Salty's on Alki Beach Ratings and Reviews
Given a small table in the corner by the cashiers’ desk with dirty windows in the corner. Waiter was very friendly but we weren’t given the extra attention other tables near us were - i.e., weren’t offered pepper, told the specials, I was told there was one rose wine variety available but there was a second on the extra Valentines menu we were given....But the food was excellent and we enjoyed our visit otherwise.
We had family in town, and thought the view from Salty’s looking back upon Seattle would be pretty. We didn’t even realize they would be having their Buffett today! It was unbelievable! Fantastic food, great views, excellent service - it couldn’t have been better!
The wait wasn't very fun. What's the point of a reservation when you have to wait 20 more minutes after the time of your reservation? We even got there 20 minutes earlier and still had to wait after the time of our reservation. The trout was very good but the rice and green beans that came with it wasn't even cooked all the way.
Saltys has fresh seafood prepared well and a friendly staff. The atmosphere is "Chili's Chic" and I mean that in both a good and bad way. It depends on your preference: if you like Chili's and you're looking for a 'fancy' night out, you'll love Saltys! On the other hand, if people call you a foodie and you like exploring the hip places in Capital Hill (etc), you might be underwhelmed with the Saltys experience. You're going to pay $$$ either way. One minor note: we split a cold seafood platter appetizer with crab legs, etc and split a warm entree. However, they brought both at the same time. The crab legs et al take a long time to get through so by the time we got to the entree, it was cold :( be sure to ask for one course at a time if you do the same.
My wife and I came here for Valentine's Day. It was our first time to this restaurant. She enjoyed the experience so that was a relief for me. I thought the food was a bit too buttery and rich for my taste and it left me feeling uneasy the rest of the night. She ordered the Best Friend and I ordered the Lobster tail with rice. We also got calamri and oysters to start. I got a glass of Malbec and then switched to the Cabernet. Was it worth about $200? Not at all. Was it worth it? I'll call it a draw bc my wife liked it. Would I go back again? Maybe less than a handful of times before I die.
The ambience of the restaurant is great. The views of downtown Seattle are amazing. I was disappointed in the food. The crab was excellent and they did accommodate us to have the crab as an appetizer; however my filet mignon with crab, asparagus and a beanies sauce was very disappointing for the price. The filet was perfectly cooked, however it was drowning in the sauce with an underwhelming amount of crab (maybe a tablespoon) and very little asparagus. I did share my concern with our server. It was my error not to express that I preferred sauce on the side and/or very little. She was receptive to comments but made a point to tell me that she doesn't prepare the food. On the other hand, my two friends were pleased with their food.
Four diners for a birthday dinner. We all loved our entrees (crab, Chilean Sea Bass wrapped in Prosciutto and the special Rockfish with crab). The atmosphere is upscale funky - and you simply can't beat the views. Our server, Patrick, was among the best we've ever had. He was on top of it; friendly and attentive without being invasive. Dessert was equally delicious. Our guests raved about the cheesecake on the ride home. Overall, it was a delightful dinner and we will be back!
Salty's is always a favorite for me. This time my entrée was lukewarm and I sent it back. I was given a new one piping hot, which was lovely, and delicious. Then I was not charged for my meal, which was completely unnecessary, but a very nice gesture. Thank you again. Marcia
Seafood brunch was absolutely great! Enormous selection of traditional brunch fare plus great selection of fresh seafood!. We had a window seat, but every seat had a water view. Stunning views all around. Excellent staff, totally attentive (Thank you John!) Highly reccomend for all.
My wife and I actually had our wedding at Salty's in 2014, and have made it our tradition to come back every year on our anniversary. They have never disappointed, and their steak and seafood are absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend making a visit to Salty's!
We arrived about 5 minutes prior to our reservation but even though there were tables available we had to wait until past our 6 pm reservation time. Our server was excellent however for the price you pay we felt the quality of the food was sub par. We all had the Chilean sea bass. The simple preparation lacked flavor and obviously was previously frozen. All in all we felt the quality did not justify the prices on the menu.
I took my significant other here last weekend to celebrate their birthday and we had a great time. We arrived a few minutes past our reservation time and waited less than 15 minutes to get seated. They advised us to keep our stay to within 90 minutes. The few of the Seattle skyline is unparalleled, the weather was decent enough to see the city despite the clouds but a few sun rays shined through to light up the buildings. Once seated, we ordered coffee and made our way to the food. Lots of fresh seafood and a diverse spread of usual continental delights. So many choices! We started with crab and oysters (to get our money's worth) and second course included pasta, eggs Benedict, Belgian waffle, bacon, etc. We were practically stuffed by our second plates but of course we saved room for desert! We indulged in the fondue fountains of salted caramel and chocolate and a few other small bites before ending our visit. Highly recommend for a special occasion. The service was relatively quick despite how busy it was. A nice touch is the hots towels they bring by after breaking apart crab legs and shrimp.
This crab fest meal for my friends and me was a repeat of Salty's crabby Mondays October offering. Went back for the crab in January. A little more expensive because the Caesar Salad was not included but still good value for the price of the dinner. Very generous serving of crab. The salad was fine but not outstanding as it was in October. Lettuce was slightly watery whereas in October the Romaine was very crisp. But I'm not complaining.
We shared a Baked Alaska. Delicious and Dramatic!
Stace is awesome. We were a party of 6. Although we were seated, the table was not ideal. Before we ordered, a larger table became available. With no urging or comments from us, Stace offered to move us to the larger table, even though it took us out of his section. His effort to ensure our comfort, prioritizing it over his convenience, was admirable!
My spouse and I decided our Christmas gift to each other would be brunch at Salty’s. We had never been before, but had heard really nice things about it. The brunch did not disappoint! There were so many options the only question was, “do i have room for this”? We look forward to coming back, to be able to try those things for which we ended up NOT having enough room! Thanks for a great Christmas memory :)
