Located in the heart of Five Points, just steps from the University of South Carolina’s campus and less than a mile from the state capitol building, Saluda’s has been impressing Columbia residents and visitors since it opened to much fanfare in 1996. Saluda's has created an exciting menu intermingling classically prepared dishes with cutting edge techniques and ingredients. Saluda's menu is built around mixing locally grown seasonal products with luxurious ingredients from around the world.     We went to Saluda’s for our anniversary. We reserved a table outside on the patio. It was perfect for a cozy and romantic night. The views were beautiful!! Our waitress, Mallory, was very sweet and checked on us periodically. She had some great recommendations for appetizers and dinner. The food was amazing! We definitely can’t wait to go back! I definitely recommend trying the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Brussels!!

    When the reservations were made, I put in we were celebrating our anniversary. And under the special request, I specifically said we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary which is a pretty big deal. We were never asked if we were there to celebrate anything special, we were never told happy anniversary and thank you for celebrating with us. We honestly felt like it was just another normal night out to dinner. We got all dressed up to celebrate our special night and since the dress code was business casual it was rather odd to see one of the hostesses wearing jeans and high top tennis shoes and to see other guests wearing jeans. We we’re expecting the restaurant to be a lot more upscale than what it actually is. It is a nice place but in my opinion, it’s not a place to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary. For fine dining I would expect to be in a restaurant for two hours or more and we were there for less than an hour and 30 minutes. The server was nice. However, he read the menu to us, and when I had questions about the menu, he couldn’t answer my questions he wasn’t as knowledgeable about the menu as one would’ve expected.. The beer selection was minimal and they were out of one of the beers that I wanted. The dessert menu is small and they were out of the only dessert that my wife and I liked. So overall, it was an average dinner for our 25th wedding anniversary. We will not be back. When we left Saluda’s after dinner we went to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and had an absolute amazing time. The ambience was good, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and the desserts were fantastic. We were treated like it was our 25th anniversary celebration and they made it feel extremely special. We will definitely return to Ruth’s Chris’s Steakhouse.

    This was our first time dining at Saluda. I have to say our server Colleen provided us with exceptional service. Our food was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again soon and requesting Colleen as our server.

    In town for parent’s weekend and arrived early ahead of an 8:30 res. Host not only made the call to seat us early but also accommodated a request for outside seating. Weather was unusually fantastic for Cola. Service and food were as exceptional…thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Will def. return!

    We loved our dinner at Saluda’s. Our waitress was personable and knew the menu very well. We had outside seating which made it even better. Everyone from start to finish were very gracious and accommodating and we would definitely come back.

    Hot pork cheeks were great, sirloin done to be perfection, scallops very good, mahi mahi great too. A little dining music was only thing missing. Service excellent, not hovering but attentive.

    My husband had excellent shrimp & grits. His crabcake appetizer was great, but for me, had too much of a red pepper taste. I really enjoyed the pork belly, done very well and certainly was a generous portion. Service was very good, noise level a bit much at times.

    Great experience overall, the food is always a solid staple. The only issue we had was the waitress service has decreased. Clearly the waitresses didn't understand that Saludas has standards, this is the reason we keep coming back. She was not attentive, didn't explain anything to us on the menu, our table was not cleaned off from course to course. Overall she was not a good waitress. We tipped but shouldn't have. I will try again, maybe it was a off night.

    We had the pasta with shrimp, the seafood trio and a side of brussel sprouts. The seafood trio was great. The pasta was a little bland and the brussel sprouts were way too salty. We had to ask for bread. Our server appeared to be rather new and knew nothing at all about wine. While pouring our wine he sloshed it over the sides of both glasses, on the tablecloth and all over the bread plate. I had to ask for something to wipe it up but instead, he got me a new plate. The wine prices acceptable at 2X retail.

    The food at Saluda’s is consistently good. Everything on the menu. The service is always great, and the ambiance is even better. Definitely one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in Columbia.

    Our entrees were the Seafood Trio, the Filet Mignon and Pasta With Meatballs. Everything was wonderful. Our server Molly couldn't have been any better.

    I believe I choose the wrong dish relying on the waiter's description of the peppers. The service was good. The table were at was too small for 2 people. My dining partner didn't appear impressed by her meal either.

    Saluda’s will ALWAYS be a favorite for me! Always. I’ve never had an unpleasant experience. Our waitress, Molly, was absolutely awesome! The food was great and the atmosphere was enjoyable! The Citrus-Agave brined grilled pork chop was absolutely delicious. The pork cheek was super tender and fried potato croquettes were amazing. The dessert, pumpkin spice cake, was sooo good and paired with salted caramel Martini!! Whew!! Of course we will be back and I look forward to any menu updates. Kudos Molly, Saluda’s truly has a gem!!

    This particular night was the first Gamecock football of the SEC season so the restaurant was very quiet. Our apps were good, but not the best I have ever had. My crab cake was wonderful. The cake was almost all crab meat and hardly any filler. We had a banana pudding cheesecake that was awesome. Overall it was a good night and I would definitely go back.

    We have been coming to Saludas for over 20 Years. Over that time it has changed owners an chefs. The quality has varied with the time. Happy to report that this was the best ever. Food was outstanding and service was excellent. Small menu but they do it right.

    Saludas is a favorite for us. We both opted for the shrimp and grits this visit. The recipe has been updated and is now a tomato sauce with way too much chopped (jarred? fresh?) raw garlic. The garlic was crunchy and overwhelmed the entire dish. The tomato sauce was too heavy, too much of it, and it overpowered any creamy taste and texture of the local grits. This dish was very disappointing. The service was great, the cocktails were great. I encourage the chef to back off on the garlic and the amount of sauce, or rework the sauce altogether.
