic! Ran and Jan.
We love to celebrate special occasions at Salum. We enjoyed New Years Eve 2018 and other NYEs in past years. The chef / owner Abrahim is a charming host and noticeably present in the room. 3 cheers and many stars for Salum!!
Though we had service issues, Abraham Salum was incredibly accommodating and generous. For that reason, we will definitely visit Salum again.
