A booking made on Saturday for 12:30pm for lunch and could have saved the trouble as the restaurant was completely empty and remained that way until we left at 2pm. Not a good sign and it soon became apparent why this place was vacant - it is a high potential candidate for Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares ! On arrival the front of house was empty - no service staff in sight at all. After an interminable wait I was finally greeted by a fairly disinterested staff, who obviously didn’t need to check the reservation list and said I could pick any table I wanted ! The waitress when she finally showed some time later clearly wanted to be somewhere else. The menu says see the bar for beer on tap, don’t bother as there was nothing on tap that day and only a choice of two bottled beers - Corona and Almaza - should have chosen water as the Almaza was forgettable (and everyone knows Corona is a Mexican donkey’s waste!). Ridiculous for such a poor range of beers at an inner city Sydney restaurant, not a single boutique beer in sight (not even a decent volume produced either). We ordered some Hummus - which was fair - to be followed by a “Nutty Fatoush” and “Chargrilled Lamb Shoulder”. The Fatoush was insipid, limp lettuce and nondescript accoutrements. Chargrilled lamb shoulder was fatty and over cooked. I can just hear Gordon Ramsay expletives if he was star of the show at this shocking representation of a Lebanese tapas bar. Plates left in-collected, no follow-up offers for drinks or desserts - we were the only guests so staff weren’t run-off their feet ! Had to eventually call the waitress from her difficult task behind the bar for the bill. Recommendation - avoid at all costs; a trip to McDonalds would be more enjoyable ! This place should close its doors before it goes bust and wastes the owner’s retirement fund !

The food was amazing! Seemed very authentic. Although the service was not, none of the alcoholic beverages ordered were available and the staff were not attentive at all despite the fact that there were only 2 tables of people dining at the time. Doubt I would return

Salt vine have taken middle eastern cuisine to new heights by recreating the flavours you love. The visuals were phenomenal and my taste buds tingled with each bite. Great job guys and gals !!
