It has been a while since I had brunch at Salty’s. This visit was disappointing compared to my past experiences. I was disappointed in the prime rib. It was pre-cut in thin slices and placed in a serving dish. As it warmed, it became tough. Seafood chowder was quite good. Some of the items were good and others not so good. But my guests enjoyed brunch at Salty’s for their first time.
Attended Sunday brunch 4/22/18. Food was somewhat bland and tasteless on this visit. Blackened salmon needed more seasoning. Ham tasted like canned ham. Honey few melon was tough, unripe and tasteless. Gravy for biscuits flat and needs more seasoning. Very disappointed in overall taste, it's gone downhill since last visit.
The menu is short and the food is expensive but we enjoyed our meal. The one major shortcoming was the service, which was very weak. We had to order the wine twice, the bread came after the main course was served, and the waiter serving the main wasn't sure he was at the right table.
But the view was lovely, and the atmosphere is noisy but friendly.
Saltys is always great. Their cheese plate and steaks are amazing. Seafood can't be beat. Best is the view as you're right on the water. A must when family comes to town.
Salty’s is one of the great Seattle restaurants and never fails to deliver. The Redondo Beach location is on the water (literally) in a part of town most people don’t know exists. The setting and food are always top-notch.
Noisy! Overpriced for what you get. Need sunshades for sunset dining....those you already have inadequate for people facing sun. Waitstaff great. Anthony's a better value.
Very good food. They had a welcome balloon and sign for our anniversary dinner. After dinner they gave us a piece of white chocolate mousse cake. Great service.
Been going to Salty's at Redondo for years. Loved it then, love it now.
First time trying out the restaurant week.
Salty's had a great selection to choose from and the food was delicious!
Awesome waiter Philip who took good care of us.
Outstanding food and very attentive service. I'm never disappointed with the food or drinks at this restaurant.
I was a little surprise at the price for what you get- wooden fold up chairs with a picnic table cloth and food equivalent to BJ’s or Olive Garden. The experience doesn’t fit the bill. The food didn’t disappoint, but could have gone elsewhere for the same and spent less.
Menu was average. My dish was on the "special" list but wasn't spectacular for the price I paid. Same with my guests' dishes.
Celebrating an anniversary & asked many times what was the occasion, but nothing was provided to us to recognize the occasion. Not even a scoop of ice cream. Overall, a good experience, but not exceedingly good!
Although we selected a Thursday evening (5PM) and arrived a few minutes early, we had to wait to be seated. The bar area where we waited was very noisy. When we did get to the dining area, the noise level did not appreciably diminish. Our server (Dana) was very pleasant and helpful, a bright spot. We are particularly inclined to return.
Went for restaurant week and was great! Portions were a tad smaller than expected but more than enough and delicious. Would definitely go again and try the regular menu.
Kristy was a WONDERFUL server: knowledgeable, friendly & professional! I always meet my relatives there for lunch when I come into town as we love the food, views and capability to have nice conversations without a loud ambience.
We were a little disappointed to learn that the bread basket was now an xtra charge, but overall, the meals were delicious!
I already filled out a form "on the spot" the evening we were there. We were observing your participation in Restaurant Week and thank you for being included. It was a good introduction to Salty's. We appreciated the service and the food. Steelhead Trout was actually a new experience for us. We came home and studied them on-line. Tasted just like salmon, which we also love. Thanks also for allowing us to split a meal. At our age, we either split or bring leftovers home. We do not drink alcoholic beverages, but do enjoy high quality food and service.
Amazing brunch buffet with high quality food and large seafood selection
The presentation and food was fantastic. We ate mostly on the Seafood/Desert side. The Bloody Mary bar was great.
The wait staff was nothing less than fantastic!!!
The hostess was super nice and helpful. The wait staff was not. I ordered bread sampler and reminder her of this 3 times and still never received it. Then one person in my party ordered a $40 steak. She was brought out a salad so she began to eat it. Since she had never been there before she had no idea her steak did not come with a salad. They came and literally took it out from under her with her fork in hand and said ohh sorry not yours. When they brought out the fish and chips that 2 of us ordered. The fish was not only luke warm but chewy and dry. I will not recommend this establishment to anyone.
We are fisherman and eat a lot of fresh fish, shellfish. Food was nothing special for us, expected something to wow us. Waaaay tooooo expensive for the quality of the food. Will not be going back.
Unfortunately my food had three hair in my dinner plate and did not receive my new plate until my group was almost done and others where done with their meals. Server lacked in attention and forgot to bring second round of drinks. Overall dissapointed would consider other venues next time.
We had a wonderful Friday night dinner. Never once were we rushed through our meal and able to enjoy every bite. The food was delicious and delivered to our table exactly as we had ordered. One of our favorite places and did not let us down.
Great place to be with a date, friend, wife (husband)...food is something special and the people there really care that you have a outstanding time, we always go to Salty's for a great time.
We dine at Salty's numerous times thoughout the year. Sometimes at the Alki location and sometimes at the Redondo location. They both have the own charms. The food was good, as always, but our server was a little off on this night. They were relatively busy and it was restaurant week. At first we thought it was good that he wasn't rushing us, but after awhile it was like, "where did he go?" when we had not ordered our main course yet. So service this evening was a little off, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt and we will be back.
My husband and I brought family and friends here for a birthday celebration. It was our first time there. There were 8 of us, all adults. The service was wonderful, the food excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for conversation. We'll happily go back sometime when the weather is better, but even on a cloudy rainy day it was a nice spot.
Victoria & Dylan were as fantastic as the great food! We came for seafood & to celebrate a birthday & we got both! We will definitely return!
Service was slow. Portions were minuscule even though we asked before ordering if the portions were big. Told yes and when the food came out it was clear they were not telling the truth. Overpriced and now you have to pay for the bread side, which used to be free. Kids had a scoop of ice cream for $1 each. Husband asked for a sundae...he received the same scoop of ice cream with a little chocolate drizzle and a dollop of whip cream and it was $9 (rip off)!!!! Charged for a refill on the kids sodas. Sad that this restaurant is more worried about making money instead of keeping customers. Used to frequent the place, not anymore.
The service staff was very good and attentive. My only complaint was with the added price of $11 dollars to add 1 oz of crab to my Caesar salad. A bit outrageous.
I HAVE BEEN COMING TO SALTY'S FOR YEARS BUT NOT ANY MORE. COUPLE OF THINGS, FOR THE AMOUNT OF $$ SPENT THE PORTIONS WERE VERY SMALL AND THE PRESENTATION WAS LACKING. SECOND, MY WIFE SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR HERE SALMON TO BE COOKED WELL AND FIRM, WHEN THE SALMON CAME OUT IT WAS COOL AND THE CENTER WAS VERY RAW. SHE WAS EMBARRASSED TO SEND IT BACK OR SAY ANYTHING TO THE SERVER. SO BOTTOM LINE WE PAID $40 FOR A SMALL UNDER COOKED PIECE OF SALMON THAT SHE COULDN'T EAT. SO IT WAS A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE, THERE ARE LOTS OF RESTAURANTS IN SEATTLE SO THAT'S WHERE WE WILL SPEND OUR $ IN THE FUTURE
The intent was to have a nice birthday dinner. They have merged all of their menus and I’d say this is not fine dining at all. Having eaten at the Alki saltys many times and here a few I was surprised by the lack of service and food choices. No nightly specials and French fries served with surf and turf?!?
I got the shrimp Louis salad for $22 and honestly it was horrific, it’s a wedge salad with a bunch of ingredients chopped up, not even high quality ingredients. The Cesar salad had about 1/4 cup of cheese grated on browned lettuce, if you like deep fried, flavorless and disappointing food please go here. I asked a bus person for a menu to order something different but our waiter Brent never came back. Over $200 and won’t be back.
My recommendation is go to the other saltys or a half dozen other places nearby that will have better food, service and perhaps even a linen tablecloth.
As always, we love brunch at Salty’s! We have gone to the Easter Kid’s brunch two years now and have been so pleased.
The Pre-Easter brunch was discounted significantly from regular brunch prices which we were initially excited about, but the brunch selection was more limited than other brunches that are typically around the same (lower)price point.
The bunny and egg hunt were really nice for the kids though so if those extras are factored in, it made for a decent day. The value rating is based on the price for food only as the activities were free to the public and did not coincide with the brunch price directly.
Servers wre very nice. Service was good. Food was excellent.
my boyfriend and I have been here twice since we moved to Redondo Beach. It is delicious! Their mashed potatoes are to die for and their huckleberry lemondrop martini is amazing! It is right on the water so there are some good views of the sound. They have a lounge area that has live music sometimes. The only thing that was hard was that it is very loud so it is hard to hear the person your dining with, but overall it has great food, a great atmosphere, and very friendly staff.
This is my 30th anniversary dinner. We were there for 30 minutes the waitress kept breaking the cork. 15 minutes after the 1st one broke (the wine had turned) I had to hunt down our waitress, who was standing at the front hostess station. She finally brought the bottle and broke that one too, but tried to hide it.
The manager finally got involved and brought another waitress who somewhat redeemed the night.
After all the stress they didn't comp the bottle. But they did buy desert.
We won't be back and we will be telling all of our friends about this night. It was supposed to be special and started awful.
You pay for the view. Food is over priced and not very good. So loud we could hardly hear each other across the table. We only went because we had a gift card. We used to go there for all our special occasions but quit going there when the quality of the food and service went down. We don't plan on going back.
We use Salty's for special occasions. In this case, our anniversary. We love their brunches.
This is a favorite if ours for brunch. We have brought at least 3 different couples with us in different visits. Love the superb service.
Do not wait in the bar, no one will come to move you to dining. Slow service. 2 managers a bit rude. Happy hour appetizers reasonable. Dinner expensive for being bar atmosphere.
