Im a white male and I date a black woman, neither of us drink, and she is a light eater. From the moment we sat down it felt awkward. I’m not sure if it was because we didn’t spend a fortune at a “nicer” restaurant (mind you I have been to MUCH fancier dining establishments), or if it’s because we are an interracial couple, but I would never go back to that place.
Our waiter was excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend Saluda’s.
Our server Victoria was fantastic! Took my mother here for her 85th birthday and she and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend Saluda's for special occasions, casual dining or just meeting friends for a drink.
Four of us enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner here over the weekend before heading to the Cirque show. My friend enjoyed the blood orange martini to start which she loved! We shared the oysters, fried green tomatoes & salad for our starters. My friend & I tried the salmon special for dinner which was over coconut jasmine rice ~ cooked & seasoned perfectly! Our husbands had the 10 oz filet and shrimp & grits which were also delicious. We ended the evening by splitting the creme brûlée and strawberry mousse! Service was friendly & attentive! What more could you ask for!
Had an absolute perfect night with the girl of my dreams. Great atmosphere and wonderful food.
This was our Anniversary and we had a lovely meal and the atmosphere was the best and there were two specials a steak and a seafood option they were both great. Just one issue there seems to be no elevator and we had to climb stairs that we didn’t know about before hand
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight for my mother’s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, the noise level... what noise? It was just a smooth night with wonderful service from our waitress Chris and the chef definitely delivered. Of course we will be back.
We celebrated our anniversary at Saluda's on July 3, 2019. The service was excellent as our waitress was attentive and helpful with my wife's food sensitivities. The ambiance was pleasant as the room is open, tastefully decorated, and the windows in the front illuminate the entire area. The presentation of our entrees was well done. The food was excellent and prepared to our wishes. A very enjoyable experience to celebrate our milestone.
Food was fantastic
We went in a Sunday evening and sat on the porch. Our server was Aerin, who was terrific. Everything was great — food, service, drinks, ambience. Would highly recommend Saluda.
Excellent service. Ambiance was lovely. Food delicious!
Best date in a long time.
One of the best restaurants in Columbia! Never disappoints and food is always great!
Superb food. Great ambiance. Relaxing atmosphere.
Our first trip to Columbia.. Excellent choice of restaurants.. food was delicious and fixed to meet our dietary needs. Seated in a corner table for my hearing issues. waiter was very attentive and helped me find the wine of my liking. EXCELLENT food, service and ambience.
Food was well prepared but portions were a bit Amal’s eve for me. They should consider serving some type of bread wilts all entreys
What a lovely little place with amazing quality food. Service was top notch. The ribeye special was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. I highly recommend Saluda’s.
Waiter seemed like he didn’t really want to be there. Did not bring bread did not refill water. Very disappointed. Food was average. Steak was dry very small pice of fish.
This was our first time at Saluda's. Sedona was so helpful and welcoming. Olivia was a phenomenal waitress and suggested entrees, shared the specials, and efficiently served us. Olivia said that Matthew was the chef. The scallops were exquisite and the vegetables were perfectly sauteed. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection. We will recommend Saluda's and will return for a special occassion in the near future!
We went for our Anniversary, and the food and service were outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Excellent- service, quality of food, wine and ambiance
Our first time visiting Saluda's, and I am happy to say, it was just fabulous!
Wonderful dining experience. Love the new deviled eggs!
Great as usual. Our favorite spot. Everything was delicious. We know it gets busy sometimes but it's nice to decide to go somewhere fancy at the last minute and be able to come in.
As always, excellent food and excellent service. Appreciate that it is relatively quiet. Both of us had the flavorful brined pork chop -- and sides were absolutely outstanding for flavor.
The food was great and the service was excellent, as with some restaurants, we were not hurried at all. A very pleasant evening.
Saluda’s is a very nice place! Incredibly bar. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Food is good.
If I could give Saluda’s 10 stars, I would. It was a phenomenal experience across the board. The atmosphere was perfectly dim and quiet. Our server, Victoria, was simply amazing. I never once thought “Where’s our server?” She always showed up at the perfect time, and she was friendly, upbeat and accommodating.
The food was out of this world. Everything was cooked to perfection. The appetizers were divine, the main courses beyond delicious. The bartender was super friendly and fun and made a drink specifically for me, which I absolutely loved! Everyone was so nice - not what I was expecting from such a highbrow establishment.
My only complaint is how difficult it was to leave and go back to reality! I highly recommend to anyone who loves great food and a beautiful atmosphere.
Our meals were absolutely delicious. I got the ranch steak and my husband got the fish du jour. Wonderful date night!
Overall the experience was outstanding. Beautiful restaurant with well-trained, professional staff. The food was very good - high marks for creative, delicious side dishes and appetizers. Main dish was average, somewhat overcooked. The staff and service were outstanding.
We both ordered their famous shrimp and grits. It was fabulous! Corbin, our waiter assured us that we would love the dish, and he was absolutely correct. Can’t wait to return.
One of my favorites
This was one of the nicest meals I have had in quite sometime! First of all, four words that I now love in one phrase: pimento cheese deviled eggs. Oh my goodness...so so delicious...as was our filet, the wine, the gourmet mac and cheeses. And sitting on the terrace overlooking Five Points during a rain storm. And one of the nicest and most responsive waiters ever! Thanks for making my first meal out in awhile a delicious and memorable experience! Saluda's is classic Columbia cuisine for a reason!
Fabulous food. The Shrimp & Grits were excellent and as good as any we've ever eaten. Also, the timing of the meal was as perfect as it could be. The appetizer came as we finished a pre-dinner drink and the main course did not come too early or too late. Perfect timing. The server was as marvelous as the dinner.
Loved the fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese. They also were quite accommodating in splitting our order between two people. Next time I am in Columbia, I will be back.
Great Experience overall. Thank you for accommodating my family and I for my Daughter's Graduation dinner. Only thing I disagree with is the Auto Gratuity. I was under the impression that if it is a party of 6 or more and there is only 1 bill for the table the their would be an automatic gratuity. In this case we had a party of 9 and then 8 after my daughter left but 3 different checks and all 3 checks had auto gratuity on them. Clarification would be great. My wife made me aware. Don't get me wrong my server would have received a great tip for the great job she did. I was just not aware of auto gratuity. Thank you again.
We had a great dinner. Food was creative and delicious. Owner Steve selected a great wine to accompany our food choices. Service wad superb.
Great service and delicious food. Perfect. Waitress and hostess very nice. We had a lovely night.
A perfect dining experience! Your dining experience begins the moment you pull up with complimentary valet. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and they promptly seated us at the bar where the bartender Chris made us a delicious blood orange martini. We were then seated at a table with white linens and a spotlight that allowed us to read the menu without squinting! Corbin our waiter was personable, knowledgeable about the menu and clearly a fellow foodie. We started with the mussels which were delectable, both the meat and cheese charcuterie boards which my fiancé deemed the best we have had in the area ...the berry jam was the jam! We also had the buffalo fried oysters which were crispy and hot on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. For dinner we had the ribeye special with feta and a chimchurri sauce which the general manager Andrew recommended along with a cab which is now my new favorite cab. My fiancé had the filet with blue cheese fondue on top and it just melted in your mouth. I highly recommend the Brussels and Gouda bacon Mac and cheese as your sides! Since we dined so late we had the chef Josh come out and personally greet us and talk a bit about the menu which was so awesome. We ended dinner back with Chris the magical mixologist who made us a green tea peach drink for dessert. I highly suggest people check this place out if they want delicious well thought out food, a service team who are knowledgeable about food, have attention for detail and are just fun to be around in a beautiful ambient environment.
Celebrations call for outstanding food and experience. Saluda’s gave us both with exception of the ranch steak. Our Research finds that the cut could be chewy. Even after reading that on the internet, I ordered it anyway not expecting Saluda’s to serve a chewy meat. It was a bit chewy but I didn’t complain. I would suggest another cut of meat or that ranch steak is explained better on the menu. I would still come back again and again.
