Salty's at Redondo Beach Ratings and Reviews
We chose Salty's @ Redondo for three couples of longtime friends coming from both the Key Peninsula and Redmond areas to have our monthly lunch get together @ 1 PM on a Friday. We had the restaurant basically to ourselves with only two other tables occupied. Service was timely, friendly and efficient. The menu has a variety of fresh fish and seafood along with a very few meat selections. Our choices of Fish & Chips, Mac & Jacks Mussels, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Shrimp & Chips and a great flame broiled burger all were given high marks. Not the least expensive place to dine for lunch, but the food and views of the container ships passing by are worth it.
I need to remember that the food at Salty’s isn’t that good. In addition to all the deep fat frying and the dreary sauces for pasta, my fish tacos were inedibly over-spiced. The waiter was good enough to take them back and try again with the jalapeño pesto on the side. Without the sauce they were bland. With a dab of the pesto they were ok. What Salty’s has going for them is the great view. I just wish the food matched it.
Amazing restaurant! I’ve been for the fourth time now and this time with my girlfriend Angela. We loved EVERYTHING! Nikkolas was awesome as well as the hostess Jordan. We have coined this restaurant as “our spot”, and will continue to patronize it as much as we can. Thanks for the incredible food, service, and atmosphere.
Have been several times. Very disappointed with food and noise level. Salmon was VERY undercooked and vegetables (especially the potatoes) were very salty. Had to send back two salmon orders and one other fish dish. In addition the noise level was very loud!
Will likely not return.
It seems this restaurant is going through a transition....
The menu is paired down dramatically and apparently they have a new cooking team... We have eaten here for decades and typically it is a wonderful restaurant...
But our experience last night did not meet our expectations by a longshot... I hope they can get things turned around quickly!
We were at Salty’s celebrating our best friend’s engagement. We had our infant son with us. Our reservation was for 6:30pm which we were on time for. We didn’t receive water for 15 minutes, and didn’t get our first round for 30 minutes. By 7:30pm we still did not have bread, which I needed for the baby, or our appetizers which they said would be out in 6 more minutes...still no bread when those came out. We then had to ask for water refills, had to ask twice for a kids menu, but by 8pm it was too late to feed my son. The ambiance and food made up for it, but the wait staff did not acknowledge their delays even when we pointed it off out. Overall we had a great evening due to the circumstances of our celebration however we were very disappointed in our service overall.
Ambiance was really good staff and help was really good food was lacking out of three dishes two were okay something you would think of at a $12 place not 18 and $16 but service and Ambience was amazing food needs help just mediocre overall fries were delicious best thing and the bread
We come with high expectations and they always manage to exceed them. Highlights at New Years Brunch were the PERFECTLY prepared Eggs Benedict (hard to maintain runny centers in eggs when you have to present a pan-full) and the cheese blintzes (great balance of creamy-tart filling and fruity syrup over top ).
I use to live in Seattle and spent many trips to both locations in WA. I now live in Denver but traveled back to Seattle last week. I always gave high regards to this restaurant and wanted to share the experience with my wife. We made reservations well before our arrival. When we finally got there, the menu was extremely dissapointing. Very few options and grossly over priced. I was devastated and I would not recommend this place to friends or co-workers.
We requested to be sat in Kylies section and she delivered excellent service and usual. She has a great attitude and is right in top of things. I would recommend her any day. The atmosphere also was amazing. The Santa was dead on and would totally recommend people come just to take picture with him. Just a wonderful experience all around.
my friend and I have been coming to Salty's since it opened. We always come at Christmas and usually for birthdays. The service is good and the food is tops. this time our waiter Tristan was very attentive however maybe a little too patronizing. He seemed to like to pat us on our shoulders. we are two ladies in our early 70's and perhaps he saw us as a little old. I dont know. He was a very good waiter in spite of the small irritation.
The warm bread basket with olive oil/balsamic vinegar was nice. Server brought only 3 bread plates instead of 4. We all enjoyed our entrees. Complimentary "anniversary" cake was also very nice; here again the server brought 3 chilled forks, not 4 ( there were extra forks on the table so no big deal). cocktails were good, as was the wine.
Atmosphere was relaxed, and not busy even though it was a Friday evening during the Christmas Holiday season.
The food was great. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very well maintained. The wait staff was not impressive. Every time we needed our waitress I had to hunt her down, including when it came time to pay the check. Salty's is busy for Brunch and the owner needs to look at additional wait staff to support that busy of a crowd.
I had not been to Salty’s in over 30+ years...had the pleasure of having drinks with my oldest daughter in the lounge first and then meeting up with family members for dinner. I collect Nutcrackers so seeing the large Nutcrackers adorning the outdoor deck and in the lounge as absolutely wonderful! I will not wait another 30 years before returning!
Freezing cold by the windows. People were going in and out of the side door to the deck, allowing cold air in and wind would blow the menus off the table.
The menus hardly offered any choices. What happened to the old menus?
We moved to the bar side to get some warmth and the tv was blaringly loud.
Overall, not up to the usual Salty’s standard, having been there many, many times.
The brunch layout was wxcellent with 2 small exceptions. I tried the biscuits and gravy and was disappointed. It didn’t have much flavor and I decided it wasn’t worth finishing. Second, I had 2 of the muscles from the hot seafood side... and both left a really bad taste in my mouth.. like contaminated mud. Other than that, the rest of the menu was outstanding. I’m looking forward to our next brunch visit.
