Salty's on Alki Beach Ratings and Reviews
We had Chrissy as our server and she was attentive and always available which given how busy it was that day was pretty impressive. The lady at the welcome desk was friendly and inviting and the young man working the waiting area was friendly and helpful. My special guests enjoyed their visit and I was grateful for the excellent service.
The food was bland and just about everything was cold. The crab watered down and small and had no taste. The prime rib was overcooked and had no flavor but only the burnt taste from cooking on a wood fire I assume. Didn't get one bit of a clam in the clam chowder which was cold and flavorless. The cooked whole salmon was ice cold and slimy and the clams were overcooked and hard to chew. The quality of the ingredients were buffet quality you expect from a $10.00 buffet and in some cases worst. After spending $300.00 for four people it was highly disappointing and will never go back. To be honest the desserts were less than spectacular as if you think sponge cake you get at any Chinese buffet restaurant is acceptable with the high cost this brunch costs then this maybe the place is for you. As I desired my Mother and wife to be wooed with the dessert selection but what a disappointment. As even my Father poured the flavorless Ajus sauce on top of his prime rib to make it edible and am surprise he didn't ask the waiter for A1 sauce to make this steak salvageable. Did I mention we will never go back as feel cheated with the low quality ingredients and preparation as the owner of this operation must be laughing to the bank every Monday. The waitress was nice and great which we left a decent tip even though the food was subpar.
The food is somewhat overpriced as the charges likely reflect the stunning water views. The only negative we experienced over lunch was a pounding floor due to a Christmas party and very loud music playing directly below. They seriously need an acoustic overhaul.
It used to be better -- now there are fewer food items to choose from and the cost has gotten to the break point for me that I won't be going back. When I remember how it used to be several years ago, it really makes me sad to see how the price has more than doubled and the selection and quality of food items has decreased. Outstanding service, great view, but no longer worth the money it costs.
Great view, great service, food was fine but not amazing. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Trio appetizer (fried calamari, crab cake and shrimp) and chowder were ok. Fish quality is high but I didn’t really like the sauce on mine. Interior is nicely decorated (lots of nutcrackers on display right now) and I liked how it was lively inside but still really easy to hear each other and have a conversation at our table.
We were greeted with a smile once we walked in right away from the hostess and was able to get a window seat from my reservation. My waiter, James was knowledge with a soft spoken personality which we like as a waiter. Foods are on the small porion size but 4 stars. The million dollar view of dowmtown Seattle is pricless! Overall, it was a great experience and for sure to visit their brunch next time.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal. Percy, our server, was simply marvelous and friendly. We never felt rushed. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion. The meals were superb, but the crab cake appetizers were the highlight for me. Definitely worth a return trip for dinner.
Salty’s has a great view from the dinning room and bar area over looking Seattle. They have a good price on some happy hour foods and drinks. There are multiple regional fish entrees to choose from. They food came out pretty good. I feel for the price, the fish was a little dry, but some lemon helped that. I would want to go back for the brunch, I think the seafood options then are very good.
Overall a nice experience for a Thanksgiving party for my family. The positives were the views, general warm inviting vibe, and friendly helpful service. The negatives were the salmon portions being a bit undercooked and being charged for an appetizer bread basket when we were spending almost $300, it just felt somewhat cheap to us.
Salty's offers a fine brunch, but the price is now so high that we will likely not return. Of course, the seafood is the thing here, but even with that, $60 is a bit steep for an typical brunch plus seafood. The price only includes coffee, tea, or soda, not even juice. It is very busy on Sundays, but service is adequate. Great location on Alki Beach.
It was one of the more disappointing visits we had. This was to celebrate my wife’s birthday but after we had checked in. There were others who got seated before we did even though they arrived much later and checked in after us. It wasn’t until I went up to check again that they realized our table was overlooked and they drew up another order for us.
I also had specifically mentioned this was for my wife’s birthday but there wasn’t even a little cake presented as with other tables.
All in all it was an experience that was quite disappointing.
Their brunch was so hyped up for me I was looking forward to it. I go in with my parents who flew up to visit me and low and behold the brunch buffet is just an ihop spread out over the floor with a puny seafood corner. It was so underwhelmimg that I was about to tell the restaurant to cancel our reservation.
$60 for eggs Benedict, some Marriott or Hilton continental breakfast style omelette and pasta, hashbrowns... seriously? The view was absolutely stunning but the food was subpar and definitely not worth the $60.
If you plan on dropping $200+ on brunch just wait the extra hour or two and go to Shiros sushi for lunch or Anthony’s or Ruth’s Chris
I won’t be coming back here unles my girlfriend says she’s feeling a bit extra that day.
$290 brunch for 3 adults and a child. Most of the entrees were cold even though we had one of the earliest reservations of the day. The view was amazing, but the food and service did not live up to the advertising. Next family celebration will be at Cutters in downtown Seattle!
We went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was really worth it. The brunch buffet offers lot of options and wide array of sea food as well. The views are just amazing and staff is also very attentive. Over all a great place to celebrate special occasions!
