Food is very good. Properly prepared with good presentation. Unfortunately they lost points on a server who feels we were doing her a favor. Not optimal at this price point. Perfectly fine for Burger King.
Appetizer tonight was the Mussels. Outstanding and well paired in its flavor profile.
I had the Lamb and Filet Mignon because I wanted experience both plates. Had some take home!
Both well prepared and presented.
Desert was a birthday cake Cannoli. A bit gritty for my taste. I prefer a soft smooth texture throughout. The flavor was good and the cannoli shell was very good.
Saluda's is always great. All three of us chose the Mahi and it was delicious. And we don't ever skip the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese - like little sandwiches.
It is one of my favorite places and I am NEVER disappointed!! Everything is "just right".
The meal was incredible, a true farm to table experience. Loved the uniquely inspired dishes from beginning to end. Fresh ingredients, a wonderful mirage of flavors, complimenting each other in an exquisite fashion.
This restaurant was a great find on a Saturday night that we needed a quiet date! The food was fabulous, the ambience was amazing and the service was very good....... only thing was he brought my soup out with a salad and I didn’t like that but otherwise everything was perfectly perfect!
It was a fantastic experience. The service, food, wonderful!!
Bartender and waitress were excellent. Food was the best we’ve ever had there. Two thumbs up!
Saluda’s is a forgotten gem in Columbia. We had such a great time celebrating out son-in-law’s birthday!
Husband's birthday and first date night in 9 months after having our first child. The evening started out great - great beer & wine selection, great service and delicious appetizer. The entrees were what ruined our evening. The Cajun pasta with "fresh made daily" pasta was over-cooked, way past the point of al dente. Husband ordered a medium temperature NY strip and was served a closer to rare, unseasoned, chewy/ gristley strip. Sent it back hoping for a new steak, seasoned & done right only to be served the same steak overdone. Ultimately the steak was inedible; we left hungry and very disappointed. Management offered us dessert to make up for the missteps on our entrees, instead we asked for the steak to be comped. I would only go back here for drinks & apps.
Saludas is currently the best white tablecloth restaurant in Columbia with perfect proportions and excellent tastes.
Very good experience all around
Service was great, our food was amazing and dessert was good as well.
Excellent Food! We want to go back to try some of the other dishes!
Food was very good. Loved the fried green tomato & fried oyster apps...also shrimp & grits entree was great! Our server, Abby, was wonderful & we were a larger group with children & we were seated in a perfect area out of the main dining room.
Truly enjoyed our evening meal. As things would go we were seated in the same seats we sat in for our anniversary last year. The service was great, atmosphere warm and welcoming. The food was awesome! Location is perfect, provides a little people watching. Highly recommend making a reservation it is a popular spot. If you are in Columbia, this is the place to dine where there.
Thanks to the team there - DL & Chelle
Excellent experience! Even when the restaurant was out of the special they went out of the way to make it a perfect evening. Fried green tomatoes were fantastic! Excellent scallops and filet.
Date night, we sat out on the balcony which was great. Food was amazing. For a fancy date night. Look at spending around $100 with food and drinks. Other than five points random yelling and loud cars it was great!!! Food was incredible. Honestly their Mac n cheese was out of this world.
The service was awesome. Was concerned at first because the menu changed. Always loved the fried green tomatoes with bbq pork and the sweet tea pork chops. The new recipes turned out to be good.
Fantastic in every way!
They were out of the fish but they gave me a complementary desert for my inconvenience. My wife's steak was a pretty small cut but my pork chops were massive. Overall very good.
Had a great time. The food was well thought out and delicious. Was truly an experience
Beautiful Valentines Day special the food was fantastic and the restaurant was gorgeous.
Excellent all around. I dined at the bar by myself and the entire staff was friendly and efficient. Food was wonderful and serving sizes were smaller (European style), and not overloaded American plates full of fat. I will visit again when I return to Columbia. I highly recommend Saluda's
Valentine’s dinner was even better at Saludas
8:30 reservation. Waited until after 9 to be seated.
Valentines Day. Was very loud. Food was very average and not well seasoned. I was actually very disappointed. Club music was playing in the background sounding more like a bar than a fine dining restaurant .
Saluda's is always wonderful to visit. The food is amazing.
Absolutely wonderful experience! We will definitely be back on a regular basis.
The food was okay. The service was bad. It was very noisy.
We have regularly stopped in Columbia, SC during our annual trek to Florida. Columbia has provided many positive dining experiences. Saluda's is now our new favorite. The food was excellent. We shared the cheese board appetizer. I had the pork chop; my partner had the rack of lamb. Both entrees were perfectly cooked. The pork chop was probably the most tender I've ever had. We split the chocolate cake dessert - very moist. Their wine list was extensive. The room was lovely and not too noisy. service was professional.
Saludas is always our favorite place to go as a couple. We took our children there years ago. They loved it. Our daughter chose it for her wedding reception this past November. Often has free valet parking. Good location in Five Points.
Fried oyster appetizer had too much sauce on it. They were very wet.
Some of the grilled vegetables and the lamb tasted like the grill was maybe not clean.
We have dined here in past but this time the quality was not normal.
NOT FOR mobility limited. On the second floor without elevator. Unfortunate because the food and drink are excellent. I don’t think it’s a owner problem but a historic building issue. However I cannot be for sure.
Regardless... overall 4.3 out of 5.
Bar - good drink options, excellent bartender, adequate space. Bourbon vodka selections very good. Tequila selection limited to mixers. Wine list very good. Overall it’s 4/5!
Appetizers- outstanding! Mussels and oysters. Great flavor and fresh. Would have liked a miniature Tabasco bottle and saltine options for my guests.
Mains - smoked and finished sirloin was first class presentation and flavors.
Shrimp and grits - good, definitely better than your average.
Deserts. I’m full. Next time:)).
Definitely going back!
Great service, delish food. Always nice ambiance. Our gluten free requests were accommodated. And, one guest asked for another fish option that wasn’t on menu and he was gracious,y offered another selection.
We had a lovely time and always enjoy dining at Saluda’s.
We each had different meals lamb, rancher steak and filet all cooked perfectly and the sides with each meal were very good. Pricey, but that was expected, atmosphere and service were upscale and nice. Will definitely return.
Food is always good and was quiet for a Saturday night.
Overall, we had a great meal. We were seated promptly and drink orders taken. Everything arrived in a timely fashion. The one thing not quite right was my steak. I ordered the surf and turf, which was a petite filet and prawns over a medley of vegetables. Everything had a good flavor but the steak was cool. Our daughter had ordered the same thing; I didn't ask if hers was cool, as I didn't want to distract from my husband's birthday.
Every time my husband and I go to Saluda’s we are pleased. The food is fresh, hearty, yet sophisticated. The chef makes vegetarian and vegan accommodations as well-something most higher end restaurants in the area will not do. Also, there is a romantic ambiance to the restaurant. Wonderful date location !!
If you're looking for a romantic night out on the town with your loved one this is the place. Low lights, wonderful ambience, knowledgeable and friendly staff occupy this second floor restaurant. First you have to find it ! Lol. Just look up! The food was well prepared and the way they serve their fried green tomatoes will keep you guessing, yes they're that good. We will definitely go back here again for a date night.
