Salty's at Redondo Beach
Peel and Eat Shrimp
our fruits reflect the season with large individual bowls of fresh-cut fruit, such as maui gold hawaiian pineapple, sweet cantaloupe, juicy honeydew, fresh cut watermelon, ripe northern californian strawberries and blueberries
They were great :)
Decent service, food quality was very average. Cold broccoli side, manager refunded part of the cost. Took a long time even with half-empty restaurant. But staff was friendly and treat my birthday daughter well.
Great food with excellent service. This is a terrific special occasion place.
We love Salty's. The only disappointment was the prime rib. It was dry; it was not tender; and it lacked flavor. Emerald Queen's is much better.
I have chosen the brunch at Salty’s at Redondo Beach for several birthday celebrations! Love the selection of food items, especially the fresh seafood options! DELICIOUS!
My husband and I were on our monthly date night sans teenager. It was exactly the sophisticated and calm experience we needed! Always pleasure with Salty’s. From ambience to service, we have never been let down.
Our server Kyle was amazing, food was incredible and the drinks were on point! The special touches, the anniversary card and the yummy dessert was wonderful and very thoughtful!! Thank you for making our 25th wedding anniversary great!! ❤️❤️
We try to visit Saltys every time we visit our kids- never disappoints! Great food, fabulous staff and the location is wonderful!
The crab is fabulous. The fish sandwich was disappointing. Service was great.
Very good, Ember was very nice. We like that the staff recognizes us!
With reservations, the wait to be seated was unreasonably long. Then we were seated in the back,at a table with a large pillar blocking the view. This, even though I am a frequent guest and receive regular email solicitations for specials. This occasion was in response to the Monday Dungeness crab night special. The excellent food and service helped to make up for the seating in the back, far from the view windows, for a 5:30 seating.
Service was very good. Over priced for a sandwich, broccoli was terrible. The parking lot is in dire need of repair. Recommend the happy hour in summer, view is beautiful.
Our server Jesse was attentive but not on top of us. Just terrific. Wonderful evening
We went for prime rib special. Took 45 min to get food, and it was lukewarm, meat was tough. Disappointed.
Spent our 7th wedding anniversary at Salty's great brunch, in their Redondo location. Everything was lovely, down to the personal note on the table just for us.
New baby. Beautiful setting. Server very nice. She is new and did not know as much about the menu and restaurant as we would have liked. My dairy allergy questions should have been directed to the chef instead of her guessing.
Salty’s on Redondo is a great experience, but even more so on a sunny NW day. Told the hostess it was our date night and asked for water window seat. She gave us what she and I believe is the best table in the restaurant. Wonderful view of the sound and Vashon Island. Jesse, our wait staff, was awesome. Our dinner of garden pasta and fish & chips was very good. The wine options great. I love that Salty’s on Redondo has a small town feel for such a great view and central location. Worth the visit.
Love Saltys.. crab deal was fun.. not as good as saltys regular entrees though
All of the food was absolutely wonderful. I was a bit disappointed because we made reservations in advance and did not have a seat with any view of the water, which is half of the point of going there. The food made up for it though. The service was great as well.
After going thru a bad patch of poor service and terrible food they are back to the Salty’s we have known and loved for years! The food was great and so was the service. We will now try the brunch again with the expectation of it being as wonderful again as well!
We went for our anniversary and they had decorated our table with confetti. A very nice touch. Our waiter, Joe, was fantastic. He was so attentive, friendly and it felt like he really cared to make it special for us. We’ll be going back again.
Went to there Sunday brunch for a late valentines day celebration. The restaurant has beautiful views and the staff was very friendly. I thought the food was okay. The prime rib was well done and sliced very thin and you had to walk through a service area to reach the other side of the buffet. The tables were very close together and felt a bit crowded.
The food was delicious as always. The only negatives we had was the service was a little slow and our server wasn't very sociable.
Great atmosphere and great food did it for me and an attendant waiter topped it. Perfect location and friendly staff. Will be back and definitely worth recommending.
Excellent food and service.
My wife and I always enjoy our dinners there.
Great service amazing food! The desert was fantastic!
We sat in the bar for an hour before our reservation, that was very nice, good appetizers, good service, great view.
Then we moved to our table and ordered dinner, my wife ordered Sirloin & Steelhead, I ordered Filet & Lobster. When the plates arrived, our steaks were identical and equally overcooked, the rest of the food was poor at best.
Not terrible, but for the price. very disappointing.
Valentine's night reservation, was seated 35 minutes late. Ordered food, chowder and coconut shrimp were good and timely, an hour after ordering, was told they were out of what we ordered, after waiter said our food would be up shortly. We got our entrees 90 minutes after being seated. Was not worth the wait, we were seated at a temporary table, seats not comfortable. We did get 2 free desserts for this miserable experience. Have been going there for over 20 years on Valentine's day, probably will not again.
Over crowded , sat by the serving station where there was constant noise of silverware being dumped into the busers station. Scallops could have been pan seared instead of grilled , and the lobster was small.
My family I dined at Salty’s for Valentine’s Day. We have been patrons for years attending brunch. Over the years it has been clear that the focus is more about overall revenue and and quality. They pack in as many people as possible and it is difficult to get in and out of the seating. Everyone is so close that you can’t have an intimate conversation or even not smell the people next to you. We had smokers next to us. In addition we had to wait 30 min for our reservation and the server had such a large area to cover that conversation was not an option.
In regards to food quality, our favorite was the bread which you are charged for. The 5 oz steaks were so overcooked and dry it was difficult to chew. That is a sad statement since it was a filet. I had a lobster tail that was simply put, rubbery and very fishy. The 4oz salmon was also dry and masked with an over abundance of sauce and basaltic reduction. We had 1 appetizer, two non alcoholic drinks, four entrees and the bill was $242. Sad to say last night was the last of our tradition.
The food seemed sparse for the price… My husband and I each had the crab Louie which could’ve used more condiments on it ...it seem to lack an avocado or something ....it was pretty dry for the money. The waiter was kind and attentive & the deserts were great.
My wife and I went to Salty's on Redondo for Valentines Day. I ordered the whole lobster dinner, it had a small amount of meat for the size of the lobster and I definitely thought it was over priced at $90 for the meal in general. My wife had the filet mignon with jojo's, the mignon was tender and flavorful however there was so much oil on the plate the broccolini was soaked in it. Both of our dinners were fair at best. Also the wait time despite having reservations was long and meals took even longer. We understand it was a busy night due to Valentines. Our waiter on the other hand was great!
We celebrated a birthday here on Valentines Day so it was busier than normal and a bit louder too. The waitstaff was really hustling to keep up with all of the orders. Our server was Tristan and he took good care of us.
We always enjoy Salty’s. It’s one of our favorite places for a special occasion. Of, and did I mention their signature white chocolate celebration cake? Nice finish!!
We've been to Salty's at Redondo Beach in the past many times. We chose Salty's mainly because it was closest to where we live for a Valentine's Day lunch. However, our last visit was years ago. During this visit we found the following: The overall impression was that it is pretentious. The butter for bread was too salty, oil for dipping bread in was oddly spiced, salad was served in dishes which were prone to tipping while attempting to stab a piece of salad, the clam chowder was also too salty, the price of the Seafood Pasta dish was way overpriced, and even though we were sitting across from each other at a small table we could barely hear each other talk at times. Being non-smokers, we suspect one of the food preparers must be a smoker who is less sensitive to salty tastes. The steak was superb, but the lobster was a bit chewy. If we didn't have a $50 gift card to defray the cost, I would have felt ripped off by the bill which was over $120 even after being deducted from it.
I have traveled to the Seattle area numerous times over the past 15 years and once I found Salty's at Redondo Beach it became my favorite restaurant. I have taken clients there as well as a birthday dinner a few years ago.
This will be my last trip to the area as retirement is nearing and I had to go back to Salty's one last time.
It didn't disappoint! It will always be my favorite restaurant on the area and I hope to return some day in the future!
I eat there several times a year, and am always satisfied....
