Saluda's Ratings and Reviews
Excellent all around. I dined at the bar by myself and the entire staff was friendly and efficient. Food was wonderful and serving sizes were smaller (European style), and not overloaded American plates full of fat. I will visit again when I return to Columbia. I highly recommend Saluda's
We have regularly stopped in Columbia, SC during our annual trek to Florida. Columbia has provided many positive dining experiences. Saluda's is now our new favorite. The food was excellent. We shared the cheese board appetizer. I had the pork chop; my partner had the rack of lamb. Both entrees were perfectly cooked. The pork chop was probably the most tender I've ever had. We split the chocolate cake dessert - very moist. Their wine list was extensive. The room was lovely and not too noisy. service was professional.
NOT FOR mobility limited. On the second floor without elevator. Unfortunate because the food and drink are excellent. I don’t think it’s a owner problem but a historic building issue. However I cannot be for sure.
Regardless... overall 4.3 out of 5.
Bar - good drink options, excellent bartender, adequate space. Bourbon vodka selections very good. Tequila selection limited to mixers. Wine list very good. Overall it’s 4/5!
Appetizers- outstanding! Mussels and oysters. Great flavor and fresh. Would have liked a miniature Tabasco bottle and saltine options for my guests.
Mains - smoked and finished sirloin was first class presentation and flavors.
Shrimp and grits - good, definitely better than your average.
Deserts. I’m full. Next time:)).
Definitely going back!
Great service, delish food. Always nice ambiance. Our gluten free requests were accommodated. And, one guest asked for another fish option that wasn’t on menu and he was gracious,y offered another selection.
We had a lovely time and always enjoy dining at Saluda’s.
Overall, we had a great meal. We were seated promptly and drink orders taken. Everything arrived in a timely fashion. The one thing not quite right was my steak. I ordered the surf and turf, which was a petite filet and prawns over a medley of vegetables. Everything had a good flavor but the steak was cool. Our daughter had ordered the same thing; I didn't ask if hers was cool, as I didn't want to distract from my husband's birthday.
Every time my husband and I go to Saluda’s we are pleased. The food is fresh, hearty, yet sophisticated. The chef makes vegetarian and vegan accommodations as well-something most higher end restaurants in the area will not do. Also, there is a romantic ambiance to the restaurant. Wonderful date location !!
If you're looking for a romantic night out on the town with your loved one this is the place. Low lights, wonderful ambience, knowledgeable and friendly staff occupy this second floor restaurant. First you have to find it ! Lol. Just look up! The food was well prepared and the way they serve their fried green tomatoes will keep you guessing, yes they're that good. We will definitely go back here again for a date night.
THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. BUT THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN A TIME LIMIT ON A RESERVATION. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD TO BE OUT OF THERE BY 7:30PM BECAUSE THERE WAS ANOTHER PARTY COMING AT 7:30. NOW UPON LEAVING AT 7:50 THERE WAS NO ONE STANDING THERE WAITING FOR OUR TABLE AND THE STAFF WAS NOT THERE CLEARING THE TABLE AS WE LEFT. I HAVE EATEN AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT SEVERAL TIMES, SO YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE MY DISAPPOINTMENT AT BEING TIMED.
A wonderful dinner, had rack of lamb perfectly cooked and excellent presentation, delicious, husband had steak du jour, also perfect and delicious. Nice quiet music and the best waitress, Delane. Martini was exactly as we wanted. The best dinner ever. Would recommend to all; however the very long and steep stairs are a challenge to say the least and the only way up to this restaurant, they need to install a chair lift to assist ones if necessary, no elevator or handicap access, so this might be an issue for some. Valet parking available most evenings with metered parking on street. We look forward to going back soon to this lovely upscale restaurant with a hugh wine list and hand crafted cocktails, wonderful desserts and fabulous entrees.
Typically, we really enjoy saluda's and the atmosphere is nice. We were sat next to the hostess stand and the waiter was not very attentive which I thought for a large party we had fair/poor service.
I have gone in the past and the food was better. Over all average, may not go back for awhile...
Group of 7 for birthday dinner. Dinner took 3 hours with at least a 30 minute wait between salads and entrees. The food was delicious when we finally got it, then it took a while for checks. It was restaurant week so i will cut them some slack and try saludas again!
Outstanding Restaurant Week dining. 1st course of lobster ravioli, 2nd course lobster bisque, main course filet mignon lobster oscar, all very delicious, accompanied with nice bottle of Oregon pinot noir. Service and food all outstanding. Will definitely be back!
Great restaurant. Valet. Tables were nicely spaced. White tablecloths. Noise level a lively hum, but I could hear my date well and could not hear other conversations. Food was excellent. French press coffee at the end. We spent 3 hrs over a long supper. Delightful. Looking forward to our return.
Food was good but my ranch steak was a little cold, and my friend’s pasta was piping hot! The bartender also told us he was busy, gave us a drink menu but never got around to taking our drink order. We just ended up waiting to be seated to get our drinks. Our waitress was very nice and everything else was great.
