Amazing brunch, worth the price!
This was a birthday celebration and they give us the best table in the restaurant - corner windows facing the sunset. The food was excellent, especially the scallops and the lemon cheese cake. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. We would highly recommend Salty's to anyone who enjoys excellent seafood.
Have been to Saltys for Brunch about 5 or 6 times, I thought food was the best this time.
Always great although I did get a couple frozen crab legs ☹️.
Great experience. Loved the brunch, food was excellent, staff was wonderful
Good so far, but no fresh osters as online menu saus
I was referred to this restaurant by a coworker, who said that the steak was great. Given the prices, I would have been hesitant to go without a good recommendation. The filet mignon was tender, juicy, and glorious. The environment – right on the river – was peaceful and recharging. All in all, it was worth the money.
Nice scenery and nice waitstaff!
One of the best places around. Always enjoy the staff and the food is great.
The food is great, little expensive but your paying for the location on the river. Very nice place in summertime. The noise level at times gets out of hand at times, not a real good place to have a conversation when crowded.
When in town, we visit this place at least once. This past visit, it took nearly 50 minutes to be served our dinner after eating our salads. Manager was very sorry, said they didn't expect that much business.
Good experience the only thing that really bugged me was the short pours on my beer pints. The pint glasses they have are exactly 16 oz when full to the top.. the very top.
You only get a 12 oz beer
My neighbor took me to Salty’s On the Columbia for my birthday celebration. Neither of us drink but the drink menu was quite impressive. The variety on the lunch menu was more than adequate to find something that caught our attention. To top it off, the free birthday “white chocolate mousse cake” was too good to pass up. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch ... waterview, quiet dining, great service from our server and free birthday cake. I could do this event several times a year!
The food and service here was very good but the atmosphere looks tired. Furnishings are pretty old, needs a face lift.
very good food and service. we had one small problem but it was quickly resolved. we plan to return again in the future.
So many Gluten Free options as well as bending over backwards to cook separate food to avoid cross contamination...the head chef even made a special desert for my partner who has an auto immune disease.
If you do not like brunch buffets do not go to brunch here. Was really crowded. Food was good though!
Sunday Brunch was off the chart. our 1st time there and what an awesome experience it was celebrating our anniversary. everything from the food to the drinks and the service and atmosphere is extraordinary. I even tipped the bartender separately. definitely going back again and again and again.
Great brunch with excellent seafood options and waterfront location.
Band upstairs was way too loud. Food was great (it always is)
Very tasty dinners . . . one of us had the Alaska King Salmon special and the other had the scallops. Made reservations early and we got a great window table. Just happened to be there on Friday night for the Mel Brown trio . . . a nice dessert.
We requested a window and had a beautiful table overlooking the river. Our server was fabulous, very helpful and perfect attentiveness. The food was outstanding, in particular the Salmon special.
April grilled Halibut special hit the mark! (All the Halibut special options are Alaskan wild)
Food overall is great, clam chowder soup was cold quick, it needs to keep the warm little longer. Price is high for almost every items in menu, plus the suggested fix tip percentage. Overall, great ambiance for dinner get together, only concern about high price menu.
Our server, Rebecca, was fun and knowledgeable. Great service, too. The prawn cocktail came with 5 huge prawns. Although very good, they had the consistency of having being frozen. Cocktail sauce was delightful. My open-faced crab melt was delicious, but a bit too creamy. My friend's shrimp and crab Louie was wonderful! Good house-made chips served in place of bread, and we were offered seconds. Delightful place overlooking the Columbia River. I've heard they have a fantastic weekend brunch which I would love to try sometime! I can also imagine it's a romantic spot in the evening!!
The attraction here is the waterfront, a great view from most tables. Although the food is fresh and ingredients are of very good quality, I feel they could be more creative with the dishes especially for the prices charged. Execution in the kitchen is sometimes irregular. My halibut was flavorful but a little overcooked. The rice pilaf was a sticky, solid mass and not the loose rice pilaf texture it should be. The salmon special was cooked properly and flavorful, but the smashed potatoes were somewhat bland. The lemon flavored white cake with whipped cream filling was a standout.
In the past, I had a fabulous cioppino here that was the best I ever tasted, but alas it is no longer available.
The service we received from Kade was outstanding, attentive and efficient but never overbearing.
I would recommend this restaurant.
We came from two different parts of So Cal to see my sister's daughter on her birthday. The food was incredibly good starting with the fresh bread which we couldn't stop eating. My niece had the pasta carbonara with seafood. Such a creamy, rich delight, loaded with crab and shrimp. My sister had the amply calamari appetizer which was so good she ate the whole thing. I had the Wild Salmon, with sauce on the side, fresh roasted baby asparagus and roasted smashed golden potatoes. It was exactly what I wanted, pure, cooked perfectly and everything fresh. David Goldman, the manager was on top of every detail without being obtrusive. He made us feel so welcome and pampered. My niece, for her birthday was treated to a scrumptious, light cake with white chocolate and raspberry puree, Fab! And David kindly brought my sister and I a decadent creme brulee to share. It was a beautiful evening and we can't WAIT to go back. Truly a cut above the rest! Thanks David and our lovely server for making our evening such a success.
Incredible! No room for improvement...except for the prime rib- that was a little off. But everything else was beyond fabulous!!
We absolutely loved the Sunday brunch. The variety of the offerings was amazing. Our service was top notch. It was our first time at Salty’s but we will be sure to return.
I brought my son here for dinner as he was visiting me from California. We had the best time, best drinks, great food and the Teri miso was to die for. Expensive but worth it.
Food was as good as you've heard about. Snow crab and oysters were great. Didn't have the prime rib till the end, but wish I would have had more of it. It was reallllly good. Waiters were top notch an very at ententive. The only thing I wish was we got a view from our seat. Next time I'll request one. Will definitely go back. Also the biscuits and grave were awesome, something I wouldn't normally get at a brunch but glad I did. Mini eauclaires and cheesecake also good. Lots of other stuff too. Buthe I'm rambling now
My main reason for coming to Salty's was for the Pawns and King Crab which they had none of those, what they called Pawns was medium size shrimp and snow crab, I really don't like spending that type of money unless the seafood is worth it. I will not be going back unless someone else will be paying for my meal.
Normally I am very happy with my meal. This last time I ordered the Halibut, about a $60.00 entree. The Halibut was nearly cold and under cooked. I ate it anyway, since we were with good friends, and having a good time, but had i been alone, I would have sent it back.
Our entire dinner for (4) had to be at least $350.00, and they only split a Fish and Chips dinner with soup and a few beers.
Not sure I will return.
I'm just disappointed.
The service was excellent! Our waiter, Matt, was polite, well informed, and efficient. However, the food was a different story. I would rate the food as mediocre at best. The prices certainly did not reflect the quality or quantity of the food. My husband ordered the halibut and received a piece of fish (tasted like cod) that was about the size of a deck of cards with a small scoop of sticky rice; for this small morsel, we paid $52.00. I ordered king crab carbonara and received a small bowl of spaghetti noodles with minimal sauce covered in baby peas with two pieces of crab about the size of my index finger (I have very small hands), for $30.00. Our dinners did not include soup, salad, a side of vegetables, bread, or even coffee. We are pleased that Portland offers many wonderful restaurants where we can get a good meal at reasonable prices, unfortunately, Salty's is not among them. This dining experience was a true disappointment.
Staff was wonderful. Food was excellent. View of the Columbia River is a real plus.
We were seated at a beautiful table overlooking the river at sunset. The service was impeccable (Thanks Brian) and the food was delicious. Special shout out to the mussels and clams appetizer. Really delicious!!
Our reservation on April 6, 2018, was to celebrate the birthday of a very dear friend. The reservation was very smooth & our request for a table by the window was granted. The staff was exceptional in every way. Our server was very attentive; unfortunately, I can't remember his name. Our drinks and food were served in a timely manner. Four of our party had Fish & Chips and raved about it. I had a the Crab & Shrimp Louis which was excellent. Our sixth member is a vegan and seemed pleased with her selection of a side salad and fruit dish. She would have appreciated seeing more vegan dished on the menu. However, the rest of us were very pleased. We were not rushed in any way; in fact, we enjoyed a three-hour lunch! Of course, the view is outstanding. I have to say that Salty's is among my favorite places to dine for lunch and/or dinner, and we certainly will be back. Thank you for helping us celebrate a special birthday. We loved the balloons and the personalized greeting card . . . a very special touch!
The food is great, restaurant and view is awesome, but the price of the food was a little much. We had a casual business dinner that was $150 for 3. Special occasion great, but won’t be taking business meetings there anymore.
The place could be updated and setup could have better view from window seats. The service was amazing. Food was good. Disappointed no brunch on weekdays.
The evening was lovely. Staff were polite and helpful. I tried the rack of Lamb and it was delicious!
We enjoyed our Easter brunch at Salty’s. The Dungeness crab is fresh, delicious and bountiful, as is the peel and eat shrimp. Our waiter was very gracious and knew perfectly when to fill up our mimosas. We sat upstairs and had a terrific view of the Columbia River. All of the food is downstairs but we enjoy walking, so it was easy to fill our plates with delicious food and return to our table. Salty’s is a great experience for brunch. We will return.
