Salty's on the Columbia
The view was spectacular! The food took 45+ minutes to come out and the sides were high priced for such small portions. The food was very good though.
Delicious as always! Prices are a bit high, though.
Visiting from Florida and definitely made the best decision to have lunch here. Enjoyed great service because of the pleasant staff and the view is just beautiful. We had a clear day and it is the perfect stop close to the airport! Definitely would recommend for service and quality of food.
Absolutely delightful experience. Dining in a restaurant with good food, good service, and a great location overlooking the Columbia River is an outstanding experience.
We love going to Salty's for their weekend brunch on special occasions. The food is always solid with plenty of variety to choose from. For us, there's nothing like taking several hours to leisurely eat and drink lovely mimosas.
When making my reservation I was asked two questions, both of which were ignored. I was asked if I/we were celebrating a special occasion, to which I replied yes, a birthday, and do you have a problem with stairs, to which I also replied yes. We were seated upstairs and no mention was made/acknowledged regarding my wife’s birthday, the occasion being celebrated.
This place was a wonderful experience for all. Little to noisy but from the time we pulled up to the door to the time we left nothing but great serve. Thank you for a wonderful night.
I always appreciate there good food and service! Thank you
Fantastic care by our server and amazing food. Loved the views
Not that Salty’s probably needs another review or that I’ll say anything that hasn’t been said before but it’s great food and great location and we had great service as well. All the hot food was hot and cold food was cold, all was very fresh and rotatated regularly during the Brunch. Our Server was fantastic, she was very friendly and attentive. Not something most folks would do regularly (their brunch Buffett) but as a celebration or an occasional event I highly recommend it.
Fantastic views, amazing foods. The crew took care of everyone’s needs, and made sure to provide us with an exceptional time. Can’t recommend enough.
Great service, value, quality and service! We were there for several hours for brunch and didn't feel rushed. Our server, Jonathan, was attentive, but not over bearing.
Good brunch, lots of options, patio was nice
We had a great experience at Saltys. We ate here on our honeymoon and had exceptional service. We sat out side on the patio and we were able to watch the sunset. Once the sun went down and it go cold, the waiter quickly brought us blankets and turned the heater on. Loved how much everyone cared. Will be back when we are in the state again!
It was ALL Good except the Live Music (was even really good) but WAY to Loud... Couldn’t hold a conversation at the table.
We had a lovely dinner. They made our anniversary very special with rose petals on the table and a complimentary dessert and sparkling wine. Holly, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. A great dining experience and we will go back!
Great views, fantastic service, food was amazing, and they had a very good jazz trio that were terrific. We’ll go again
I brought out of town family for a special event dinner. Right from the beginning when we pulled up to valet park they did not make a good impression. 6:25 PM on a Friday night. It was not busy. The valet guy looked at us did not even wave or acknowledge us, And then disappeared for about seven minutes. Just kept my 84-year-old parents waiting. He was not getting keys for somebody else. Then someone came out of the restaurant and he went and got their keys in their car before checking us in.
The view was beautiful, and our appetizers and beverages came out in a timely fashion, but the kitchen could not get it together to bring our food out hot. We politely sent it back when it was cold and it took 25 minutes for them to bring out the replacements. Wait staff did not come over to tell us what it happened or that they were completely remaking it, which should’ve happened within about 10 minutes.
To his credit, when the food finally did come out, the manager delivered the plates himself and apologized… we had upgraded our dishes to add the fresh Dungeness crab that was in season, and it was a joke on the replacement dishes… It was about a third of the amount that had been on the original ones. This is just plain poor tension to detail… For a $16 upgrade it should at least present like it looks like it’s worth it.
It also got very noisy after all this waiting which was difficult for my father who wears hearing aids… Have they delivered the food hot and ready to go the first time it probably wouldn’t of been such an issue we would’ve probably been finished. They offered to buy us dessert for the trouble but didn’t make any other adjustments to the bill. Unfortunately because the desert selection only had one gluten and dairy free option my father was the only one who could really benefit.
We enjoyed a lovely evening At Salty’s. The sunset over the Columbia River was spectacular, the seafood we ordered was delicious. The server was exceptionally friendly. The only complaint was that it took a while for the food to arrive, but it was a busy night at the restaurant, and it gave us plenty of time to enjoy our date. :) Plus they gave us a complimentary desert since we were celebrating our anniversary!
Nice restaurant and enjoyed the food and the patio.
Such a shame, I was so looking forward to this meal and what a disappointment. Way too load, windows were filthy, way over priced for what you received, 4 of the muscles weren’t opened, the halibut fish was not firm was too mushie. The decor is so bad. We will not be back unfortunately. There are a lot better restaurants out there that you get a great meal for the same price.
My grade school friend from Nebraska was in town and I wanted her to experience Saltys on the Columbia. We were seated at a window table and Sean, our server, took excellent care of us. He was very kind, knew the menu choices and offered the wonderful chowder as an upgrade of my salad. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and my girlfriend was very pleased with my restaurant choice. I will definitely return.
All the staff members were very courteous, polite, efficient and helpful. Great view. A little pricey, but food was outstanding. Great chowder, halibut and sturgeon/scallops.
The wait staff, food and view were all incredible. Very impressed!!
Excellent food and service, quiet setting with great views of the Columbia River.
My favorite restaurant in Portland, by far! Can't wait to try the brunch!
Great brunch. Sat on the deck with heaters going. Great atmosphere. Popular brunch - they keep the selections fully stocked no matter what time you arrive.
I was forced to give my email address to make a reservation, not to receive your damn spam mail. I do not want to wait 2 days to be removed from you email service and will recommend to everyone to avoid your business unless they want to be bothered by your "Open Table" garbage!
Service is great had to wait a while for food to be refreshed and price is a bit much for options.
It was a fantastic place to have an anniversary dinner!
We love Saltys! I had the coconut shrimp followed by king Salmon with peach glaze. All my food was excellent. My husband thought his halibut was slightly overcooked but very good and the clam chouder is the best ever. We had house made cheesecake for desert also great. Our server, Theodore was friendly and attentive we never felt rushed. Another relaxing and delicious evening.
Nice dinner with out of town guests. Food was very good. Ambience was busy, bordering on loud. Dining area feels outdated. Also, dining experience would be improved if the large spiders and webs were removed from the exterior windows. We all noticed and commented. I'm certain we're not alone. For a high end restaurant this should be a given. Power wash your building Salty's!!! Thx.
Great place to celebrate our anniversary. We’ll be back
We had a great time and the food this time was fantastic. My wife and daughter both thought it was great, and so did I. The last time we were there the was a lot of sand in the clams and it wasn't a very pleasant experience. This time great.
Our server Brian as super helpful and knowledgeable. A big thank you to all the staff for a wonderful brunch. See you all soon.
The Armstrong Family
Great service from BJ. Delicious food and great service
Awesome food. Great location. But pretty pricey!!
We have eaten at Salty's before, this experience although decent, was not great. Service from Valet, to Hostess and Waiter was wonderful, but for whatever reason food, not amazing.
Steak arrived and it was underwhelming, Lobster maybe slightly under-cooked, just not warm enough. We did however enjoy our cocktails, appetizers, chowder and the view.
We were really looking forward to a great meal and we were disappointed.
Great view and food. Service terrific
Very relaxing, great food and good service. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves.
Had a business dinner where we all enjoyed different dishes and had a wonderful Pinot Gris from Oregon. Food was really great but expensive. Service good and views amazing as always.
